Yes we have some culpability but the fact is that the cartels control both our officials and the Mexican officials. It's not racism it's about money so don't play the race card or you won't be taken seriously. Muslim jihadists are willing to pay money to get terrorists through the border. The only answer is to militarize the border and shoot anyone who illegally crosses it.
We should boycott Mexican Marijuana until they clean up their act. Too many lives are being lost along our borders due to the cartels who control it. 90% of the product they are moving across the border is Marijuana. We have to separate right from wrong. Its not just "Weed is Great" at all costs. Buy American and tell your dealer that you wont buy that crap anymore. They don't care about your health and spray all kinds of nasty stuff on it.
We buy electronics from japan and sell guns to them. If your "logic" were true, than there would be widespread crime in all countries with trade agreements that include weaponry. But this isn't the case. Thus, even though consumerism is underlying, it's not causal. What IS causal is the NATURE of these businesses specifically.since drugs are illegal it requires these companies to have militia for personal protection. That is what should be fixed. You can't stop all drug consumption with law.
The only reason there is a problem with the drug trade is because the Christian controlled US government picked a fight with drugs that’s unwinnable. There’s a large demand for drugs the world over, this is not a special case in the United States. If we’re keeping score the UN says the per capita use of opiates in Iran is 4.6 times higher than in that in the US, 2.3 times higher in Afghanistan, and 1.3 times higher in Pakistan. Religiosity common between the four of them, coincidence?
The People's Revolutionary Front: The second Mexican Revolution call to arms November 20 2011!! Frontera revolucionaria del Pueblo: La segunda revolucion Mexicana Ya basta! Noviembre 20 2011!!
Sami our prison system created the violence in Central America. It is not just Mexico it is all over Central America. The beheadings started not in Mexico, but El Salvador it is going up to the US Border. If the cartels were not in our bordertowns and tourist areas you would never have heard about it. The Pan-American Highway has always been dangerous for a very very very long long time since 1970's.
Drugs from Mexico make it through countless U.S. states but there are no massive cartel armies here. Sure, drugs get to the U.S. through Mexico but so does, beef, vehicles, textiles, etc. So go ahead blame America for Mexico's inept government but don't forget to thank them for their FTAs and fueling the Mexican economy.
I agree, the problem is caused by the Americans themselves, although not by the consumers but government and those who fear drug use so support this 'War On Drugs', just like the 'War on Terrorism' it only adds to the problem.
Farmers, pharmaceutical companies and the retail sector could take jobs away from people in Afghanistan, Mexico and Columbia, reduce unemployment and increase tax revenues whilst saving billions the on cost of prisons.
this whole cycle could be destroyed by legalizing and controlling the drug market. if marijuanna and cocain were legal and could be legally manufactured by private industries in america (and taxed!) than these problems would not be occuring in mexico as a result of american culture. the drug war is a covert war on other countries and is used to attack otherwise harmless americans.
However, what newspapers do you read that never mention the correlation between American consumers and weapon manufacturers and the Mexican drug war? I think it is standard for non right-wing news sources (need I name the principle one?) to discuss this.
To call US demand "the cause" is dicey. Not all of the fundamental social ills in Mexico are our fault. I think the main problem is social inequality--an increasing problem in the US also.
Your dead on with this one. The only solution for this problem is the legalization of drugs. Prohibition never works it just leads to more and far worse crimes.
And lastly my friend, America has more arms makers then anywhere in the world, Most of whom are NOT controled by the goverment, They will sell there guns to who ever can afford them. such as armaLite. I find nouthing wrong with free enterprise, Mexico needs to take care of Mexicos problems, Don't ask my childern to give up there rights to own guns etc, For another country thats totaly Insain!
Shipping the drugs for there owns whom you never see, who wear suits and ties and are white collers. You cannot ask Americans to Give up Guns, Just becouse Some bullshits happening in mexico, Look at Mexicos history? its been Killing its people by the Ton, Since it gained its independance from spain, corrupt goverments, villages massicard by the army and revolts and rebellions, long before america ever stook a finger in mexicos pie lol ITs some What been cursed.
They don't make AK7s in america and never have, Now to agree with you on the flip side, Corrupt police and ATF and CIA Agents Do sell guns to mexican cartels that they control behind curtain, However, Alot of them are Purely mexican, and the goverment also of mexic has a stake in the money as well as other goverments as far as isreal and the Uk. And even China are in mexico trying to control the money flow and drugs, Just not America, Lots of money to be made, and the mexicans are just frontmen
Well, your only half Right, You also forget canada, And then Europe and the rest of the world that they ship to as well, Secondly, Most of the guns the cartels Use are old eastern block and russin and chinese made Ak47s etc, Some old m16s from the drug wars in colubia taken off the dead columbia soldiers etc and AR15s, When they kill them they also take there guns and resell them aswell, Most of the guns taken are Very old models that are no longer used by the american military.
Sami, why aren’t you calling out Mexicans for smuggling drugs into America KNOWING FULL WELL that these drugs will create crack babies, addicts, poverty, crime, domestic violence, etc?
Just like Americans are accountable for their own ghettos and crack babies, Mexico is culpable for its own violence. Now I know you aren’t the most patriotic guy out there but it would be nice if you gave a consistent and balanced perspective instead of polarizing literally *EVERYTHING*
@a7neu As is said, the most patriotic thing to do is have dissent, and not just for the sake of it, but if something is obviously wrong, if the American founders were alive, i guarantee they would agree with most of the stuff i say concerning politics than most other supposed 'patriots'. what's patriotic today? waving a flag with a bunch of stars that symbolise states you can't even name? supporting unreasonable wars based on lies and simple resource interests? continued.....
