@kraigmims1 Nope, I had it on for about 15,000 miles before I sold it and I never had a code or issue, that includes driving through some terrible weather too
whats up with the valves sound wierd....mazdaspeed 3 is an amazing car i wish they make a AWD model. thats the only reason im leaning more to buying a WRX..(winter ) u know... enjoy it
It's the sound of the fuel injectors. It's direct injection (DISI). Look at other videos of MS3/MS6 and you can hear it. It's really loud in a garage. I appreciate you lookin' out though =)
@hitmangui2 yes ms3's sound like that. its a direct injected u dumb ass.. all direct injected cars tick. dont talk about what u dont know or understand
I'm fairly certain they are developing an exhaust manifold for it like the 1st gen has, but I don't think it's out yet. I could be wrong but keep checking the forums for news.
Yup! It would work and you should do it. Once you get it installed you will regret every mile you didn't have it ;)
I have driven it in a HUGE rainstorm and when I got home to my garage the filter was almost completely dry. If you are worried, you can get a pre-filter from CP-E, like a baggie over the filter to help.
Ive got a CAI on my old Scion tC. One time here in Florida there was a FLOOOD! I mean all of a sudden i was in a puddle of water that engulfed my whole front over the windscreen. Somehow it didnt hydrolock. Point is you have to be in a really deep puddle to hydrolock it. I dont think I would get another CAI tho, even tho i liked it 1st and i always pushed it cuz of sound, it lowers low end torque, and i like my car quieter (less attention & cops)
@fazedjoker123 Yea if you drive in a deep enough puddle you bet you'll get water in it. Trust me just took my motor apart and drained all the water out, not fun. But cold air intakes are worth it. Just be careful.
yeah man. I have a mazdaspeed intake also on my 2008 and noticed that my rpm range went through the roof. I can get about 6200on the rpm range b4 I feel the power start to die off.
Did you install it yourself? If so, how easy is it? Does it fuck with the warranty? I got mine 2 weeks ago and am wondering if I should put the money in some upgrades.
My friend helped me. The CAI took about 45 minutes and we didn't have to take off the bumper or the wheel. Just opened the splash guard to put the filter on at the end. Get a MazdaSpeed CAI and they will be even less likely to complain. I don't think it can void the warranty unless that is the part that caused it. The intake is a huge upgrade on the Speed3
You can use the current one, but I personally would wait and make sure they have an official part number for the 2010. Make sure it has an air straightener
I'm getting one soon, prob in jan. (the car, not the intake) First thing I wanna do, is get a BOV. Then Exhaust and intake at the same time. Gonna be amazing. Good choice on the car. =]
Im pretty sure the Mazdaspeed has a BPV (Bypass valve) and if you replace it with a Blow off valve it will mess with the tuning. I could be wrong but from my understanding of BOV and BPV you shouldn't replace one with the other.
Awesome man! I just got my 2010 Blue Mica about 3 weeks ago. Been talking to the folks over at CP-E and they should be posting dyno numbers for this CAI this week. They are also working on a prototype for their cat-back. I'll be getting the CAI within a few weeks myself. Can't wait!
Hey im worried about my car throwing codes when i install this... have you had any problems at all?

it is against the law for a manufacturer to viod your warranty. people dont know this and thats why they take advantage of it.

don't put a BOV on this car unless you have engine management. It messes with the MAF.
