  • Thank YOU so much for making this video. It makes my heart happy.

  • I love this! Am smiling ear to ear!

  • Getting my early afternoon fix. So happy and inspiring!

  • Great job. I hope it ups awareness, donations and adoptions. Way to think out of the box.

  • I have been a volunteer at the SPCA for several years and am SO PROUD to be part of this tremendous organization. We had lots of fun doing this video and appreciate all the great comments. The entire staff and the hundreds (YES 100s) of volunteers enjoy sharing it with people all over the world.

  • @The Sociopet: One more thing - the SPCA does indeed pull a large number of pets from Municipal shelters - both from its base county (Wake) and from surrounding counties AND other high-kill counties in NC.

  • @jerseygalnc Please note that a fan is using my name that I am not posting. People will do all kinds of things evil to get their point across.

  • WAO! SO inspiring!

This should be a TV commercial. I love it!

  • @The Sociopet: Two facts: 1) The SPCA of Wake County is a huge advocate for the APBT (check out The Pit Crew on the web page). 2) The problem is not the breeds in shelters or how much money is spent on lip dubs (zero dollars spent - everything for that was DONATED), but rather the fact that communities are largely ineffective in engaging people in responsible spay/neuter initiatives. If you want to gripe, gripe about that. They are there because there are too many of them, period. Go SPCA!

  • @jerseygalnc Please note a fan is using my name and I am not making these posts.

  • As a volunteer at the SPCA of Wake County, I am very proud to be a part of this organization. The high level of respect given to both humans and animals there is admirable and cannot be understated, and that is one of the many things illustrated in this video. It's so thrilling to hear all of your positive comments and cheers, and thank you for taking the time to post them and to support shelter animals! :)

  • I love it!!! Good Luck with your adoptions!!

  • A 'troll feeder' is someone who doesn't really understand the intent of the 'troll', therefore tries to reason with one. They step right into the fire armed with facts and reason, only to find that the troll won't be happy until everyone is fighting with one another and things become really ugly. When experienced posters spot a troll, the inclination is to ignore the troll's inflammatory insults or comments or just leave the thread until the troll gives up and leaves also.

  • @TheSociopet Please note a big fan is using my name. These are not my posts.

  • @thesocialpet -You are not using any virus protection program? I would change my name on youtube so you are not known as THE TROLL! Pls fix it soon. Peace.

  • @Clancy1602 Notice the name change of the other one that is very similar. It is not my exact account. It is a similar name. The other person is actually supporting the video. Read the posts, Clancy.

  • A 'troll' is someone who cruises around message boards and posts comments to incite the rage of others on the forum. Someone who gets their kicks out of 'stirring the pot', so to speak.

  • Personally I feel that there is way to much hate going around and people who judge others in this world. These people are miserable, so they attempt to bring others down with them. This video is unselfish and sends a very positive message. Thank you for taking the time to make a 59,546 people smile (so far).

  • LOVE IT!! This should be a TV commercial for pet adoption!!

  • Just had to watch one more time before bed. Glad I came by to visit when Victoria Stllwell stopped in!! I hear she was very impressed.. WTG. Video is great. It takes a ton of dedicated volunteers to keep your org running and pets adopted. :)

  • Best. Shelter. Video. Ever. Fantastic Job!!!!

  • This is the most original video I have seen. Great job guys/gals.

  • You all really made my day and restored my faith in humanity! At a time when all I seem to hear about is bad news for animals, you brought a big smile to mine and my wife's faces. Thanks for such an amazing job!!

  • Great video.

My Murphy came from the Wake SPCA and bringing home that big, goofy mess of a dog is one of the best decisions I ever made.

  • This is such an amazing, creative video, I just loved it, have watched it several times and yes, I donated. Don't be so hard on shelters-- there's no way to save all the homeless pets, and we have to do what we can. Sometimes that means hard decisions. They are saving 3,000 lives a year and have the dedication and talent to make such an inspiring video. If you've done more than that or have a better answer, let us know.

  • @Championnat7 There is a way to save all the homeless pets. Once you say it is not possible, you have closed your mind.

See the national program by Best Friends called "No More Homeless Pets."

The hard decision comes in saying, "All life is worth saving, no matter the age, temperament, background or breed."

The better answer is to not make a fancy video, but put the time and effort into saving homeless pets.

  • Fantastic video and what a terrific mission you have! Best of luck to you all!

