  • walking in the middle of the road.

    >.> thats sort of dangerous.

  • If they were going to remove the mountains in my area, i am willing to DIE to save them.

there are better ways to mine, strip mining and mountain top removal inside forests and sensitive ecosystems are not the way.

    go underground.

  • For another documentary that you can watch online and that tackles Massey Energy and Mountain Top Removal watch Recreating Consciousness - Coal Consciousness - Part 6 it deals with the same issues and is really compelling.

You can see the full video on Vimeo

  • Few fight for humanity.

Wall St. Journal, 7/19: "The best community journalism seems to come from people who own the papers they operate. Perhaps the most inspirational example is that of the remarkable Gish family, which puts out Appalachia's legendary Mountain Eagle in Whitesburg, Ky. The Gishes have owned the Mountain Eagle—motto: 'It Screams'—for more than 50 years, during which the paper has never stopped shining a beacon into the darkest corners of its little section of coal country."

  • there is more energy in coal in the u.s. than all of the oil in the middle east!!!!! so keep crying bitches and we will keep mining

  • see, here is the problem. You want things done, you don't make a peaceful protest. You make people die

  • don't believe the bullshit these assholes are saying. they are fucking stupid and they don't know what they are talking about.

  • would you sell out your kids chance to grow up in the same beautiful west virginia that you did? for what? some shitty gas guzzler truck and a bullshit log cabin house up in the woods somewhere? is fucking up west virginia really worth that? do you honestly think these greedy motherfuckers would ever say okay we have done enough lets just shut down our profitable business that exploits uneducated ignorant west virginians? no they would fuck up every mountain in this beautiful state if they could

  • @murphyhurtme uneducated ignorant west virginians??? suck my hillbilly cock you hippie loser

  • they do use the grip their media has on your average uneducated west virginia family to make you think everything is in your best interest. if your power company earns record profits and your utility bills are through the roof and higher than ever before who is benefiting there? who is benefiting when some jerkoff is taking a carribean vacation and you are trying to get the lights turned back on for your kids? give me a fucking break. it creates jobs but it is fucking your average working family

  • Racial equality crisis?? wtf

  • Racial equality crisis??? Its quite obvious these brainwashed liberal idiots have no idea what they are talking about. Go away!

  • I have a job, and I think coal is evil.

  • Look at the retarded hippies. They can protest because they don't have JOBS.

  • It's not your land either it's land owner land who get paid royalties if and only if they allow companies mineral rights. Companies cant just mine anywhere they want you don't even know the process that takes place...

  • @wturner0018 not true. if you own the mineral rights and sell them but don't own the surface rights.. the surface rights owner gets royally screwed.

  • It more expensive because all of the bogus fines and regulations and the externalties are like climate change opinion an politically based. Look at co2 output compared to global climate it's not related

  • @wturner0018

    Dream on...

I'd love to agree, but I'll go with all those Nobel-prize-winning and other top scientists instead of the lackey mediocre scientists (yes, Virginia, there is a difference) paid by the fossil fuel companies.

  • @Truedear

For the last 4 years the Nobel Prize has been awarded to people not even pertaining to science. Al Gore is not a scientist and Barack Obama isn't either...Listen like I said we will be mining and you will be protesting its just how it is. The bottom line is cheap energy will be the answer until something else is created. You should respect the miner he provides you with energy.

  • @wturner0018 Yes, you say it like it is. But I can't help noting that you say, "until something else is created" and its passive voice. The one where nothing gets done until someone somewhere does something. WE all have to create an alternative, by creating and demanding. Solutions are all around us: look into switchgrass, for 1 tiny bit of the solution but oh so...entrancing, even. BTW, You're referring to the Nobel PEACE Prize; I was referring to the Nobel Prizes in the sciences.

  • @Truedear Listen reserves are estimated to last 200 years until nuclear powers image is changed, solar power becomes less expensive and until wind power can be more efficient coal will remain dominate. Your just against corporations and unfortunately for you people work for corporations. I work for a corporation that produces coal and sells it as a good what do you do? You can't tell Appalachians how they feel I am one and we enjoy working and providing a living for ourselves not from government

  • @wturner0018 I work for a corporation too. I don't see what that really has to do with it.

  • Cheap energy? "Coal is not cheap, and it's definitely not good for the environment. Government agency numbers are now showing that much of our country's coal is becoming more and more expensive to extract. Plus, the real price of coal doesn't include all of the problems it causes - the externalities. The price we pay for electricity from burning coal doesn't include the price of cleaning up poisoned water" and permanent loss of the land for other economic uses; that's lots of bucks.

  • I work in an underground coal mine and am 100% healthy. Health care cost come from deadbeats like yourselves who go to the doctor for any reason

  • @FluxRostrum,@Truedear Well Coal mining isn't gonna stop until a cheaper more efficient energy source is found which probably won't happen for a while. You guys keep on protesting and I'll keep on mining. If you ever want a real job just let me know...

