  • What do they eat tahat makes them RATS?? Theyre not like eating Buzzards! Which I wouldnt eat.. lol Pigeons are like what we have here in the South USA .. Doves.. And they are Fantastic.

  • @NationalCoordinator as said earlier they eat rubbish and dirt of all kinds live in dirty toxic citys and walk around in dirty areas... country birds wouldnt be exposed to that

  • I'm only 13 and I was able to pluck skin and 5 pigeons very easily and they were al tasty

  • are city pigeons bad to eat?

  • @thebowlzack

Im not 100% but from what i know they can be very dangerous. the city variety are known to have lots of diseaes so I wouldnt be to keen on them...i suppose its why there known as rats with wings

  • @dunndunn1 thanks for your feedback. i assumed that since city pigeons sit above roads all day and inhale exhaust and chemicals. i also know they have plenty more diseases, and eat garbage from human disposal...nothing they would eat in the forest. thanks again for getting back ;)

  • very nice bud, my mouth was watering.. :)

  • Try grilling it with roasted garlic soy sauce on a skewer with all sorts of peppers, and onions... zuchinni and squash aren't half bad either.

  • I'm coming over for supper!

  • little pigeon legs!

  • That looks so easy to cook and very tasty. I think I'm going to have to give it a try. Please can you post some more pigeon recipes.

    Thanks.

  • prefer this one to be honest: hungrystudent.info/pigeonwithleek.html

  • your vids are awesome! Thanks for doing this and keep them coming!

  • um sorry i speak english

  • They are dirty . Both in woods or city. I'm a falconer I knew better than anybody. We don't consume pidgeons because we know better.

  • @maxinpains Well thats up to you. But wood pigeon is a great tasting meat and COMPLETELY different to the filthy feral pigeons we see wandering around our cities and towns. This explains the HUGE popularity of Wood pigeon on the continent.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer LOL Every fowls are taste pretty same.

  • American morons..."oh my gawd, use guys eat pigeons...gross!" poor impression I know... :op

  • absolutely disgusting.

eww... this is a true british cuisine? sickens me.

  • @maxinpains The rest of the world eats pigeons...lol!!! We don't!!! but we could feed them to those hungry animals at the zoo, don't you think....we have too many around US cities!!! lol!!!

  • @gospelnews123 Nah. As far as i know British goes to crazed with pigeons more than anyother contry as far as I know.

  • @maxinpains Theres a bit of a difference from eating the flea bitten feral pigeons that fly around cities etc and wood pigeons. Are you seriously that ill educated you dont know the difference? I know the education standards are bad over there but, come on, seriously. Wood pigeon is a centuries old favourite around the world.

To be honest i'd be more worried about eating fat laden burgers of the ilk you find on most US corner vendors and such junk as Taco Bell and Burger King, fat in a wrapper.

  • Mmmmmmmmm

    rock dove

  • - 100 degrees ?? - Is that centigrade or fahrenheit ???

  • centidrade

  • @headphones222 centigrade = Celsius?

  • indeed.

  • Is that pigeon being pan fried in a non stick pan? The garlic at the bottom of the spinich pot sounds like it's burning to shit mmmm brittish squab

  • nothin quite like some pidgeon tits and ranch dressing to satisfy the hearty appettite

  • Great vid Mark. I'm going to try this some day, I promise :-)

  • Very nice but allot of meat for one dish

  • And what reason do you have to say that faggot? He's a professional game chef and he's an excellent hunter. And you are???? jealous? piss off man. Or better yet you don't understand hunting and automatically think he's sick. Your a dip.

  • @THEABC123DUMBIE

Lighten up man, he is an excellent hunter and chef.

I hunt myself and mark is the one who taught me how to prepare game.

So before you get on your youtube high horse, it was an inside joke that only mark n I will understand. Idiot.

Anyway, cheers once again mark, sorry about that wanker aha :) x

  • @passiveaddiction you don't have to be a dick about it man .... god hah I had no idea.. wait you commented on my thing I said a year ago? haha thumb up .. by the way I'm asuming i was just sick of hearing anti-hunting comments. I also based cleaning my first rabbit off marks video. wanker :p good video mark

  • @THEABC123DUMBIE

Haha, yeah man, didnt mean to be a dick sorry, i turn into a dick on youtube! But yeah respect to that buddy, his videos are great for stuff like this, ive always been able to hunt but have never come across videos that go into enough detail about the preperation side until mark posted his. And the anti-hunting comments piss me off too, its how have survived and now we do it today on a large scale, inhumane way and most of it is wasted. Take care buddy! x

  • you are

  • oh, just one other thing... HOW are you supposed to eat the lags and the wings? I tried using the knife and fork, picking them up, I just couldn't get the meat off the sinews... :( just don't like seeing good food going to waste!)

  • Is he a full-time chef?

  • yes

  • yeah, i used to fry them for far too long before i realised a few mins each side was just right! used to be so tough ha ha

  • Can anybody tell me if he means 100 degrees Celsius, or 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the oven temperature? 'Cause those are two VERY different temperatures, and this is a British production after all. Anyone?

  • err 100 celsius,

100 f is prime food poisoning temperature?

    mark gilchrist

  • I believe it is 100 celsius.

100 Farenheit will barely warm it let alone cause it to sizzle.

  • I've just cooked the pigeon that way - it was some of the best meat i've tasted. I cooked it before and it tasted like shit (as in excrement not just a bad taste). Also got the same shit taste previously from pigeon, pheasant and rabbit... all roasted (in a 50 year old AGA if that helps). Any ideas why this would happen?

  • sadly with game it could be many reasons,

how long are you cooking it for?

how long are you resting it for?

how long are you hanging it for?

i am guessing that you are over cooking it in the aga, how long were you rosting the birds for?

  • Thanks for the reply. It was cooked the same day as shot. Should they be hung? (also had this problem with rabbits). I'm not sure how long it was roasted for but slightly less time than a chicken... how long should they be roasted for and at what temperature?

PS I see what you mean about pigeon tasting like kidney if you over cook it. I tried frying/roasting it for different amount of times and got it right eventually.

  • no need to hang pigeons, just eat them the day after you shoot them.dont hang rabbit at all they will only get worse in the fridge roasting apigeon there is a video up of me doing it about 15 mins the 10 mins to relax

  • I see - you serve it pink. I think I was roasting it for 40 minutes!

  • oh, yea roasting for about 15 max

  • You've been watching too much Ramsay - 'Yeah'!

Anyway thanks for that, just shot 90 pigeons but cant sell the Blue Rock so eating them now.

  • i like mine in red wine and surlots, will try this one thanks

  • well get on and cook it, it is that easy

  • Damn you Mark now im hungreeeeey, great video James thanks mate.
