  • SAAB were utra cool band you do not see many bands now that could lace their boots. good day to you sir

  • Yeah, good stuff. You gotta try and get ahold of the "Rock Drill" album. To me it's a classic. One after another it keeps bringing it.

  • Great.. havnt heard this for yrs. In fact i got here from watching killing joke and reading some of the similarities between the 2. (zal cleminson and geordie)

  • Alex Harvey played a big role of influence in the singing/phrasing style of Bon Scott. Fucking awesome. Too "weird" and "crazy" for the mainstream world market.

  • @zzzxxyy Yes he did!

  • lalalala

  • The best rock band nobody ever heard of (in the U.S. anyway). The other side of the water Alex and his band are legend. They had a chance to make a name here with a TV gig and ended up playing Dehila. Not their best work. If they hit it with any one of about 50 other songs they would have been big here. The selection on You Tube could be better. If you can find the "Rock Drill" album. One of the best rock albums ever. It will give you a hard on.

  • Let me tell ya I worked in a record store in ohio in the 70s the owner a Nam Vet turned me on to Alex, man in the jar but then heard it on fm and faith healer but they really didnt get the play they should have or they would have been more known. I try to turn every body on to sahb some of my favs + framed, compliments, stone eater, sharks teeth, next, amos mose, midnight moses, don't care what anybody says he rocks sorry I never saw him live but I do own a lp Live and Next couple cds Drm tmro b

  • @428chase Respect man, saw them lots, shook the good mans hand in 75.

  • I was fortunate to see them in Macon Georgia in the mid 70's when they opened for Jethro Tull, what a show they put on. Zal Cleminson is a fantastic guitar player and Alex Harvey was a definite showman. So glad I got to see them.

  • Yo RevSyd - my first exposure to SAHB came by way of Cleveland as well. College bud that turned me on to it was of the same ilk as Alex, I believe....... insanely clever, eclectic, brilliantly talented, charismatic - and always wearing a crazy-eyed smile that hinted of the edge of some great revelation. He is now Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of one of our Great Southern States in the USA.

  • luckyu

  • Harvey has been dead 30 years next year

  • HE IS THE SHIT

  • Frank Zappa much?

  • Listen up!!! :0)

  • Sublime. Shame the ending fades out here. God, how great it would be to see them again as they were back in the '70's. Amazing.

  • @yourpaljc I saw them do Hot City Symphony Tour twice. Fall 74 and Spring 75. Great memories.

  • One of the great but unfortunately forgotten legends of rock. A local (Cleveland) DJ caught the SAHB when they toured Ohio in the early 70s and has been giving them some airtime ever since, so Alex Harvey isn't entirely unknown here.

An absolutely amazing band, and Harvey's earlier swing/jazz stuff is good too, he was an incredible entertainer. Check it out!

  • saw Alex Harvey live in 1977 at the Joker night club in Elyria Ohio. what a show it was. RIP Alex.

  • They played one of their earliest gigs at my school in Hertfordshire - I was 16 and just gob smacked - having only really heard Hendrix other than pop music of the day - funny how they don't look or sound dated 30 years later....

  • call me a cab,call me a cab,, legends

  • For all you unfortunates who never knew or saw SAHB - They were a combination of Theatre, TV, Comedy, Rock, Folk, Lyrical poetry and above all....the gigantic personality of ALEX HARVEY -the word Legend REALLY applies here!

  • saw alex harvey at the joker in elyria ohio one of the best shows ever. i think in 1975

  • brilliant. ty.
