  • Thank you for this tutorial. My husband just got me my pole for my birthday and you taught me my very first moves. I thought you did a very good job explaining the steps. I can't wait to try more!

  • Thanks so much for this video. I was really doubting that I was going to get anywhere with my pole, but then I watched this and felt so reassured that someone of your body shape could be so graceful and strong. I tried again and after watching this was able to learn all the beginner spins you demonstrate.

  • Great video, very helpful! Thankyou!

  • YOUR A GREAT TEACHER!!

  • Awesome vid, can't await to try these moves on my pole :)

  • Where can I get a pole from for the right size

  • you're awesome! just what I was looking for, thanks! :) xoxo from Argentina

  • Informative. Thank you.

  • Haha this was really helpful:) Thanks!!

  • great video.. what u call sun wheel.. we call sunkiss-- just in case thats the right name.. can u do a video on tips for climbing

  • your videos are awesome!! so helpful

  • Ty for the great explanatory video. I'm getting ready to venture into the world of stripping and this has already been such a huge help.

    Thanks again.

  • this is so helpful gigi thank you girl <3

  • I like your beginner lessons, there not mega easy silly things that everyone should teach themself like walking up to the pole and they arent over the top hard moves most people cant do at beginner level.

  • Thanks so much girl! I'm about to start dancing for the first time and I'm SO nervous that I'm going to make a mess of myself on stage the first few times!!

  • GiGi u r a good teacher girl...I almost got all of ur moves down... keep the moves coming..U make it eady to do

  • Gigi, great video but I am having one big problem...my hands sliding on the pole. I have even used MightyGrip. Any suggestions?

  • @matheis66 It might be the type of metal the pole is and it could be a combination of that and the pole getting oils on it from the air or the oils building up from your skin (on other parts of your body), or if your hair gets on it... the x pole gets slippery quick so I understand your woes.

  • @matheis66 My favorite solution is to spray Windex on a paper towel and wipe your pole down.. thats what we do with our brass poles in the studio. Or you could spray a bit of rubbing alcohol, or shaving cream directly on your hands. The shaving cream doesnt work for me but it works for some of the other girls

  • Thanx for the video, I take classes but you brought up some tips that my instructor never mentioned which def helped! I will subscribe! ;)

  • Hey!nice video!take a look at my page^^

  • YOU ARE THE BEST TEACHER ON HERE! YOU REALLY HELPED ME GET IT! If I practice 3x a wk how long do you think it will take me to pull up or climb the pole?

  • Xpole? x)

  • @TheGigiChannel Awesome <3 I love your channel!

  • @NataliexNapalm thanks! subscribe if you like :)

  • i think your videos are great the best yet,the only thing is im covered in bruises, ive only had a few goes and not the lightest of people any ideas to help my legs

  • This is an amazing video. Its Friday now and I start work Sunday and I have no experience at all. This really helped most of the videos are done by professionals therefore they don't understand or have forgotten what it felt like to be a beginner thanks!

  • Were did u get the pole? I want to buy one.. But dnt know which is good

  • i've noticed i would need alot of strength to do this, both my arms and legs are like sticks, i would love to learn but my arms are so weak!

  • This is really great! Thanks so much for this, i am also a beginner and you have helped so much by breaking to down. :)

  • Ok so please dont take this the wrong way but im bigger than the skinny strippers that can pull them selfs up, you close to the same size as me.. why can't i do anything??? I cannot hardly pull up or do any of these moves.. whats the secret????? please tell me!

  • @cleggaham86 practice

  • @cleggaham86 You need to build strength in order to pull yourself up... Try doing pull ups on a bar and also push ups.

  • @cleggaham86

Its all about upper strength and muscle. Do a lot of upper body workouts like hand stands, pull ups, and lifting :)

  • @cleggaham86

easy. you're not pulling yourself up while doing these spins. if youre trying to pull youre 1 not going to move or 2 if youre pulling you are prolly also jumping so youre going to just come straight down. youre just letting your body spin down the pole not pulling up. youre getting all your spin like she said at the beginning is from your momentum from kicking out that outside leg.

