This guy is funny. It's about time someone puts a real human face and some comic relief on life in space. Most of the other astronauts making videos in space are churn out bland explanations of some scientific observation. But with this guy, I can relate to him - get me some coffee in the morning, check my morning email, chow down some breakfast, do some work, and laugh it up with my buddies. Nice video series!
Alot of them tend to have a masters or a PhD in either Science or Engineering. Depends on the mission as to what qualifications they possess. If you look on Nasa's website, you can view their Bio's.
@globs89 Anyone can apply to the space program but almost all of those who are chosen have degrees in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering... or something of that sort, and have some good experience. The one(s) who actually pilots the shuttle and modules needs to be an experienced pilot, though.
@globs89 no. some are civilains that have advanced degress in Math, Science and Enginering. Take Sandra Magnus(STS-135, Expedition 18) she has just a bachlors degree in college.
do you get dizzy?

there are 2 things that i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to do in my life
1. flying in zero gravity
2. breathing helium gas to change my voice
TheGhostHunter500 11 months ago
@TheGhostHunter500 At least one of those is really accesible and easy to do. Try breathing in sodium hexaflouride, it does the opposite.

amuda1 3 years ago
The minimum that you need to enter the selection program is a bachelors. After that you'll need 3 years experience in your field, OR a pHD
