how this family not love this beautiful loving dog. i would love to have this dog. i mean look at his face at 0:08 its so adorable how can anyone not love him its just so sad how animals are treated. my pets aren't pets there family
Normally, not even the Sarah Mclachlan commercials get me (they just feel too manufactured). These Pedigree commercials make me tear up every time. This is the worst one because it doesn't appear to have an "I got adopted!" match like most of the others do :(. I could never leave my German Shepherd behind!
can you imagine the confusion dogs like king must feel when they get dumped when all they did was love someone? then when they finally realize no one is coming back for them...it just breaks my heart
Man, Pedigree really knows how to rip your heart right out of your chest..."Imagine your family moves.....and they don't take you." Instant tears... :'(
@fuzzy7277 - This is what I wanna know too...every other dog has a "________gets adopted" video...where's King's??? Someone told me he got adopted, but I don't know if it's true or not.
This one hits me the harest. We moved to a new larger home with a large backyard and at firt my mom told me I was going to have to give up my dogs Cassie and Bailey. I fought for months until we came to an agreement: 1 dog only, at first everyone chose Bailey...Right now I'm living in the new place and on my bed with me are my best friends Bailey and Cassie :) I wouldn't give you guys up for anything in this world. <3
I don't see how people could have such nasty comments towards others. The reality is people transition during their life, i'm sure the family did feel like shit for giving the dog to a shelter but you don't know their story. Sometimes I wish people would have the same or more compassion and love towards homeless and sheltered children than animals.
That's the most terrible thing they ever did and the dog didn't do anything wrong. Humans have always been unfair to dogs but the dogs never even held their grudge against them.
aww i had to get rid of my dog cuz we moved =[ exept i let her go in the streets cuz the crappy shelters in san bernardino didnt wanna take her back. :(
That's what happened to my cat Teddy. His owner moved to Michigan and didn't take him with. Luckily he found a way out of the house or else we wouldn't of found him and he would be dead. We wrote a letter to the owner. He said he took him to a pound. Then sir, how'd he end up at your house?!
I hope this beautiful dog got adopted. I have 2 German Shepherds and they are great dogs that love families. I know some of the comments are harsh on the people that left him but at least they dropped him off at a shelter and not in the garden state parkway like someone did to the dog I adopted.
I'm not saying people shouldn't do the best they can, but sometimes people just can't take pets when they move, for whatever reason. It might be an immigration thing or their new living conditions aren't suitable for pets, and King is actually better off in a shelter. Regardless, I remind some of the harsher commenters that they don't actually know the whole situation.
You're an idiot if you think a dog is "better off" in a shelter. Have you ever worked or volunteered in a shelter, genius??? No, I'm guessing you haven't. Those dogs are locked up in their cages for about 22 hours a day. How would you like living in a 4X8 foot cage for 22 hours a day?
Try educating yourself before you say something stupid like that.
@schnad Actually, I'm a foster parent for a shelter and spend quite a lot of time there :3 The only reason I don't volunteer there is because I'm under 18 and that's too young. So yeah, actually, I do know what I'm talking about, and perhaps you shouldn't assume you know everything before commenting, neh?
@schnad I would rather a dog be in a shelter where they have a chance for a new life and get 4 or 5 walks a day and human interaction than being on the street and risk getting hit by a car. Maybe if King moves with his family he would have to be crated all day every day or locked in a back yard kennel even through the cold winter months. WE DON'T KNOW the new living conditions.
@elliebell2oo - Hey Ellie, actually, most of what you said isn't true. When I was volunteering at a shelter, ee had to work each dog for half an hour, then we had other things to do like arranging new bedding that was donated, feeding, plus tending to the other animals. There is not enough time for 4 or 5 walks, only 2 if they are lucky (and if there are enough volunteers). The dogs are often not adopted because people want cute puppies, and some are put down. A shelter is a sad, sad place.
@FreedomForOrcas I've adopted 2 dogs, both were yearlings. There's nothing wrong with an older dog. You can see exactly how big they will be and what their temperament is, they're most likely housebroken, less likely to chew, a little more settled and knowledgeable about people's schedules and my even know a few commands. Personally, I'd go for the young/adult dog when I adopt again for those reasons, but then again, I did my homework which other people should do when considering a dog.
@Darthbelal - I know there's nothing wrong with an older dog. There was an old German Shepherd at the shelter, and I so badly wanted to adopt him - great temperament, easy to handle when walked, he was wonderful. My parents are completely against adopting an older dog because of "vet bills". Granted, they can get expensive, but I make a promise to older dogs... when i leave home and get a good job, i will adopt an old dog, no matter how expensive he or she may become.
@FreedomForOrcas I can only speak for the shelter I know, and they have 4 scheduled walks every day, so I don't really get how you can say it's untrue. It's untrue in some cases, sure, but I'm trying to make a point. I know a shelter isn't an ideal place for a dog, but the point of the comment is we don't know the alternative. I'd rather inside a shelter with 2 walks a day than ignored in a kennel at the owner's new home with no walks, EVER, and no chance of a different life.
omg i hadnt realised there were more of these ads, i;ve only seen the one of Echo.. :'( they are all such sad ads... everyone was telling me i had to get rid of my 3 cats when we moved houses recently coz no one would accept someone with pets and we we're running out of time, but i refused to get rid of them. and with like a week before we had to leave we got a place and i got to keep my cats <3 nothing and no one would ever EVER make me leave my pets behind
It is so easy for you to judge people, isn't it??? It is not always possible to keep a dog and sometimes the kindest and best thing for the dog is to give them up to someone who can give them a good life!!!
imagine not having any one there for you. imagine not being able to have a nice warm home with a family. animals are like people. i don't think they should be treated any different than us. some people really need to stop hurting animals. their dieing everyday. suffering. we need change.
Such a true representation of what is happening to a lot of animals. All these ads are effective, since Pedigree puts them in the pet's perspective. It really makes an impact. Well done, Pedigree, keep them coming.
Whew- I suspected as much but couldn't find the King adoption ad. I know it's silly to be worried about the Pedigree Ad dog, when you think of the millions of dogs in shelters out there, but it was really depressing because I knew his story.
