very true. but if you truely watch him hes not really a stand up goalie at all. he butterflies a lot and just does whatever it takes to make the save. the age of the stand up butterfly has technically been over for a while.
he has very few butterfly aspects about him he does drop down to the ice but he does using a more classic dropping technique and he doesnt use a lot of on ice lateral movement other than crawling XD
He plays a "hybrid" style and relies more on reflexes than positioning. He does butterfly fairly often and also uses the paddle-down. His style is definitely not stand-up, but it doesn't really fit into any category. The best way to describe it is freelance, doing whatever is necessary to stop the puck whether it adheres to a certain formula or not.
@Gooster43 he is also just so dramatic...floppy and as you say, will do anything to stop the puck. Goalies are sooo good these days, but they aren't as enjoyable to watch as Bordeur...and even Hasek and Cujo

I think Lundqvist is underrated. He's damn solid in net, especially against the Devils. He was a terror all last season for us. The Rangers are terrible offensively this year, and he is stealing games for those fucks. I think he'll be able to surpass some of Marty's milestones as he is on the same pace for wins as Marty was at 22.
Thomas is a big surprise, love him as a goalie. Though like Cujo was/is, he's too unorthodox, and I don't see him maintaining that same athleticism for much longer.

First, Brodeur is not the best all-time. Second, I would take Nabokov, Luongo or Miller before any of the top 3 on your list. Playing on a great team does not make you a great goaltender. Lundqvist isn't top 5 material as of right now either. Brodeur is the man . No one can match what hes done or the way he steps up and makes the big saves when theyre needed most !! All the haters say he had great teams...so what....so did every great goalie ( Roy , Hasek , Smith , Fuhr , etc ).....so suck it !! Marty is the man !!

Simply the greatest goalie of the last 20 years if not ever. Roy can suck it. As the Devils fans have always cheered Mar-Ty's Bet-Ter!! His style is so undescribable and so effective and brilliant. 7 forty win season's, no one else has 4. Gonna catch Roy's wins mark by 38! He's the greatest.
