I agree my mothers father is Ethiopian and Jamaican people look nothing like them even in early historical pictures. Nothing like them at all. I have been there before and could see not one common aspect look wise. Ethiopia was never part of the slave trade they were a protected group. Protected by the Arab countries at the time. My father is Egyptian and my mothers other side is palestinian Jew. Please travel if you want the truth dont make it up.

Hey loneliest1, I don't think she is ugly at all. I know that everyone has their own taste in beauty, but she is by no means ugly. Her beauty is not only external but also her inward beauty comes out. Sometimes a very pretty person can become ugly by the actions. I don't know her, but I can tell from her response to the guy and her tone of voice that she has at least some respectfulness in her character. Being mean is not attractive at all.

Oh yeah, and think about it. Most people in a reggae club are vibing and bouncing to the music and during various Carribean dance moves including dancing to Calypso. True bellydance is meant to be watched and admired, not have the entire club during it. So, don't feel insulted if you are a student of bellydance or you are of Middle Eastern descent. The video does say "Egyptian Dance" but also "how fi dance reggae learn".

She did a great job. This is obvious a modification of true bellydancing since she is dancing to Reggae/Dancehall. It has nothing to do with misrepresenting another culture, because the title is "How Fi Dance Reggae". This is no different than the many cultures around the world that has taken American Hip Hop which was created by Black Americans in the late 1970s and made their own form of it. And yes, Egypt was originally Black African, but was conquered by an Arab nation many millenia ago.

Despite some of the retoric here I have to say that this is not Egyptian style. It is Jamaican style or perhaps hip hop version of Belly Dance.She moves very well and keeps it flowing which is a part of Belly Dance. However, I am Egyptian and this is not it and its not even close. So people should be careful posting things as being "Egyptian" in order not to offend people and WOMEN who DO come from this culture as it is obvious that she is not Egyptian.

Egypt is in Africa and the original Egyptians are Africans. They were later militarily conquered by the Arabs hence the Arabs there now but that does not diminish the African origin and heritage of Egypt. So do your homework buddy. The dance is Egyptian in many ways. The Black Egyptians i.e. Nubians in present day Sudan still dance like this.

You guys are just saying these things because of the color of this girl's skin. I know for a fact you have to have a butt & hips to do belly dancing. So these racial attacks make no sense. I was trained in belly dancing. Allot of people who are white and have no hips are doing it and coming from North Europe.
