  • great song for such a wistful voice..

  • What is the name of this lovely song?

Blossom was one of my favorite singers of all time....I always enjoyed watching her perform at Danny's and I had a wonderful convesation with her in the ladies room one night. She knew how to tell a story and her piano playing always seemed effortless.

    "Don't Wait Too Long"

  • すごくセクシーな声だね

  • Holly Mollie!!

i always loved her... and I leaved in the same hamlet that she was born in..and I did not know it.. snif.

Home town of the Great Irish Week (Trad music)

  • There was a post (since removed) of her performing "Winchester in Apple Blossom Time", probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written. She performed so wonderfully - it was my first exposure to her - and I am entranced by everything she did. Well done, Blossom. Thanks!

  • died February 7 2009.

  • Thank you so much for a lovely tribute to a lovely lady. Such a beautiful voice and a unique way with a song.

Is there anyone to take her place ?

    I think not. Sadly

  • I will remember your sly, kittenish voice forever.

  • bye bye sweet blossom

    I will never forget you!

  • apropos !!

  • ...and a perfect and clear pronunciation. That's great for foreign listeners like me.

  • what a nice relaxing voice ..so nostalgic !

  • i never realized "tea for two" was a love song until i heard blossom do it. i bet she's giving them the oh la la right now1 r.i.p girl!

  • Right up there with Ella among female jazz singers in my opinion. Wonderful, fresh interpretations of standards (Tea for Two, Surry With A Fringe On Top, etc), but she really came into her own with less well known material such as I Walk A Little Faster, They say It's Spring and Rhode Island Is Famous For you. Irreplaceable.

  • Wonderful tribute. That's the unmistakable Jack Sheldon on trumpet. Anybody know what album this is from?

  • The album is "May I Come In?" from the mid-1960s, on Capitol, with Jack Marshall's band including, as you say, Jack Sheldon with whom, I've read, Ms Dearie was involved (I have no idea whether or not that's true.)

  • Lovely tribute to a wonderful singer. Thanks!

  • R.I.P. Will miss those cozy nights, Blossom.

  • The clarity of her tone is amazing. So pure.

    RIP Ms. Dearie.

  • What Modeltsar said . . . so lovely!

  • Lovely! One of the finest voices ever recorded. Thank you!

  • where is the short black and white film scene from ? Can one find it somewhere ?

  • I am pretty sure it was Ronnie Scott's. Think I was there Dude. She is the Love of my life. I remember the first time I heard her voice wafting up the stairs from Ronnie's into the Soho street. It was love at first hearing. I have a fine Art Gallery and rarely play anyone else. She is a gift from God

  • Great Job, thanks for all those cool vintage images of her!!

  • Tudo DI BOMMMMMMMMMMM
