something reall sad happened with me!!!....i bot a lexar 8gb pro duo for about 100singaporean dollars....it was all sealed and stuff...(looks orignal...)..(my dad got it from a mall somewhere in singapore).....but wen i formatted the mem stick...its capacity is only 3.58gb!!!....does any1 know wot the problem is...cud it b sumthn else dan fake???

I was looking at videos about memory sticks, and it looks like there is a way to format the stick to make it say it's double what it is, but's not. I think you have a 4GB stick that was made to believe it was double.

i bought a 4GB memory stick on ebay for 35 bucks ^^ when i got it it doesnt work at all. What i did is i reformatted the stick through computer then it works. Well its actually working fine because everytime i put music or video on my psp its all corrupted except for my save game data.

me too. the problem of my psp memory card was it doesn't allow me to format it. Whenever I inserted it to my psp, it says "memory card not inserted"..wtf???

However, it works on my brother's psp and I was able to format it.. I know that my psp has no problem reading the memory card. It is just that the memory card was fake..

Just put it into your PSP, tab to it and press the triange. This will bring up the memory cards information, press X to enter. If it says Magic Gate supported its an original, if it says "unknown" its fake............ takes 10 seconds to find out not an 8 minute video.

some people don't know jack about memo cards. "fake," or "cheap" memo card will work the same as a real sony, sandisk, etc. The reason that's true is, because its only holding and storing your data. These cards will last the same as a real sandisk, etc if you take proper care and don't misuse and treat it, then it'll last long.

I have 4 of the fakes ones and they still work like the original sony ones. You get what you buy for. The cheaper it is the lower quality it is but it still does the same job. The guy in the video even said that the fakes ones are so bad, the only cons he can think about is that the product has a lower quality material.

Sooo... basically, the only way to tell the difference is to CUT them apart and then glue them back together. And by doing this, we determine that one is official and the other isn't. Quite frankly, you told us the materials were of higher quality in the Sony brand, but you never stated any difference in the actual preformance of either of them.
