Compassion can only be gained through understanding where you come from, by that I mean God. Knowing that we are all 1 being would make anyone compassionate naturally, then the instinct to protect oneself would be felt towards all. Unortunately religion has diversified and perverted the understanding of compassion and now it's almost non-existant. I'd rather the world be filled with people who are compassionate out of obligation and instinct than people who can choose to be compassionate or not.