  • Outstanding!!! Thank you for making a difference and going above and beyond to send the message of love and compassion. I have to admit there was a tear or two as I watched. God Bless.

  • good thing i can go there

  • so proud of you guys!!! Awesome work. One pet at a time, one dollar at a time :) you guys deserve many cheers!!

  • This shelter is a private only. They DO NOT take in strays or unowned animals. They can pick & choose what animals to take. They are not the municipal shelter. Per their website: "As of July 1st, all stray and owner-surrendered animals are being taken to the municipal shelter, the Wake County Animal Center.

Private shelters are great only if they help out the municipal shelters that don't have the money, volunteers and support and must euthanize animals because more come in everyday.

  • Comment removed

  • @rlembo5 I would love to see some numbers. I have heard the same "promises" from other private shelters. Also, each shelter seems to have their own definition of what is "adoptable."

I was also concerned that the video only showed puppies & kittens, except for two adult dogs. Everybody loves puppies & kittens & those are easily adopted. It is the adult dogs that are more difficult to adopt, especially from certain breeds.

If the shelter FULLY supports the public shelter, that is the best.

  • Comment removed

  • @rlembo5 As stated on the website, they accept owner surrender pets, & appointments are needed.

Only 3,000? What about the remaining 20,000 plus that are euthanized. Every life counts, not just the cute & friendly & young and cuddly.

I see the reason for the video is to have people donate money. Since they no longer have an animal control contract, they now need money.

Where is the bitter part? As stated, I love animal shelters. If I could afford to work in one, I would.

  • @thesocialpet

    ...haters gonna hate...

  • @TheSociopet I love animal shelters. I have worked and volunteered in public shelters for many years in California. All my animals, dogs and cats and birds and rabbits, are adopted from rescues and animal shelters.

I think the video presents a skewed idea of a shelter, and I am very concerned that people will assume or want all shelters, primary public shelters, to be the same. But they can't due to lack of volunteers and funding and support.

Support your local public shelter. They need you!

  • Comment removed

  • @rlembo5 The reason for the video is to raise money.

Rather than the fancy video, I would prefer to have seen a blank, black screen with gold type that said, "We wanted to make a fancy video highlighting our beautiful hallways, mahogany wood, clean floors, but we decided to spend the time, money and effort into helping homeless animals in our area."

That would have received a lot more attention.

  • beautiful animals, beautiful people! Keep up the great work. My donation is the mail. I encourage others to do the same if you can.

  • Great job! Rescue people rock!!

  • absolutely amazing video! seems like a great place to work and a great place for the pets to be while waiting for adoption! keep it up!!!!

  • i loved it & i vol there too

  • Just love it! Great job, that must have been soooo much work! Looks like you have a beautiful shelter!

  • Very sweet. All of these animals are lucky to have such happy, friendly caregivers.

  • Nice job! Enjoyed watching this video.

  • Nice job! Enjoyed watching this video.

  • AWESOME, awesome! you all rock! GREAT video and EMOTIONAL! ;)Did you get a lot inquiries after this?

  • That was fantastic! What a beautiful shelter. The staff & volunteers look like a great group.

  • Great job! I love this video <3

  • I love you guys! This video made my eyes tear up and I had to bite my lip so I wouldn't be crying at my desk first thing in the morning. LOL Great job!

  • VERY well done. Thank you for ALL you do for the animals! Raleigh, North Carolina is blessed to have ya'll there.

  • Everything that is good in the world and good about people is in this video. I just can't stop watching it, and laughing and crying. Cutest, sweetest, video ever, thank you for putting in the work to make it, we are all enjoying it immensely! So impressed that you timed it out so well in one take! Amazing.

I wish I worked with you all!

  • @bhadam5 I would rather see something amazing in finding homes for homeless pets.

  • What a wonderful video and beautiful facility!!!!

  • WOW! I'm having a hard time in my life right now, and this is the first thing that has brought a smile to my face in a while! Fantastic!

  • @artocyn Me too. Brought a big smile to my face. Love the song and saving pets! :) Feel better!!

  • @Clancy1602 The reason for the video is the raise money, which, in turn, supports adoption & all their programs.

The shelters that should be supported are your local public shelters in your own area & private shelters that 100% support the local public shelter.

The people who should support this shelter should be the people who live in the area & live in the area of the public shelter. The message of a national video is kind of pointless, unless they said "Support your own local shelter."

