Without Amos and Andy, there would be no Honeymooners. If there were no Honeymooners, there would be no Flintstones, Simpsons or Family Guy. These guys were EXREMELY important in the development of American humor.
Most of the tv show plots were Amos and Andy trying to con each other with the cab driver being the moral conscience of the group! I found the plots both humorous and entertaining, never viewed it as racist, more along the lines of lessons of how you reap what you sow!

Interesting how they played it very straight in the early episodes before it evolved into the funniest of shows on the air. also, there is no background audience track which gives it more of a realistic facade.