  • @wturner0018

Cheap energy?: 1) OUR TAX DOLLARS:

"Well, according to a new analysis from the Environmental Law Institute released today, roughly $72 billion between 2002 and 2008.

More than $54 billion of that was in the form of 23 different tax credits for oil, coal and natural gas producers, including those overseas, most of which are permanent provisions of the U.S. Tax Code."

    2) How about adding all those other costs: for health care for breathing in polluted air is 1 tiny example

  • @FluxRostrum I give you win you are so smart and witty I can't compare or relate. You must be quite the avid sportsman you probably live in the woods and are one with nature like that grizzly man from California that became dinner...

  • @wturner0018 I enjoy Jesco White I don't live like that but I can enjoy time with the family a few times a year.

  • @FluxRostrum Exactly liberal has no argument so it attacks typical...where are you from anyways?

  • @wturner0018 Exactly you assume anything not Conservative is liberal and if the argument doesn't fit doesn't fit the predetermined "right" answer you don't even hear it. .. hunting in WV use to mean getting out in the woods and tracking, with trees & rocks around its sport. Sitting on the edge of flattened mountain waiting for game to appear in your sites from up to a mile away.. doesn't take a lot of skill. if you perceive that as an attack then I guess that's the way you hunt. > Morgantown

  • @Trudear I live here and I love MTR it's where I hunt, fish, and camp but your probably against those things too

  • @wturner0018 It takes a lot of skill to shoot an animal that's stupid enough to wonder out onto an immense open field with no vegetation. If those mountains an trees where still in the way that would certainly cut into the amount of beer you drink .. cause you'd have to get up off your ass and actually HUNT for the animal.

  • @wturner0018

Ah! The stereotyping game! So much fun to be had by all!

I love camping, been fishing, and would love some more people to load up their freezers with deer they hunted cause I'm tired of seeing car-killed dead Bambi moms on the road.

Look, I'm not into telling people what to do (I certainly don't like it). Is it paranoid to think that someone is when they're just concerned over the poisoning of human beings and the complete destruction of a (beautiful) part of this country?

  • Check out the movie On Coal River.

  • why to twist gods message to suit your own needs anti-coal protesters.

  • Most resonable West Virginians are against mountaintop removal. Mountaintop removal acounts for less than 3% of WV jobs. We will be just fine once we get rid of them. We will too.

  • Heeeeeelllllllllllllllloooooooooooo Flux, you stupid lieing bastard, guess who's back??? That's right, FUCKYAMOUNTAINS IS BACK!!!!!

In my opinion, everyone of you stinky, matted hair motherfuckers can rot in hell. You need to go back to Florida or Cali, or wherever your from, because you NOT WELCOME IN WEST VIRGINIA!!!

BTW, When is your next planned protest at Marfork???? You've done got chased through the woods once, kinda looking forward to the night we catch you! :)

  • @fuckyamountains I'm from WV. We're not all ignorant. Just the ones that fuck the mountains. What happened to you, get tired of your sister?

  • @FluxRostrum.... Na, I figured I'd roll off your wife for a lil bit.... Soooo what part are you from???? You told me about this time last year you were from Florida, so which is it, WV or Florida????

  • @fuckyamountains I travel alot, I'm from WV. spent the 25 years there.

  • @fuckyamountains

Whaddya worried about? Reading your comment, I can safely say that few must be the ones who will care about you.

  • Lett them Sit in Jail.I Beleve in free speech as much as anybody. You take away the mines and there will be alot out of work.miners are the backbone of our society.who wants a job flipping burgers the rest of there lives at like 700 bucks a hour that is like maybe 2 gallons of gas and then u have your kids to support.my grandfather was a coal miner and he made a decent living at it back then.we should honor the ones who died and thank them for risking there lives so we could have a hot meal

  • i wouldn't give them one dollar let them stay in jail and maybe they will realize if it wasn't for the coal mining industry they wouldn't be jobs here.

  • wish they all would die these protesters are very bad people they have been connected with westboro the guy in the video talking at the beginning was carrying a sign that said god loves dead miners

  • Cops should be protecting the public they serve not the corporations wallet

  • This is just apart of the share the wealth campaign. They are against anyone who makes a profit. Its almost like they want everyone to be dependent on the government such as themselves. Listen to them preach about corporations...We earn our living by the sweat of our brow not by protesting people that do...

  • @wturner0018

Seems to me they're against those who earn a profit by poisoning other people. And you might disagree with them, but they actually care about other people. Please understand that only a few are willing to spend all that time and effort for others, even strangers. That's the way it's been and probably will be, sad to say.

  • you need to just shut the hell up we need to coal what you think makes you lights my dad is a coal miners ad we aint scared to go to jail either you damn ass holes

  • Jesus hates coal.

  • Why are they praying to god to protect a state, country or even world that the bible tells will be destroyed by god. Doesn't make sense.

