And Dame Enda Average should stay in his bedroom bedecked in pink chiffon playing air guitar to Abba and be out adding humiliation to our destitution.
so we did go a bit mad during the boom years BUT we were encouraged to do so by the banks and therefore by assoc, the government. During those years I was able to re-mortgage twice even though I don't work and only have a disability benefit as income source. My son went to bank for 2,000e loan but came out with 10,000e. We're both in deep s**t now thanks to same old same old Irish govt.
@TheRealMcDook As someone with debt I feel your pain, I'm unemployed but still manage to hold me debts in check and save money and live. The banks started it and we ran wild, we saw our neighbours and families getting extensions, houses, cars and holidays and decided we want that too. We borrowed, we lived and now it's time to pay.
@stephenturner2412 Just barely scraping by each mnth and still alive - good luck to you if you can also manage to save! Always paid my way but govt's austerity measures making it harder by the day and then to be told by Enda Kenny it's my own fault!!! WTF does he know?
@TheRealMcDook It's not much but I get by, as for Enda, all he knows is that if he can#t get the country working Europe will squash him like a bug and he is scared shitless!!
@stephenturner2412 Ah, Steve, don't fall for that rubbish. Pay your own debts, not someone else's. At the time of the crash 99.9% of people were still paying their mortgages. How could that have caused a crisis? It was the developers who owed the massive sums, having build thousands of ghost estates they could not sell, and THEY didn't pay their debts, so now we are. And everyone silly enough to say we have to pay for that, is music to Enda & Fingleton's ears.
@jimbobeire I never said I'd pay other peoples debt, I agree that for most of us we behaved, probably borrowed a little but not beyond our means, or too far beyond them.
I'm lucky because I live at home and have a few skills that people want, just a case of landing the job.

Think this needs a little link carpet bombing cos the nation should at least have the comfort of the laughter it generates. Bombs away.
