  • Great comedy and one of the best holiday movies of all time

  • anyone knows the link to this?

  • Best Thanksgiving movie hands down!!!

  • Best Thanksgiving movie ever of all time!!!

  • Thumbs up if you're watching this on Thanksgiving Day!

  • @CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 meh, i watched some assparade....sign o the times.......

  • @deviatea The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is another one of my favorite holiday traditions.

  • @CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 aha, pounding my gf's asshole is a fav activity on tgd!!!

  • this boys and girls is a lil something we like to call classic!!!

this film is soooooooooooo funny and not dirty funny like you get nowadays but intelligently funny!!

"your going the wrong way" mum loves that line! lol

plus steve martin you can't really go wrong!

  • The only THANKSGIVING movie I know of, and as a film itself is great.

  • God bless John Candy!

  • @racermac1988 thx for the spoiler alert,i was just about to watch the movie on netflix :(

  • Willmawwwww!!

  • I love the part at 0:42.

Such a cool shot of St. Louis.

  • A comedic classic indeed.

But few people realize the deepness to this film. Especially the end scene at the train station when Del confesses his wife's been dead for three years.

  • @racermac1988 talk about spoiler! you ruined it for all the ppl who aint seen it! :-/

in future keep juicy details to yourself!

i'm happy i got to see this b4 reading your comment! otherwise it may have taken away the emotional impact of the film! :-/

  • If there was ever a movie that deserved a sequel, it was this one, with the original cast.

  • Two happy clams, whistling down the road.

  • Woah i didn't know their was a 3 hour oringinal cut.

    They have to release that.

  • @AutovoltGTS 4 blu ray

  • If they ever decide to do a remake, I could see Ted Danson as Neal and either John Goodman or (if he can do an American accent) Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid from Harry Potter) as Del.

  • @TheComedyfan123 you cant remake something like this, the chemistry between these 2 was great.

  • I'd pay a shit ton of money to see the original three hour version...

  • @CitySkin09 didn't know bout that! would love to see it!

  • the original version of due date!!!

  • Why does the trailer DEFINITELY have scenes that are not in my dvd version (nor VHS copy, for that matter)?

  • Why does the trailer DEFINITELY have scenes that are not in my dvd version (nor VHS copy, for that matter)?

  • Why does the trailer DEFINITELY have scenes that are not in my dvd version (nor VHS copy, for that matter)?

  • Alot of these scenes didn't make the movie.

  • I saw Due Date and kept thinking of this movie. Especially when just before they crash, Robert downey looks at the dude driving and the dude turns into the laughing devil... that scene is a straight copy from this movie.

  • I;m sorry, I know this came first so I'm accusing Due Date, but isn't this essentially the same exact thing as Due Date?

  • @Boomation Plains, Trains and Automobiles came out first so you can't compare it as if they copied Due Date... IT WAS 24 year ahead of them and 1,000,000,000,000,000 better then Due Date!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

  • @Danigurlks I know... I'm not saying Planes, Trains, and Automobiles came first. I'm saying Due Date ripped this off! I just didn't know how to put it into words in the original comment, so yeah... I'm accusing Due Date for ripping this off!

  • modern comic actors like owen wilson and vince vaughn could never compete with the 80's likes of candy, belushi, martin & ackroyd

  • Due Date copied this moive.

  • @GollumSupernova I KNOW!! that is the first thing I thought of when I saw the trailer for Due Date. This movie is so much better then Due Date!!!

  • i laught to much looking that movie

  • best movie ever! man John Candy is awesome,he should still be here.

  • I really wish this film had been about 15-20 minutes longer. It looks as if there may have been a lot of really funny deleted material, and with certain scenes missing you can sense some gaps in narrative continuity.

  • totally watching this right now

  • Those arent pillows....

  • Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Best Thanksgiving movie ever made.

  • I've seen this movie many, many times...and it's still funny.

  • This trailer doesn't do it justice at all.

  • Man, Due Date and this movie... the resemblance is uncanny.

  • Sucks that like half the lines and scenes in this trailer weren't in the actual movie. :(

  • I remember watching this movie with my dad around Christmas time. He LOVED this movie. He passed away recently so I decided to look this up. It brings back memories for me.

  • @Bubbles5741 Then the movie did a job well done

  • Comment removed

  • @Bubbles5741 same with me, good memories watching this with fam over the holidays

  • @Bubbles5741 the whole world is like that not just movies, girls are used to sell cars, food, everything even medicine

  • rip jon did u kw that family guys peter griffins character was based on the character jon candy plays in this if u watch it u will see its mad :) x

  • I think the pizza scenes have been deleted from the film, i bet if you get the movie on dvd, you'll find the pizza scenes in Deleted Scenes in the Special Features!

  • I absolutely love this film it's amazing!

  • If this movie came out today people would call it boring. Its all about racial and toilet humor now....sadly.

  • @Wardfolio agreed. this is a hilarious film, they just dont make movies like the ones from the 80s anymore

  • "...those aren't PILLOWS!!!!!"

