man this stuff is so 'cool' again nowadays. The italo style, early breakbeats, acid house. it's coming back hard as it should be! Early 80ies begin 90ies were innovating times but you will not hear it. This should be the era of the generic Stock, Aitken and Waterman bands. But it's time housemusic will earn their respect for what they did for music in general! Peace.
I loved mixing over this song....back in the day. I cut early 80's new wave with late 80's *hair metal*...and would sandwich Katrina and the Waves *Walking on Sunshine* right smack in the middle....just to freak everyone out. LOL
@dodgyhingst I agree, but why "back in the day"? I am a dj, and if assholes on radio stations can still play Stairway to Heaven and call it "classic" then fuck the world, I call THIS classic and I play it with the same reverence.
@samfrompasingtime I say *back in the day*....because it has been over 15 years since I DJed at a place which was worthy of such art. Drop me in a REAL club tomorrow nite and I would spin the shit out of BREAK....twice.
@dodgyhingst OH YES> I wish you lived near me. We have the worst scene of any mid sized city ever. We are the ONLY electro band here. Nice to hear from you in this matter for sure.
There is another version of this song that cuts up Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Olivia Newton John "Physical" among other songs like this set of songs aforementioned. Industrial Dancebeat on Metropolis(PHILLY)
@ectowle Metropolis 00.07, BTW, thanks for the info. For years I've been trying to figure out which remix service did that fantastic version. Hate to beg but anyone that has that please upload it.
@cyntonic Yeah, Metropolis remix service was the one that did a cool version of this (basically, they inserted a bunch of odd things in there to emulate what the DJ's in Dallas were doing with it at the time). If I remember right, they used Controversy, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Physical, an AC/DC song, and something else....
explor9806 uploaded the Metropolis version!!