  • @cleggaham86 .. hey there I saw your comment and I am a big girl way bigger than Gigi and i can do some of those moves. strength plays a big part and also allowing your body to flow and fall into the moves. so practice and upper body strength training for biceps, triceps and your back will do the trick.

  • Thank you so much, I was getting tired of watching all those "expert"village people spinning around the pole without giving any instruction at all.

  • YOU ARE BY FAR THE BEST TEACHER ON YOUTUBE!! I HAVE WATCHED SO MANY AND YOU ARE THE BEST..THANKS SO MUCH!

  • I loved your video! I'm going to use them to teach me at home with my new pole! Thank you xoxox

  • Thank You for sharing this, i am a beginner myself and i find your video very helpful!

  • Hey girl, you did an awesome job, the most difficult job i breaking things down and you did an exceptional job. the pole leg and outer leg is genius. I have trouble with he spread eagle. LOL I am getting all the others too. I appreciate though. You did great. I liked it. i am adding to my list.

  • You are wonderful!

  • Simple right? ahh no !!! lol JK, I like the way u explain the moves. Ur my new dance teacher

  • You know what, ignore these idiots on here because you did dang good. Half the people talking have never even pole danced so for one they have no idea how much harder it can be than it looks and for two, how complicated it is to explain it especially while your doing it.. Keep doin your thang. =).

  • I HAVE TO AGREE WITH BEKKBEKK I WENT TO MY FIRST CLASS TONIGHT AND ITS DEINITELY HARDER THAN IT LOOKS BUT YOU BREAK IT DOWN SO IT MAKES SENSE POLE LEG OUTER LEG THE STRUT THEN THE MOVES MAKES MORE SENSE.

I LEARNT THE FIREMAN AND CHAIR TONIGHT AND BACKSLIDE AND SOME FINISHES AND THEN HOW TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER WOAAA

  • loved it :) great job

  • This is the Best instructional video I've see so far. You really explain things very clearly, and I appreciate that you emphasize the footing so much!

  • im so miserable because these girls at the club Im going to work at are soooo good! its coming on the weekend so im practicing, watching your vids trying to get it. my husband keeps laughing at me when i fall, and keeps saying mean shit cos he doesnt want me to do it. i wish you could posess me with your skill and when he walks in and roast his hatin ass!

  • i'm going to try these moves tonight! thank you so much for making such a great video. it's encouraging for girls like me just getting started :)

  • this is great i am doing things i couldnt before

  • Ur a great teacher ive been dancin for years and never could break down the moves like u !!!thanks

  • what are you using for grip

  • @SimplyMe713 Not using any aids besides alcohol to clean the pole.

  • thanks for sharing. you're a good teacher, breaking the moves down. thanks :)

  • I thought this video was the best one I seen on YouTube. I just started dancing yesterday and was looking at many videos on here and this one was the best one because you actually took the time out to explain the moves and demonstrate them. I loved it.. Plus you have so much personality and didn't care what people had to say. Amazing work. Thank You!

  • Your Awesome !

  • Great job girl thanks

  • Im not good at learning in videos, i think you need to come over and teach me

  • miss gigi keep doin your thing

  • Great tips for me!! I love the explanations, who cares about names?? He won't once you pull the moves out.

  • I wanna become a dancer, you made it so easy for me as if ive talked/watched you face to face!!! ten forsure. and your gorgeous, im curvy, and ive been trying to find a dress for that for a while...

  • i have been thru some other videos that say basic but theyre not , to me they are showing off their skills or something "not teaching. I find your very, very helpful....i love it....i can actually follow you.....thanks a lot

  • U are a great teacher! N the way you broke this down was really helpful as I am a beginner. Thanks so much ..will you be doing anymore pole vids?

  • Oh my gosh, I love the way you explain things!!!

  • I didnt dislike the whole video but I was discouraged by the fact that a "professional" or "teacher" did not know or remember the names of certain spins. I did appreciate the fact that Miss Gigi is not what you would expect to see in a club. She is a true woman and it's nice to know that anyone that pole dance. I did like how she explained the moves and then demonstrated but the quality of the video was terrible!!

