  • I am Christian and I have learned much usefullness from this man. Thank!

  • I want to love and be loved. I want peace. Tranquility. Serenity. Joy. Perfect stillness of desire. Holy indifference.

I want my family. And my dog. I want to ride my bike, drive my cars, and...

  • he just make such a change in my life.so happy and freedom.thanks ajahn brahm !

  • He is truly a great influential speaker.

  • 17:20-20:00 was just extremely moving and inspiring as was the whole video. thank you kindly for this

  • Buddha's teachings are just that, teachings to be reflected upon individually. It is based on understanding and wisdom; developing wisdom comes with true understanding. One basic theme: having unhealthy attachments-those that causes suffering to oneself and others. Every human being has attachments. Another theme: grasping wrong views -i.e., expecting no diversity in a diverse World. Recognizing unhealthy "habits" and learning to develop skillfulness is individually based.

  • I like these buddhist teachings and will try to practice in my daily life.

  • I will try to incorporate these values into my life ?

  • "...So turn (in repentance) to your Maker, and slay yourselves (the wrong-doers); that will be better for you in the sight of your Maker..." 2/54

    The Holy Quran

The Prophet Muhammad says: "Before your death, kill your bad senses"

Mevlana, Muslim scholar and poet, says: If you want to love, break your bad senses. Real Love means loving our Owner, Creator: Allah

Eternal peace and happiness is in Islam. The meaning of the life is in Islam.

  • Peace Is The Highest Happiness

I like the way he talks... He is the best

  • hahaha that was a good joke

  • Another fun and great talk of Ajarn Brahm. Thank you for posting. My real peace of mind is being with my beloved dogs.Well, I realize that it actually is having fun with whatever I got to do. But sometimes the degree of fun just can't be controled. I guess I still have to keep on practicing.

  • I love Ajahm Brahm. I need to take this opportunity to speak on behalf of non-humans. All sentient beings deserve to not be exploited. Please consider going vegan. We kill 56 billion animals (not including fish) every year for no other reason than their bodies 'taste good'. Non-human animals value their life as much as you or I and fight to hold onto it, please don't needlessly take it from them.

  • I view myself as primarily a Christian, but this guy makes so much more sense than the Televangicals on TV every Sunday.

  • thank you for posting this video - it was great and comforting

  • 4 people did't get 'Peace of Mind'

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Very nice speech, if only we could eliminate that annoying wind noise every 40 seconds ....I couldn't take it ...it's a shame ...

  • Have you noticed each person has an unique voice (and is of course unique)

  • How do you know the honey is honey when it drips down?

  • too bad the mic keeps hitting his garb.......

  • I am a Christian and have embraced many of the Buddhist beliefs.

However many Buddhist beliefs however I believe are Religious rather than philosophical.

Peace of mind is good, but having it as the objective of life is religious. Saying that, If you don’t make peace with the world, you are going to be one miserable Sod.

  • @greadion4 yes buddhism is not a philosophy its a spiritual thing

  • @greadion4 You wouldn't have to achieve it, but the striving for it would bring it more and more. If you're a "miserable sod" then your peace of mind is not very great is it?

  • It is Aeng the air bender!!!!

As much as I respect him , stop blowing on the microphone , or block the god damn wind!!!! I am so mad about the weather !!!!

  • People who really believe in peace have peace inside of themselves.- Wii Zelda TP

  • this is way better than church!

  • in what way and what church?

  • @AUsTjN Friend, Please read "anthology of pali canon" by Bhikku Bodhi to get more out of buddhism. also meditate Metta loving kindness and anapanasati :)

  • alfulani, if u dont like Buddhism so much, why bother looking at all Buddhism videos and giving provocative comments? just browse other videos on youtube. im sure ull like them more than the Buddhism video. then u can peacefully leave us alone.

  • for alfulani...

  • alfulani??

    Four sublime states of mind to practice;

     เมตตา: loving-kindness กรุณา: compassion มุทิตา: sympathetic joy อุเบกขา: equanimity

  • the easiest way to deal with anyone posting negativities on these discussions is to not read them.

  • I've found a good adjective for alfulani: anārya.

