My friends don't know who I really am, and that's gothic enough. "I'm running from the darkness but it just claim me...", that kind of thing, you know?

Alot of people here are over-analyzing this. This is very "classic" goth style. I am a 40-plus ElderGoth and I know what I'm talking about, kiddies. Something like this is typical "everyday" for me. Club makeup would be more elaborate around the eyes or darker lips. But truly, there are no set rules. There are endless variations depending on the individual Goth. So RELAX, young 'uns - just because she doesn't have black tears running down her face doesn't mean it isn't Goth.

@miladyhelen I always tended to associate 'goth' with the dark clothes or darker makeup instead of the 'teary' look. I think it's maybe more down to your own interpretation instead of following a rule book, like you say.

There shouldn't be an 'age limit' or a 'rule book' that defines someone as being something because of what they wear or how they act. Attitudes are important too.

-I like the eyemakeup, how it's shaded ON THE LID with the depth between the shades...I hate the harsh shape of the contour because 1)it doesn't go with the models eye shape, and 2) it just looks BAD. I would follow all the eye makeup except that.

I believe this is supposed to be a stereotypical goth look, because I've seen goths and they have different twists. Think if you tried this look on, people would know right away you were goth, vs real goth colors.

Sadly, it takes most make-up artists to really let go and do some truly gorgeous gothic make-up. I think this is mostly due to learning all those "rules" and finding it too difficult to break them. I'm sorry, but this really isn't "Goth". It's just not dramatic enough. Try stepping outside the box a little, go a little crazy.