  • hilarious

  • How about a singalong?

Steve Martin: Three coins in a fountain...(crowd groans)

John Candy: Flintstones, meet the Flintstones...(all join in)

Moral of the story... Know your audience!

  • Love this movie so much, John Candy and Steve Martin are such great duo in it.

  • Best movie of all time! I would pay a lot of money to see the full three hours!

  • Is it just me, or have comedy films today lost their innocence and charm?

It seems today that almost all comedies are rated r and are full of sex and sex jokes

  • @XMOO7 It's not just you, comedy has gone flatrate. I miss those 80s, where comedy used to have a higher level. It's not just that you are brought to tears from laughing but also there's a moral to the story. Perfect film.

  • @XMOO7 They certainly don't make comedies like this anymore or great comedians like John Candy God rest his soul.

  • great clasic film, i would love it if paramount edited and released the 3 hour verison

  • This is one of my all time favorite movies, I still cry like a baby at the last scene. I think it's Hughes best work.

  • @BowedOak1 Its sad now to think that John Hughes and John Candy are sadly no longer with us, thats what brings real tears to my eyes at the end.

  • I remember seeing this trailer years ago and recognizing a handful of scenes that didn't make the final cut. Among them that doesn't seem to be included here was of Steve Martin brushing his teeth. Sure wish they'd release the Blu-ray with all deleted scenes and a commentary by Steve Martin!

  • @Bruceleeeroy

Actually I think it was John Candy brushing his teeth while in giant blue pajamas.

  • @Bruceleeeroy the closest thing to a bluray i could find was watching it on sky movies HD. It would be nice if they released this on disk

  • do guys know this is a comedy drama film?

  • god trailers in the 80's sucked... found this movie in our old VHS collection... gonna watch it tonight

  • i watched this movie when i was 8 and i loved it and now i want to see it again!

  • I watched this film, and oh my gosh its so moving aswell as funny! I loved John Candys character and he nearly made me cry at the end when he said he was homeless :( i would recommend it to anyone who hasn't watched it, 10/10 <3

  • awesome movie, saw that in the theatre back in the day ... good memories.

Also nice to briefly see extra footage that looks like it was cut (Neil eating Pizza, Del acting weird at 1:02).

  • This movie is amazing. For anyone who didnt watch it you have to watch it.

  • never seen this film but it looks awesome !

  • @B4IRUTUARU16

This should be required viewing for everyone, it's that good.

  • i love this movie!!!

  • So awesome!

  • never seen this at all, what a brilliant film 10/10, only an average trailer imo.

R.I.P John Hughes & John Candy

  • lol dont remember those pizza scenes

  • I was thinking the same thing. I heard the original cut was over 3 hours and they cut an hour and a half off. Apparently the footage is still around somewhere at Paramount

  • im not surprised....2 great comedians and a great director.....uve got a formula for many hours of footage. They should make a special edition....the current dvd has nothing on it

  • @JustDoWhatITellYou You're right, John Hughes himself said that there does exist a 3 hour version but not all together, all that extra footage is still sitting in a Paramount vault somewhere. he also said that it's probably deteriorated by now but i'm hoping that part's not true since i would love to imagine that all the extra footage will one day be found, put together and be available on DVD or Blu-Ray as a complete, uncut edition! i can guarantee you that i'll certainly buy a copy!
  • @JustDoWhatITellYou a 3 hour cut?! Wow, I'd love to see that.

  • @JustDoWhatITellYou An hour and a half ?? Wow ! They could have put all that stuff on the DVD !

  • @Xtos1989 i don't either :/

  • @Xtos1989 looks like some of these scenes were cut from the movie :/

  • @Xtos1989 I think they cutt them out for some reason!

  • @Xtos1989 - Remember that trailers are often cut long before the actual final cut of the movie is sent to theatres.

  • Comment removed

  • @Xtos1989 It wasn't in the movie.

  • Another comment:

It's a damn shame John Candy died. He was so funny in this and The Burbs

  • John Candy wasn't in The 'burbs. O_o

Corey Feldman was, though. PIZZA DUDE! XD

  • This was the only good Steve Martin movie. After that he just became a total duche

  • nah parenthood was good to as was the jerk

  • People may scoff at the idea of Candy being a great actor...but the point is comedy acting is probably the hardest style for any actor to pull off successfully....making people laugh is one of the most difficult skills going...this is why i regard Peter Sellers as one of the greatest actors of his generation.

I think in this role...Candy was simply outstanding and it is one of the greatest comedy acting performances I've seen.

    I love this movie.

  • Thanks for this upload! It's great to see a glimpse of some footage that isn't in the movie.

  • This was the first film that introduced me to Steve Martin, John Candy and John Hughes.

  • john candy will be missed forever!!!!

  • Best Comedy Ever!

  • 0:16 lol

I love the whole trip theme of this movie.

  • "director of sales, shower curtain ring division"...classic John Candy! Best actor ever!

  • best actor ever?

  • One of the best, yes:)