  • @samcam2466 wow! That was a first. But i accept good and bad feedback. But it was my first instructional vid and i did it for fun ultimately. I honestly really only did it because people saw me upload pole vids of when I was taking classes and they kept asking me can I show how the moves are done. So yes, it's amateurish but I'm also not a advanced pole teacher. I was just still learning :) Thanks for the feedback though.

  • @samcam2466 Actually, bigger girls do work in clubs. At the club my friend works in, she gets told by the clients that she should put on weight (she's a size 8) and the other girls go from a size 10-18. :)

  • nice video! cant wait to put it to good use, plus thumbs up for M.I.A. playing in the background

  • nice video! you get a thumbs up for M.I.A. playing in the background

  • i love how you look like a real woman :D it is very encouraging that you don't havee to be a twig to achieve these moves x3

  • great video. it makes me a whole lot comfy that ur not one of those stick figure teachers that makes everything look so simple because they r so small.

  • You are a really good teacher. Thanks so much :)

  • Hey I love ur vids! Very helpful! Btw, where'd u find your pole? I need a new one, mine kinda sucks haha

  • when i get my pole im going to come back to your video!! this is very helpful and also your very classy! love it girl *.*

  • go girl!

  • NEW SUBBIE BUT U MAKE ME WANT TO BUY A POLE... LOL

  • is the pink pole a good pole to dance on?

  • You're so sweet! Lol.

  • She's great, I'd learned more from her then these broads that are just showing to act like they're so special. At least she's real.

  • Yes thank you so much! Your step by step video is great! I have my pole arriving shortly in the mail and im so grateful to watch your lessons your so patient! :) i took a beginner pole dancing class and they didnt even teach me the moves you do! Thanks babe :)

  • I just watched ur video for the first time it was great im going to continue to watch so i can get better but my question is wat kind of pole do u have i youir pole looks very stable i have the carmen electra one and im afraid of it on screwing. I would love to purchase the one like yours

  • @keylimepye x-pole

  • @keylimepye The Carmen Electra pole is The Peek - a - Boo pole repackaged. It WILL unscrew with spins or tricks. All they are good for are literally dancing AROUND it or rubbing on it. For spins, tricks and real pole exercise you will have to invest in a Lil Mynx or an Xpole. I got my Lil Mynx used off of Craigslist $175...screws into the ceiling with ONE small hole and solid as a rock...holds my boyfriend when he plays around on it hanging upside down and running and jumping on it.

  • Thank you so much for having your channel up! You are an excellent teacher, explaining things step-by-step. I've been watching your videos and it's been helping my dancing get a lot better! <3

  • Thanks so much for the clear step by step instructions!! U made it soo easy to pick up on!! I hope to see more vids from you! And u should mos def start your own class! You'll be great!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Yourr video is the best I have seen, with the step by step breakdown for people like me. And thnx 4 the post about the drying powder, I wondered how to "cure" the slip.

  • I want to pick up pole dancing, but I don't know where to get a pole ( I live in Greece... >>) However, this vid was very helpful! If I ever manage to get one, I will come back to your channel for more.:)

  • Oh thank you so much! I'm looking to spice up my workout routine, and I was thinking about taking up pole dancing.

  • very helpful thanks. what kind of pole is yours?

  • very helpful thanks

  • thanks for doing this video it is the best and easiest to learn from i was starting and stopping the video and my g/f was at the pole learning and the way you taught them she picked them right up thanks alot from me and her!!

  • I really love this vid. I have had my pole up just under 2 weeks and have managed to do most of the spins and increase my strength. I'll be getting some of the powder for my hands. Big thanks. Subscribed.

  • thanks for the video! you're a very good teacher and explain the moves really well! "put your outer leg behind u as if u were a dog taking a piss" mad me laugh a lot but was actually a very good description! XD

  • You make me want a pole! Thank you for sharing :D

  • ur a good teacher i learned how alot !!!

