I love him but sadly his wife wears the trousers. despite this I still have all his albums and I sing for him I am the only female numan singer in the uk.
what a shitty crowd. there's a pure genious on the stage singing his perhaps greatest song and they're just starring at him like cows. well, if Gary ever comes to russia i suppose the crowd will be even worse. oh well, i still dream to see him performing in my country. but who needs Gary Numan, when they have timbaland, duh? sad things. natural, though. we're living in a tasteless century.
actually, they weren't at all like cows, everyone was pretty electrified (you can tell from the cheering). However on certain songs, like this one, I'd say Gary had the crowd totally captivated/mesmerized. And one of my cameratechs, DayVid Night, was even moved to tears on this one - so I dedicated this video to him.
his lyrics for this song seem to paint a grim picture of the future, but if you look at certain aspects of culture, you can see how his lyrics apply to the here and now. this song always brings me to tears because it reminds me how savage and inhuman the world can be... i love the video! best version on the Web hands down! thanks for making it and posting it!
Marilyn Manson Butchered this masterpiece by Gary Numan.

Only a certain few can make a great song better..... Gary Numan is one of them, perhaps the best of them.....

@siitrom Huh? How can the originator make it better?

The original Reznor. No Numan, no NIN--he'd be the first to admit it.

I heard that is inspired by Philip K. Dick books, espiecially "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep"

which spawned the movie "Bladerunner" starring Harrison Ford
"Bladerunner" film also claimed as inspiration to various industrial musicians.
