  • Best back ever to play at Tennessee ! What if he didnt blow out his knee ?

  • @sodear2meee I still give that title to Reggie Cobb, but had Chuck stayed healthy, who knows? That year Cobb would have been a senior and Webb a sophomore, with Tony Thompson as a backup. There's no telling what could have happened.

  • @shinzu4001 Oh this Chuck Webb here is one of the most talented Running Back ever seen on film, him before the knee injury ! I study Running Backs as a hobby... Chuck was a rare rare talent.

  • @sodear2meee I'm not going to disagree too strongly,,, I loved Webb. There was something about Cobb's running style that made me like to watch him more. One thing is for sure... we don't have anywhere near that caliber of back on the Hill at present. Not by a long shot.

  • @shinzu4001 I think Cobb was better, as well.

  • @volswaff Cobb's SEC freshman touchdown record was still standing last year. Marcus Lattimore for SC may have tied or broken it, but her we are almost 25 years later and it was still holding. His run in '89 versus Auburn is still one of my all-time favorite plays in UT football. It was also the coming out party for just how good the Cobb Webb was going to be. I'll always wonder what happens against Alabama if he was was still on the team and we don't help them discover Siran Stacy. :P

  • sirscorps...your a idiot he blew out his knee vs pacific....To say he couldnt play w pain is a dumbass statement.

  • Best I ever saw in Orange.

  • Too bad this guy couldn't play w/a little pain. GB drafted him in 1991 in about the 3rd round & he had kind of a minor knee injury & he couldn't even tough it out & practice. He ended up sulking his way out of football. What a shame.

  • Wonder when the dorks who make these videos will finally realize that the game broadcast sounds are actually better than their favorite song.

The Chuck Webb highlights are awesome, brought back some memories of that Cotton Bowl. But the music does not work at all. It's just an annoyance distracting from the real reason people click on this.

  • Lmao, i turned off iTunes before i started the video... Just happened to turn off an incubus song for this. WIN! GO vols!

  • I remember feeling bad for both teams on defense this day. Neither one could stop the others offense. With Tennessee having the Cobb-Webb attack, Arkansas had Barry Foster, who went on to be a force in the NFL with the steelers. It was a fun game to watch. These two always seem to play great games. It was kind of weird they had only played three times, until Arkansas moved to the sec.

  • If you think chuck is good. His nephew jody, is doing great in high school. I too got to c play with him in high school. I think it's sweet to c my son getting to play with another webb.

  • man i still remember the COBB WEBB attack until the cobb got busted for the bugger sugar.

  • Watched him play as a Mac man...we had the same coach. He was great

  • I can't beleieve how often people foget Tony Thompson put him on that list!

  • Was chuck webb the best to ever put on the orange and white? Im only 27, but i wonder how well he would rack up against todays top backs.

  • @rcfreak7777 1. Jay Graham 2. Chuck Webb 3. Johnnie Jones 4. Travis Henry 5. Jamaal Lewis

  • @Saklokus865 , I was thinking Chuck Webb, Travis Henry, and jamaal Lewis, but i never watched Chuck Webb in person because i was too young. I think Travis Henry was under used in college, and Jamaal Lewis was afraid to hirt his knee again.

  • 1. Chuck Webb... 2. Jamal Lewis... 3. Charlie Garner... 4. John Majors....

  • I work with him here in toledo, he's good! He WOULD have been the greatest though

  • to bad injury ended his pro career, he might be 1 of the greatest in nfl

  • I was actaully at the Pacific game when he was injured....as an 11 year old I was crushed. Anyone know what he's up to these days?

  • @AUPilot3 yeah he in toledo ohio now that my nigga dad

  • @AUPilot3 Pacific dropped football, these days the star running back leaves those body bag (revenue sharing) games a lot quicker bacause of that game

  • Chuck Webb is winning pee wee championships, coaching in Ohio. His name is hallowed in Big Orange lore.

  • What could have been... C.Webb would have been the greatest in UT history.

After the Pacific game we never found out.

God bless you where ever you are Mr. Webb

  • I was wanting Bryce Brown to wear the 44 jersey.

Would that not give you chills?

  • @rcfreak7777 no

  • @Saklokus865 , well now it would be very bad. I was wanting that cat to be sooo good. BUT, i suppose he will be a loser for leaving. I'm glad they didn't grant him a release.

  • Hogs had no idea what hit them when Webb ran all over them

  • He was awesome I wished we could have had a couple more years of WEBB.GO VOLS!