  • Was my second pole dancing lesson today! I love it so much, I learnt how to do the Fireman with a twist? I think you called it, My Teacher calls it the arrow move I think aha. I am so happy with myself that I done it yay! :D Fab video! x

  • Fab video thanks, i have been having trouble with some spins because of my coordination but your vid has really helped. Now if only i could get a pole!hahaha.x

  • I have had my pole ages now and my hands just slip can you reccomend anything? loved your vid by the way =)

  • @EDDIEBUMPKIN2007 try some of the drying powder you can get for your hands

  • @EDDIEBUMPKIN2007 clean the pole really well, its the grease off ur hands makin u slip

  • @EDDIEBUMPKIN2007 try chalk :)

  • @EDDIEBUMPKIN2007 dryhands.com GREAT STUFF!!!!

  • do you need to have alot of upper body strenght to do this??

  • @reddtop you need a little. But practicing builds that strength.

  • I really like how you break down the moves slowly. Even when you say "pole leg, outer leg, pole leg" it really does help to understand how to do the move yourself. Most "instructional videos" say "do it like this" and then simply spin around the pole and that's the end of it. Thank you for your time and explanation! :D

  • Awesome tut! thanks so much!!!

  • now i want a pole!!! OMG you make it so easy!!!

  • hay i'm irmastene i'm on my cuzNs youtube page but if you have a facebook look me up please i been thinking about starting danceN and i finded your teaching really help full cuz you really brake it down and don't rush ..

  • i have d oposite problem, my pole is too grippy or maybe is my hands, they get stuck to the pole to where i cant spin at all, my body goes but my hands dont...lol oh n i have used d mighty grip wich ofcourse makes it worse. help please

  • @hotesthela What kind of pole do you have?

  • @hotesthela - Loosen your hand grip :D If you were to hold it extremely tight when you were stood still and tried to twist your hands around the pole you'll notice it can't be done, loosening your grip will enable you to twist them, you don't want to fall off though so feed the pole through your hands as you spin by loosening your grip :D

  • i love it you tought me boo

  • omg you make it look so easy. very informative. love the vid

  • How do you stop yourself from dropping to the ground? Lol I slide down so fast and I'm gripping hard, not slipping or anything...

  • @DreaTheHealthFreak I am not sure about that one... you have to just let your grip go a little but not so much that you are falling. Like let your fingers up a little and not the palms.

  • Amazing. I just got my x pole in the mail and installed it, then realized how much harder it is to actually DO the moves than it looks. I have been spending the last couple hours trying different tutorial vids and nothing. Then I found this one and there we go! Thanks!

  • You are so cute! I love you and this honestly has been VERY helpful :)

  • @doryslovespeace thanks!

  • well done thanks!

  • any tips on how to get over the pain of the pole against your skin?

  • thank you so much for the little lesson..... I'm going for an audition @ a strip club soon and needed to see how some simple pole tricks are done thanks! Your a great teacher!!!!

  • Great tutorial! You're a great teacher, thank you so much for posting this.

  • my pole is so damn slippery, i have an x pole too but i cant GRAB IT! its very frustrating wiping it every two seconds!

  • @itsbina I know... mines is the same way. I gotta wipe it constantly. I want a brass pole because it grips better.

  • @itsbina yh i hav the same problem wiv my x pole. my hands contantly sweat n cant grip he pole :(

  • @itsbina try a gripping aid product such as "Dry hands" or "mighty grip". It works awsome!

  • u really break this down well and It really helps thank u and u shud post more videos esp on climbing techniques! thanx :)

  • thank you so much for this tutorial

  • u make it look easy..

  • cute

  • this video helped so much.. its so easy to learn since you say how to do it and show it.. thanks so much

  • I'm quite sure this is asked all the time, so I am sorry, but where did you get your pole? I want to get one so bad! Great vid!

  • @TieeeGrace X-Pole

  • I've watched 10's of videos on youtube and I found myself wondering about the specifics of plenty of moves which caused me to be unable to do them...YOU ROCK because thanks to you I have been able to do every spin that you've shown!

  • The cheer move looks a bit scary. lmaooo.

I gotta work on my upper arm strength before I try that. xD

I like how intructional this video was. thanks!

  • Dog takin a piss lol but u broke it down good!!

  • You're really good and easy to follow.

  • ur great , thx

  • Sorry I keep on commenting, but every time I watch this video, I learn a new spin! and i REALLY want to thank you!