@SamiZaatari "if the American founders were alive, i guarantee they would agree with most of the stuff i say concerning politics than most other supposed 'patriots'."
Roflmao! If the American founders were alive, the US would invade Mexico and slaughter the source of the problems. Much like they did in the first Barbary war when they stamped out muslim pirate activity.
@a7neu watching other countries go through chaos because of our own corrupt ways? yes, mexican cartels should get a lot of blame, but so should the consumers who fuel and finance that chaos through their need for the product that's being given to them! and just staying quiet about it and acting like mexico is just being mexico is the unpatriotic thing to do when you know your playing a major hand in it.
@SamiZaatari I think the group that has the biggest fault are the Mexican citizens. For years, they bribed politicians, cops, government employees ETC. They live in a society were corruption was/is acceptable and a "motto" ( El Que No Tranza, No Avansa).. I remember growing up in Mexico we could pay the cop 10 pesos and He will let us go. The citizens let this go by accepting that type of lifestyle... Now, it is a mess. I don't think America should be blame for this.
@johnpolanco18 i feel sorry for you dude. you own country and you don;t know anything what america did? you must read the history of mexico. how mexican politics system got corrupted, by who and when. these government employee are forced to do this to live a normal life so they can eat 3 times a day. just like you and i always want to. maybe you are better position than they are. i really feel sorry for you that you hardly know anything or you may be don't even care how others live their life.
I agree with you, like mexican i know that the cartels are in mexico long time ago but before our goverment make deals with the cartels so before you never listen that inocent people are dying just there being dying pple of the cartels. But now our goverment declare the war to the cartels so thats why we listen about many dead pple. Mexico is just a door for the drug to enter to America so, I think our president can make a deal with the cartels under the ground and bring there war to america.
Of course the sad thing is that people will keep on seeking the oblivion that drugs give them for those few fleeting moments. That is part of human nature that cannot be ignored. Given that no amount of prohibition, clamping down, etc will ever stop this from happening the governments should, instead of driving it underground and fuelling the black market profiteering and crime cartels, regulate the market and even make money from tax revenue.
They can get guns from all over the world it just ain't the United States and they sale drugs to the whole world not just the United States and it is a backward third world piece of crap country all the illegal immigrants run to United States when they should stay there and make a stand and take there country back rise up and get rid of the corrupt politicians the corrupt police and the corrupt military and the cartels and clean that place up it is called revolution.
@humm1na well guess what? I didn't really know this until a few months back, i was ignorant and just thought it's just all hell breaking loose in mexico, and many other people aren't aware of this! :D i was in the ignorant camp for a while in this area.
If there was no drugs then there would be no crime.
If there was no crime then there would be no jails.
If there was no jails then there will be no need for high taxes.
If there was not high taxes then there would be no need for a large government.
If there was not a large government then the power would be in the hands of the people. That is exactly what they don't want. Rather, they would prefer to expand the government.
There are some problems with what you say, if the owner of Pepsi goes off and uses his profits from Pepsi to murder a bunch of people in horrific ways, are the consumers of Pepsi more responsible for these horrible acts then the owner himself?
The specific person who commits the horrific act is responsible for the crime, not the argued enablers of that person. Personal Responsibility.
Just alter system of consuming and legalize it and quite making illegal drug dealers rich.
@LetsPLAYnice100 the reason why they have power to murder is because of the money they make, and the money they make is from american buyers, and buyers know that when their buying drugs, their not buying it from your average joe, but buying it from people with connections to much larger groups who you know are involved in this kind of stuff.
I agree they make the majority of there profit from American distribution, but I think the point still stands that we must rest real responsibility on the leader's of these gang-like enterprises, who profit from and create the horrific acts.
Your small level user is the base supply of their money, but the power plays, horrific acts and the money deals are done by those who own the business. It just seems you have shifted the onus on the victim.
Also, people are in fact getting their drugs from the vague "so-called" average-joes, who you rightly state exist as some bottom-feeder of a larger food web, but still the point stands if a horrific act occurs, the specific perpetrator of that act is ethically culpable, but economic supporters of that individual have limited culpability. The major chunk of culpability always rests on the specific actors themselves. Do we criticize the serial killer or the serial killers employer?
The problem is not the consumption, consumption of illegal drugs does not cause any more violence than alcohol, probably less, but where are the alcohol cartels waging war? The problem is that some drugs are illegal, the should ALL be legalised and licenced.
Making drugs illegal creates a monopoly for criminals, a market where risks involved are reflected in the price forcing addicts to commit crimes in order to buy.
Yeah Bro Americans are just all over the place.. anything wrong in this world somehow traces back to the USA! And American people don't even know about this. They ride around their Fat Asses in SUVs polluting the planet.

Sami, I'm not sure what your point is with this video. Everyone knows this stuff, even the conservatives who hate Mexicans and want to close the borders.
The only way to end this is an open border. North American Union FTW! The US needs more Mexicans to combat the Evangelical Fundamentalists. The Mexicans are mistreated and exploited and as long as we treat immigrants like criminals, we won't be able help them and deal with the bigger problems. The white south and west are a bunch of hypocrites. To be perfectly honest, if we instutionalized instead of criminilized these substances there wouldn't even be a drug war.
