I am 58 years old and heard so many albums...Abandoned Luncheonette is on my top ten of all time...wonderful songs. I was so disappointed when H&O cruised to bubblegum. I suspect H&O were too.... But Daryl has a nice house.
One of my favorite albums when I went to college in the late 70s. We used to drink cheap wine and smoke pot and listen to this album. It's still a great album.
@SophSinging i think this is their artistic masterpiece myself. every song is fabulous.. not one bubblegum pop tune, like in their later (more successful) stuff..
This song is absolutely what it was like when I met my fiance. We saw H & O in concert in the Summer of 2009, they were amazing, but I was disappointed that they didn't play this one. It's been one of my favorites since I was a little girl and used to listen to H & O with my older sister.
Dontcha love it when a flip side song turns out to be a hidden gem like this song is? Like finding buried treasure-that you want to keep to yourself, but just can't!
Just a shot in the dark, I have all of the Hall and Oates Hits but in casette except The Abandoned Luncheonette. I am looking for the cassette I already have the CD. Let me know.........Thanks!
I came across this song late into my H&O education, but boy, what a gem it is! A superb tune, timeless and very much playable nearly 40 years later!!! Wow!
Absolutely, one of the best of Darly Hall & Jon Oates..............! Love SARA, and LAS VEGAS TURN-A-ROUND............. and so many others........... Thanks for the oppurtunity to hear it again and again...!
John Oates' voice is just as smooth now and it was when this was recorded. This is one of my favorite songs from Hall and Oates...and they have a a lot of them! Thanks so much for putting this one up!

This one and "Las Vegas Turnaround" are the two best off of this album. And they are both lead by Oates for a change.

Sadly, this beautiful song was never released as a single, and, in my opinion, it is their VERY BEST ever!

what a beautiful song. it's nice to know that, although john oates is pushed to the side many times, he is given a chance to shine with this song. <3

One of my favorites. Have the album and played that side over and over again. Put it on a casette tape to play in the car, back in the days....

My favorite Hall & Oates song. Never played on the radio, unfortunately, but surely overplayed on my old stereo...till the grooves wore out!