  • Two very human qualities that are extremely regarded in Buddhism are Compassion and Loving-kindness. Mutually with two other mental qualities, compassionate Joy and Equanimity, they are known as the Four Divine Abiding.

They are the great removers of tension, the great peace-makers in social conflict, and the great healers of wounds suffered in the struggle of existence. They level social barriers, build harmonious communities, revive joy and promote human brotherhood.

  • May noble triple gem blessings be with you Ajahn Brahm. May you live long with inner peace and good health. May you reach enlightenment as soon as possible. And the world be a happy place for everyone. "Sabbe Satta Bawanthu Suki Thaththa" (May All Beings Be Well And Happy)

Guys Buddhism is all about wisdom, loving kindness and compassionate. If you have these noble qualities, you will be a humble person and a dear person to the world. Blessings for all of you!

  • That's not true. First get to know Buddhism and then comment, Im sure you know nothing about this grate vision, its not a religion it's a vision. Ill tell you a saying by Buddha

Dont believe any thing because I say so, just analyse it by your own thoughts do research and then if you feel like its right believe it How liberal is that?

Can you name any religious leader who has given the same freedom of thinking?

  • I agreed.

  • don't judge the book by its cover, you should learn it first, i respect to all of the religion

  • Comment removed

  • when i read you comments here.. i can see the pain in your heart. I think your life is very poor..without love,joy..

I hope one day you will find peace.Leave your old way..it make you only sick. i wish you can feel the peace in my heart.

    Best wishes for you

  • nop we just want a peaceful life , you should try to learn about it .

  • meaning of life = to get from point A to point B

  • @ambientspacem What happens after point B?

  • @ambientspacem or to stay at point a and get to point b anyway.

  • @ambientspacem If all you are living for is to get to point B...you are missing the point!

  • you can't listen to this because the microphone noise!

  • ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

You would not marry a CRIMINAL who killed one man but would be happy to marry a person in the ARMY who killed hundreds of men!!!!

How do you explain this idea????

    ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

  • Does it matter how one dresses? It's better to wear a simple robe or something than slick Nike trainers or whatever. Materialism is pointless.

  • hehe, a rope can be blown in a wind and reveal everything you have. Not going to happen with Nike trainers.

  • They are practical, yes, but only as much as any other pair of trainers (preferably not made by a giant greedy corporation).

Personally, I don't wear robes but even so I try not to be too materialistic.

  • Nice lecture. Appreciate you uploading these.

  • the dali lama is on twitter and so should you!!

  • This was a hilarious talk, by the way now even the Pope has a youtube channel, but this is definitely more worthwhile watching! Sabbe satta sukhi hontu!

  • I love Ajahn Brahm!

  • I am amazed about these talks, moreover I do enjoy them a lot.

  • I'm having a terrible time making peace of mind with that microphone rumbling noise.

  • i dont know why that got a poor comment rating, thats hilarious

  • Yea, Ajahn Brahm's next talk should be on religious prudism.

I was being silly, despite the imperfection in my mind about the microphone distortion, I still quite enjoyed the talk.

  • I think this was one of the best talks in a long time from Ajahn Brahm :)

    Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

  • Thank you for another great talk

  • Ajahn Brahm in high quality video. So awesome!!!

  • Thanks for the talk. :o)

    With Metta

  • What is the audience saying to Ajahn Brahm at the end of the talk?

    Thanks...

  • Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu. I think it means rejoice rejoice rejoice, but don't quote me on that.

  • It means 'it is well' (x 3).

  • Thankyou for clearing that up, for me and for others.

  • You say that you care for the people how don't have peace of mind and you post a video 55:37Min and you think a person that not have peace of min can sitt still for that long?

    ++Love++

  • then you can click my video response above and then come back and watch this video.

  • I really enjoyed this talk....Thankyou.

  • Thanks for the talk. :o)

Actually I haven't watched it so far, but I would like to quickly recommend another talk from a Theravadin monk, Bhante Vimalaramsi, about meditation and emotion-management techniques in general. It's nearly two hours long, but I found it extremely helpful. If someone is interested, search for "vimalaramsi naturopathy" in Google Video.