  • @JulieKimD You are very welcome!

  • OH and is there anything I can do to help me keep my lower arm straight? :/ It always wants to bend but then if it does I cant get my body further away from the pole!

    Thanks agin!!

  • @JulieKimD Practice so your arms gain strength.

  • Your a really great teacher! BUT i would love if you show just a tiny bit more hand placements! and I cant figure out why I cant get my feet of the ground!

  • @JulieKimD Hold the pole as far as possible to keep your feet off the ground and also make sure you get momentum in your turn.

  • @JulieKimD I have only just started leaving the floor! Maybe you need to work on your upperbody strength like I had to?

  • hon you are good.. ....and i can see where a girl could learn a lot from your vid...you have a lot of detail ...which should be very helpful...good vid.

  • This is fabulous. I have an X pole and I took lessons for a year. This video is SOOO good. I learned faster with this video than I did it 2 months of lessons.

  • @TaralynsMa That's awesome! Glad I could be of help :)

  • very cute girl

    awsome work

you make it look so easy.... maybe i should try it:)

  • very cute girl

    awsome work

  • Can you give me some advice? when I do the spins, I cant do a full spin because my knees or feet hit the ground to fast. My hands slides down the pole to fast? Do I just need to keep practicing or do you have a trick? Thanks and I love how you always say pole leg, outer leg….

  • @MsBlocker1 Yes, try to spray your pole with alcohol and wipe it down so that its not slippery, try also using the drying powder on your hands if your hands are still too slippery, or if you don't have that, use some alcohol and spray it on your hands and let it air dry. Also, make sure you have momentum when doing your spins because if you're not taking big enough steps you will slide down faster.

  • I LOVE IT!! LOOL, I LOVE YOU!!! (^_^) <3

  • how to build the upper body strength to do this... because i tried and it wasn't so easy for me lol but i know its cause i can't hold myself up ... so how did u build the strength to do it? btw great video u explain things and make it very easy to follow

  • @chikagurl77712 Practicing builds arm strength pretty much.

  • Great tutorial! I loved the consistency with your verbal queues. For me, it made very easy to follow!

Also, the M.I.A. in the background. Love it!

  • U go girl! Loved this tutorial. I'm inspired, where did u get the pole from? Was it cheap?

  • @tightnzz Its an X-Pole. You can google it to find it :)

  • I have a Lil'Mynx pole, which is the pole I recommend. Remember to keep in mind that different poles have different diameters. Lil'Mynx has a website, google it. You can purchase a "rotator" pole that spins with your own momentum. The Lil'Mynx is also easy to set-up and remove when guests come over. The ceiling fixture looks like a plant hook, which it literally is.

  • I like your teaching method. You speak very encouraginly which really make me feel like I can do it! I'm an absolute beginner, and even though I have the house to myself right now I'm still nervous, so hopefully this helps me a bit. Thank you for sharing!

  • Love it... Thanks for going step by step...

  • Lol, I know Joe's/Fiyastarta's pole spin names anywhere! Lol. Pole dance 411 Atlanta (or now Vertical Joe's) baby! Lol

  • @Composure45 Yep!!! :)

  • You keep saying "pretty simple, huh?" NO! none of those press aways are simple! HAHA. I'll get it eventually...The other moves are pretty simple but I like how you break them down in a teachable fashion.

  • THE BEST CLASS LOL..LOVE IT HONEY...THANX!

  • wow you have amazing upper body strength!

i just bought a static pole, is it the upper body strength that mostly holds you on the pole, or am i sliding down too quickly because the pole is slippery?

  • @kaysee228 your pole may be slippery or you may be slippery. Don't wear lotions or oils before getting on the pole.

  • wow wen i get my pole i bet ur relly gonna help me and ill be sure to comment back this is really good lessons thanks ms gigi

  • was your pole in static that whole time?

  • thx for showing us how to pole dance i want to learn so bad after ur vid! XD

  • Gigi you are def. one of the best teachers on here. So many can do, but can't break it down in to simple enough steps for those of us at home alone with a pole. :)

Please please post more lessons! Thanks again.
