  • Thank You For Posting; All the socially acceptable religions is Zardoz, I realized that when I viewed this motion picture as a child, therefore consider 11 September 2001, 7 July 2002, Sharia Law, immigrant/asylum-seekers, 'grooming of children/paedophilia', suicide-bombers, opium/cocaine/ecstasy/qat, and the circumcision of female, or male children, or adults is Zardoz.

Oppose all this via voting B.N.P.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • Wow! All I got out of it was a floating head!

  • Thank You For Replying; A statue of 'Nelson Madella' is a complete waste of brass, because a statue of 'Benjamen Disraeli' giver of 'India the Trojan-Horse' is brassing-off Parliament Square.

    Cheers!

  • the penus is eviil and guns are good?????

  • Hands down, this is my favorite Monty Python movie.

  • A huge floating stonehead filled with gold and ak-47 rifles, the penis is evil and men wearing leather stockings and panties and goddamn bullet belts around the sholders.

    Best movie ever.

  • rubbing the agenda in our faces as usual

  • aww shit, the penis is evil?

  • GREATEST MOVIE EVER!

  • The big head thing is a pervert...

  • "The penis is evil". So in the future the NRA has become a feminist organization.

  • You could detect a sharp note of rancid cheesiness when this turkey came out in 1974, It flopped at the box office, and many were the hilarious comments about Connery's red diaper with suspenders. A truly embarrassing movie. I like Roger Ebert's words on the film the best. To paraphrase:'it's like a bunch of stoned set designers made it, starred in it and directed it.' People who think this movie is profound would intellectually drown in a teaspoon of ideas.

  • WTF? The Penis is Evil?!? Who made this movie? And, more important: What kind of weed did he smoke?

  • I can think of few films that combine the profound and the risible as irresponsibly as "Zardoz." John Boorman has the courage of Werner Herzog, the command of film technique of Douglas Sirk, and the taste of Benny Hill. (If that makes him sound like a second-rate Ken Russell, well, at least Ken has never given us Sean Connery in a miniskirt and red go-go boots.)

  • were you alive in the 70s? or voting? Or aware of the attack which was made upon the constitution by Nixon?, or the stand for freedom made by people voting in areas for the first time? or women going into the workforce in larger numbers and expecting to be respected? Or the bravery and patriotism of those willing to go to jail to stop the Viet Nam war, keep more kids from being killed for nothing. BTW the 2000s are trying to roll back clock to pre 60s and 70s. Fools are letting them do it.

  • The above comment was in reply to uthoria, about the 70s being worthless. I wanted to reply to him it got placed here instead.

  • Despite suffering from some cheesy scenes and effects later on in the film, this is a highly underated and unfortunately almost forgotten. It has underlying profound philosophical implications ever more relevant now and the future. Great opening scene and thanks for introducing me to Beethoven's wonderful 7th.

  • Go Forth and Kill...Wow now that's what makes a great God ya know, such inspiration for the masses, If there is any Oz Wizardry at play here, it'd be the method by which Zardoz manipulates these whole Greek statue mask headed people to follow the yellow brick road of collective chaos and death which they're already on when he meets them, and hope to detour a few select, that they might stumble across some semblence of humanity along the way , as for the rest, Fate Awaits, Zardoz has spoken

  • i love this film... its great to get stoned and watch it.

check out my ww1 short film

    "the trooper"

    watch?v=H1dG1IK-aqc

  • This movie is "The Matrix" of its time.

  • Why wasn't it as popular?

  • because it was stupid!

  • "The gun is good!" and "The penis is evil!" looks like the NRA counts feminists amongst its ranks.

  • No it sounds more like Republicans.

  • I agree

  • What is with the reference to Death Note (Kira) at the end?

    I don't think that's taken from Zardoz.

  • A giant stone head with glittery eyes that says penises are bad and spits out guns. WOAH!!

  • ZARDOZ!!!

  • this hippie freak could only make sense to a serious sci-fi nerd who likes to trip on LSD so needless to say i loved it

  • Ummm... dude? Hippies? Free love, peace loving hippies? Are we thinking the same kind of hippie here?

  • Nice!

  • oh this is so metal it makes me want to tear my face off

  • i'd forgotten the penis was evil since the last time I saw this about 25 years ago. ha ha ha

  • You can probably rent it at like Blockbuster or Netflix.

  • I shall try. It looks like the best acid trip ever.

  • wtf

  • Connery in ass-less chaps and a nappy/diaper.

    I was stunned.

  • Sean Connery turned down "Live and Let Die" to make "Zardoz." ... wow

  • "THE GUN IS GOOD."

    "The gun is good!"

    "THE PENIS IS EVIL."

    *silence*

How did they expect audiences to react to that? Oh well, at least they added some crazy imagery to make up for it.

  • I laughed my fucking ass off when he said "The penis is evil"

  • PENIS IS EVIL! LOL!

  • If the penis is bad because sends out seed why doesn't Zardoz just shed out condoms instead of guns?

  • he's catholic?

  • Now there's a confusing religious image... Sounds like my kind of idol, though.

  • The Penis is evil! The penis shoots seeds and makes new life to poison the Earth with the plague of Men. LOL!

  • What is this, an NRA meeting?

  • Is this an NRA member's wet dream???

  • Military Boot Camp Chant:

This is my rifle. (Point to weapon.)

This is my gun. (Point to penis.)

This one's for shooting. (Point again.)

This one's for fun. (Point again.)

Coincidence or a writer with a twisted sense of humor? :-)

  • Huuuuuuuuuuge boredom?

  • Probably. I think the script was kind of an Age of Aquarius thing from the 1960's. While women secretly ruled the planet; all men were cattle, manipulated by (the wi) ZARD (of) OZ (whose voice sounds like it might be Patrick Stewart).

  • lol penis

  • ...and you, poor creatures. Who conjured _you_ from the clay???

  • This looks cool!

  • All hail the all-powerful ZARDOZ

  • This movie is awesome! But you have to watch it with a bunch of friends while very drunk. You won't get it otherwise. 8D

  • alone and on mushrooms works too.

  • This was actually on Encore? I haven't seen this movie.

  • THE PENIS IS EVIL
