@rain12man12 some heroes are just straight copies with slight modifications, so its not too many to relearn. by being more reactive i mean if you do something, like clicking the ground around you, you get instant response while in wc3 you have both the lag part (fixed to some extent by dotazilla/lc/others) but also like this "clumpsyness" of the wc3 engine. if you've played sc2 and compare it to wc3 you have a pretty good reference of what i mean

i can see how having less "clumpy" controls would make for a more precise game, but doesnt that make it also quite mechanical? i think part of the skill required in dota is interpreting your opponents reaction times and movements, while incorporating this lag/hulky animation style. i guess it comes down them being different games, and maybe comparing them doesnt prove either is better.

btw, are the maps exactly the same?

he started out with near full hp + about half mana (plus the tower) vs 3 heroes. excellent use of the fog to his advantage. god, i wish i were just half as good as him. :(

leshrac failed imo. they couldve killed zeus and vs wouldve survived if leshrac hit and animation cancelled when chasing zeus at 0:13, wouldve got 2 hits in and vs's missle wouldve killed. es also didnt hit his stun when he blocked, which was possible at that angle. still amazing play by merlini

Don't get me wrong, Merlini's one of the best players out there but this vid doesn't really show INCREDIBLE skill.

Sure, he used a tango so he'd be in a fog spot to increase his chances of survival but ES wasn't very bright at the beginning, only blocking the way (not even hurting zeus with the stun) and tower diving and Lesh looked like he didn't have any reflexes at all, seeing as Merlini just walked past him at 0:10
