With respect to D you will be baffled by how many basic words and grammar, you already "know" or are able to easily recognise - lots & lots of basic verbs, nouns, adjectives etc.

D can often have the apperance of some sort of "strange" pseudo E., so to us learning E is fairly easy, as if we /vi "by magic" already / allerede (!) know half / halv of /af it/det from/ fra start and don't have to think very much ;-) It often feels more like expanding our own language.
