I did a little research, trying to google that question yields little results. I tried: "No internet required", "Not online", and numerous other phrases, and still only got online games. Which shows thats really the only choices "They" want us to have. HOWEVER, I did find a site that specializes in "none internet" games called "Good Old Games". Alot of the ones you listed are there. I don't know if you know about them, but you might check them out. Hope this helps. :)

The unfortunate thing about the games coming out now is that they either require the internet or their mmo. It seems the "Powers that be" really want to be in our business, either monitoring us as we play or keeping tract of our stats and strategies by requiring us to log in before we play our single players at home, ie' Skyrim. It suck to me to have to have their permission (log in), everytime I want to play a game I paid $60 for. Big brother really wants to keep tabs on us.

Hi. I for one really enjoyed Mass effect if it;s to talk about more modern rpgs. It's a good one but idk if you are into sc-fi :). You should definitely check out Morrowind as i find its story more complex than Obliblivion's and somehow more interesting. I saw you are playing PlanescapeT. Mount and blade is pretty fun, there isn't much story and it seems like there isn't much content...so they make the game very repetitive but it's really fun IMO, i love shooting people from horseback with my bow lol and you can siege castles ...it just starts to get annoying because when you finally get an army, everyone wants to fight over and over, and you can't get to a castle to resupply food. So fun, addicting but gets annoying

dragon age origins, prince of persia(2008)they gave the characters a lot of personality. fallout 3 is ok....but it's weird because it's kinda like a FPS but...being that it's kinda a RPG they made the FPS part really shit, so to shoot anyone sometimes you gotta use the kinda automated system which is borring sooo....i probably wouldn't recommend this game for you. best bet is Prince of persia 2008

Out of your list to check out the best are Vampire Bloodlines, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate 2 and Deus Ex. If you like futuristic cyberpunk play Deus ex. If you prefer horror play System Shock 2. both masterpieces. The original Fallout games are great as well. avoid any shit from Bethesda they dont do stories or anything interesting. Also Bioware arent half the team they used to be, Dragon Age is a poor mans Baldur's Gate 2 and inferior in every way (BG 2 is Biowares best game by a landslide)

If you want to play an RPG with an amazing story you should play XenoSaga 1,2,3 for the playstation 2. Chances are that your computer can emulate a ps2 and you can get the games for free. The Longest Journey (the game from 2000 is better than the sequel) or

Beyond Good And Evil. Those aren't RPG's (they have som rpg elements) but they have a weary good story.

I liked Gothic 1 and 2 + add on most. I ramdomly start playing them now and then and enjoy it every time again because of the best atmophere in a PC RPG I've experienced. (Shadow of the Colossus for PS2 is also very special)

You shouldn't waste your time on Gothic 3 and/or 4, they totaly ruined the series in my opinion.

the graphics aren't so good at the first and second but based on great story

and fun to play.

i didn't liked the 3rd because of the combat and more but still kinda enjoyable.

the 4th is great, good graphics , good story line , new nameless hero who helps the previous hero to cure a curse, and nice combat.

I recommend Baldur's gate 2 if you enjoy offline npc games, if you've haven't played Baldur's gate 1 then try out both. Personally i love the series great story lots of sub-plots and twists to the main plot and you never get tired of the game after finishing it just once (in my opinion).
