damn i saw an open box at microcenter for 26 bones but with temps in the 90's at 2900 mhz it isnt worth 6 bones what terrible results u must have installed it incorectly
@pietjanhenk no i responed to what u said simply. u dont want me as a subscriber block me or acept comments from people with the same interest as you no buggie why u so p'oed???
@asus3571 you said i installed incorrectly. you think 1:52 is the temp, no it's the time in the video for checking the load and idle temps from thermalright cooler.
the cooler is 52 at 100% load on all cores/threads.
@pietjanhenk no 152 is obvious cant be the temp i paused at 152 and those are considered idle 8.2% is not load i see ur load temps and to be honest at stock temps its not the greatest albeit better than stock cooler the point of haveing such a large cooler is to overclock correct?
@pietjanhenk i stand corrected if thats the case it would absolutely be indicitive of stock cooler temps but the vid stated mux120 tempshave you overclocked with the mux10 yet??
@pietjanhenk very true what u say but one good thing about a 92c temp on your chip is u wont need a heater 4 your room in the winter (lol) u should seriously try to overclock its a blast and it will undoubtably make ur games as well as your rig run better just remember to keep ur ram in spec
Would this fit with in a LGA socket 1155 and i also have corsair vengence ram sticks so would this fan fit? Also can i add a extra fan on the other side of this fan for push and pull air flow ?
Also, another question. How much space do you have between your video card and heatsink? I have the same motherboard and I was worried I would hit the video card.
This CPU heat sink is pathetic in design. First, the attached setup tool doesn't help you to screw the four thumb screws onto the board firmly, neither you can use any screw drivers to secure the positioning square metal plate. Also, the heat sink can be twisted after the metal plate (chassis) was installed. In short, DO NOT buy this crap!
i think you don't know how to install heatsinks, this one was applied very tight to the motherboard.
The backplate was secured with screws, i know there are 2 versions of this heatsink, one with plastic pins (like intel cooler) and this one version with screws. I don't have or had any problems with this heatsink.
295 old? it's directx10.1 and not 11 indeed but not old. I think your nvidia SLI is getting more FPS than my single 5870. But graphics are insane with directx 11 in games like dirt 2 and bad company 2. i get a solid 65FPS in dirt2 on maxed settings. with vsync 60FPS because i have 60Hz monitor.
Pretty decent hardware. Main thing I'm interested in is the case, planning on buying it myself. I just need to know if my ASUS HD5870 fits in there since my powerconnectors are on the front, not on the side of the card. 1 advice, clean up those cables, i heard this case is pretty decent/good in cablemanagement so hanging cables like that in the case is unforgivable.
@crazykenny1991 there should be room enough in the PC-P50 for a asus 5870 with connectors on the front. but i don't know if there is room for a 4th or 5th 5,25 dvd/bluray/ other things.
ey dude to come back on that cable management from me, i have updated my pc with new fans with led's and i decided to uninstall all parts and components of my PC-P50 to work on a better cable management and for dust cleaning. now my PC-P50 looks way more organized with the cables. and also i made a sidepanel myself because Lian-Li only have ready to go sidepanels for the newer revision of the PC-P50.
I am planning to make a video about my recent work!

@asus3571
The temp from 8.2% load is from intel cooler and indeed that's a high idle temp.
but you should watch the video fully.
i implemented intel and thermalright scores both,
@ 1:18 from intel - 100% load - then the scores from idle.
@1:55 from thermalright - 100% load - then the scores from idle.
maybe you should watch the video again friend :)
pietjanhenk 4 months ago
@asus3571 the temps in the 90's are from the intel cooler, maybe that's what you tried to say?

asus3571 4 months ago
@asus3571 not OC'ed, i think it's not necessary for games i play and vids i render.
i7-860 is very good with games so i don't OC.
Thermalright is only for better temps, i was a little bit worried with intel cooler you know 92 celsius is burning hot.
better stay of the boxed cooler from i5 and i7 and go for aftermarket cooler.

JAGno1 5 months ago
@JAGno1 yes 1155 wil fit.
The fan wil fit, in my case i had corsair airflow fan next to this cpu cooler and even then fits.
You can install fans on both sides of the heatsink.

docbrazen 7 months ago
@docbrazen There is not much space between, about one small finger. but i have AMD 5870.
What vid card you use?
pietjanhenk 7 months ago
Which thermal paste did you use?
docbrazen 7 months ago
@docbrazen
the one that comes with the cooler, and i still use the same. chill factor 2 or 3 from thermalright.
and for my PS3, the one i disassembled for reflow it uses coolermaster paste.

do this cooler work in a push pull ?
JamMaffia 9 months ago
@JamMaffia
There are 2 versions of this Thermalright MUX-120:
The older one (push pull with plastic pins like the boxed ones)
This newer version and the MUX-120 Black use a backplate with thumbscrews.
I prefer backplates and thumbscrews for stable work, push pins is weak and can't adjust height with it for good contact with the CPU.
pietjanhenk 9 months ago
@pietjanhenk thanks for help i was looking at the new MUX-120 Black on amazon will it in my coolermaster cm 690 ii adv ?
JamMaffia 9 months ago
@JamMaffia
yeah it will fit in, no problem at all.
at the thermalright site you can find the dimension.
pietjanhenk 9 months ago
@JamMaffia
i think i given you the wrong description.
i don't think push pull is possible with this small heatsink.
you can install a second fan on it.

when your backplate (you called metal plate or chassis) is not tight enough you could apply shorter or longer screws.
if you not want to buy other screws, than you have a point. It should be in the package.