  • @thesocialpet The WakeCounty AnimalCare, Control&Adoption Center, Gov-run, partners with animal rescues and shelters called the New Hope Placement Partners Program. The center transfers ownership of the animal to the partner, one being this SPCA, who then works to find it a forever home. Many are taken out of the Co.facility and are placed with SPCA foster families. Also a space is then made available to another one giving, ‘new hope.’ By all means, plz support your local shelter.

  • @Clancy1602 My experience with private shelters who say they take animals from public shelters is that the private shelter will only take what they consider to be most adoptable. This means, no pit bulls, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans and other large and difficult to adopt breeds. They also won't take any animals that need any type of behavior modification or training beyond the basics or any animals with any type of so called "issues." These fall into the "unadoptable" category.

  • @thesocialpet Yes, it is obvious from ALL your posts, your experiences have not been good. I just went to the spcawake.org site and counted 8 pitbulls, 8 pit mixes, german shepherd, chowchow, 2 boxers, 7 lab mixes, pinscher, griffon and border collie. They have a behaviorist on staff .Each animal is tested + may go to a foster home for rehab before being placed for adoption. They keep the pets until they are adopted. Let out 3x a day, played with/taught tricks/walked. Takes many volunteers..

  • @Clancy1602 I just looked at their adoptable animals, also.

There is only one dog listed as purebred Am Staff, & that is not a purebred. The rest of the Am Staffs are all mixes, & many of those are questionable as mixes.

The Chow is a mix. There are no German Shepherds, Boxers, Rottweilers or Dobermans or Akitas, etc. Every other dog is a mix.

As a comparison, every single shelter in the US is half pit bulls & half Chihuahuas, this no way reflects what is really in a public shelter.

  • @thesocialpet -I don't see the purebred Am Staff listed ur talking about, but it is very possible as most of the time ~1 in 5 pets are purebred. How would you know this unless ur a staff member posting anyhow? Some pets they definitely know the breed because they are relinquished by their owners and have the paperwork form the county. I guess Digger, Lily the boxer mixes were missed as was Zeus, the GermShep mix. Can u plz say what is really on your mind?

  • @thesocialpet Hater (n.): A person that simply cannot be happy for another person’s success. Instead of giving acknowledgment in courtesy, a hater often pursues his/her point by exposing a flaw in the target subject. Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesn’t really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse [sic] down a notch.

  • the enthusiasm of youth and the wisdom of elders. Well done!

  • Awesome, so uplifting, thank you for what you do!

  • GREAT WORK!!! Posting on FB and making a donation. Keep doing what you do. :-)

  • Wake County SPCA - you rock! Kudos to the producer, SPCA staff, volunteers and participants. I keep watching this over and over and am sharing it with my friends. • OMG!!! Wonderful, clever, great "marketing"!!

  • This is so cute i've watched atleast 5 times. Might even adopt a kitten from here sometime today!

  • Absolutely wonderful!

  • Fantastic way to get several points across!!!! And what a beautiful facility! Anyone who might be worried about how scared the animals might have been making this video needs to spend a bit more time in a shelter. They are clean, calm, and seem comfortable. Temporary living situations ARE scary for animals of all shapes and sizes. PLEASE spay and neuter your animals, do your homework before getting one, and support these great places by ADOPTING!!! Kudos to you, SPCA of Wake County!

  • So great!!! Love Love Love it. Had to send in to the Ellen show. Hope ya'll get on someday!! Well done.

  • Great VIdeo and such an awesome job - sure this will go viral and help SPCA ! Hey I've already sent it to 10 friends!

  • This is awesome! I hope there is a run on the shelter and good families adopt the sweet pets. I can't believe someone dislikes this!

  • So... 1 person in 500 (or 0.2%) doesn't like this video. I guess that makes sense -- you'd HAVE to be 0.2% of a person not to love this. The animals look a little nervous, but hey -- a few seconds of "er... what is this crazy human up to" sure beats the living daylights out of languishing in a shelter for the rest of your life. By the way, I've never had a "new" dog, cat, or rabbit. All my animals are strays or adoptees. :)

  • I love the energy and excitement of the people in this video. I was thoroughly enjoying it... until I saw the abject terror in the eyes of every animal in it.

  • You are doing great job, kudos to you @ SPCA

  • I feel gay for liking this video.

  • Pretty creative I'm very impressed.

  • I just wanna say THIS WAS SOOOO AWESOME!!!!! Thank you sooo much! I have done my many shares with the HSPCA and will con't as the years go by!!! You all are great for putting this together!!
