hmm... My brother and sister went to a concert, and instead of taking me, they took my sisters husband (at the time) and all he did was complain. Mannn, i wish i coulda been there..
saw them in phillie and kicked ass. best live band i've seen hands down. chuck is so sick on bass. love how chetro has his eyes open like 10% of the time.
i loooovvee this band more than anything... i cant wait to catch you guys next time youre in charlotte! i love music with a real messages... its so rare now!
This song was so much better on the peace between nations EP... i hate to sound like one of "those guys" but honestly i had that EP, then i bought the album and some producer or something got to them and revamped (ruined) alot of songs on there. it's just disappointing. although, new songs on that album were solid.
@timbothehippy i saw the two of them. in orlando. state radio was far more impressive. i got to meet the whole band. it was an awesome experience. all three signed my wage peace shirt. chad even answered some questions of mine about his gas can guitar. next time you can "almost" go, GO.
@ronkorz Yeah I know, I was gonna chastise you haha. I saw them together last summer in Boston and both bands were equally amazing. Although I liked State Radio a bit more because i knew more songs.
To clear up any confusion this song is about a older man whose wife's health is declining and she is forced to live in a nursing home. To pay for this the husband gets a job doing labor at the nursing home. The man is starting to get older too and becoming unable to do his daily tasks at the nursing home. He is pleading with his boss, Mr. larkin not to fire him even though he is getting older and can't work as well because he needs the money for his wife.
Pete Francis has a great band going, too. I really enjoyed his most recent album. His style has definitely evolved since Dispatch, but its still fantastic.
No this song is about a guy who's wife had to go into a nursing home and he wanted to go with her so he was given a job by the game code-named Mr. Larkin. This is what Sybil said.
they're so great live, i saw them at a really small venue and i was like a yard away from him and i met him afterwards....truly like being in the presence of a god
Yeah there are two versions, one on Simmer Kane and one on Us Against the Crown. I used to like the Simmer Kane one, but then I got the other one and I loved it so much more. Which version do you have? The Us Against the Crown one is probably the one you have. It has bass in it. The Simmer Kane one doesn't.
seeing them play tonight!