  • Don't compare Chernobyl with this. Remember nuclear power is clean. So why did every one of you not cross the trespassing line. Wonder why scared. Lets go practice what you preach. Most of you would make good bitches in jail. Trespassing is illegal, littering is illegal. They deserve to go to jail. If they broke in my house late at night I would have shot them. IT is caused self defense.

  • I see no christians in this videos, what i see are liberals pretending to be christians by perverting the words of Christ, talk about fear mongering. bunch of dirty filthy hippies trying to control our freedom....

These are not Christians people, remember.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matthew 7:16

  • @777archangeI777 Shut the fuck up. Matthew 5:21

  • @FriendTron450 How about you make me tough guy, i might be a Christian but id be happy to satisfy your curiosity? There was a time when i took pleasure in smashing a guys face off the windsheild of his car. Christians are not perfect, hence the need to ask forgivness for ones sins. You might bully the rest of the people on this thread, but i aint skeerd. so how about you take a step back before you get your feelings hurt.

  • @777archangeI777 ye shall know them by there fruits indeed. even might be curious christians that smash faces with windshields and hurt feelings. you keep on asking for forgiveness asshole. because i dont think the first request took.

  • @FriendTron450 You run your mouth alot, good thing you have a keyboard to hide behind, might get your head busted open out here in the real world. when ever your ready tough guy !!!

  • @777archangeI777 it has a keyboard. its called a computer. and i bet your mother doesn't know that you are using hers...lol

  • @FriendTron450 I know this, without Christ. neither of us would be the men we are today. 20 years ago i would have already ended you. Today i know that giving my life for yours isnt worth the time or my life. much less my soul. I know garbage when i smell it and you wreak of the filth you sow. Christians are not perfect and nowhere does it say we are or do we claim to be, but at least, we are trying. more than i can say for you.

  • @777archangeI777 your a judgmental intolerant douche. and if i were given a chose of burning in hell of spending eternity in heaven with you or ppl like you. i would chose hell. period.

  • @FriendTron450 Enjoy your stay dont forget to dress light and wear sunblock #472 its going to be a hot....

  • "When the corporation becomes enthroned, an era of corruption in high places will follow. And the money power will endeavor to prolong its reign by working on the prejudices of the people until wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the republic is destroyed." - Abraham Lincoln

  • FUK MOUNTAIN JUSTICE ORG

  • @bikekev73 FUCK BIKEKEV73

  • Comment removed

  • @FriendTron450 all im going to say is....ur a real piece of shit........

  • @bikekev73 and like your not. posting on a vid that you know nothing about go watch cartoon network cock straw.

  • Haha these people are crazy I would say less than 70% of these morons even have jobs why else would they be out protesting people who are actually working. They are just hippies without a cause it makes them feel righteous to be involved in anything MINE THAT COAL 4th GENERATION COAL MINER HERE!!!!

  • @wturner0018 then you are a 4th GENERATION ASSHOLE!!!

  • @wturner0018 I Just wanted to say Thank You for bustin your ass in a filthy hole in the ground everyday so the rest of us can wake up in a toasty house in the morning and have a nice steaming cup of coffee and a hot breakfast without resorting to rubbing two sticks together. I remember when your Coal fired our SteelMills. but thats all in the past now. They destroyed our future and now they are after yours. God Bless and Good Luck, your always in our prayers !!!

  • @777archangeI777 why dont u suck wturner0018's dick while your at it...

  • @FriendTron450 Im thinking with you being such a big blow hard and all you would be more suited for the job, besides im sure you have much more experiance on your knees...

  • @777archangeI777 this is the very reason i laugh when someone calls themselves a christian and then in the same breath talks about rolling heads. you haven't the foggiest of what it means to be a follower of Christ. all i have to say is "Jesus Save Me From Your Followers!"

  • @wturner0018 They are protesting because their planet is being destroyed and the water poisoned.

  • @wturner0018 "without a cause" ... it's comments like that that prove to others that you are not paying any attention to the actual content.

  • Jail is a good place for you illiterate, ignorant, mouthy treehuggers. What sickens me is the fact that you all use the electricity provided by COAL! Why dont you turn your light out and shut your mouths. You people dont even know what true mountain top removal really is. One more thing that bothers me is celebrities jumping on the bandwagon, and they dont know anymore that you morons do.

  • @broncofan13815 Fuck the Broncos.

  • The slurry ponds there are used mostly by the 7underground mines in that area. The surface mine that was being protested aginst was only opened in November so why start there why not start with the older mines and the electric companies. If the US does not produce their own coal they will only import it from another country.

  • I'm against mountain top removal but why do I have to hear this religious bullshit. Funny how god is always on both sides of an argument.

  • Amen

  • MT.TOP Removal is better for the ozone, the coal from it burns cleaner.Underground coal has to be cleaned(slurry ponds). Not to mention that there are fewer cases of blacklung, and fewer deaths due to job related accidents. And the land left behind is big enough for commerce parks and bigger manufacturers to move into. And forgive me if I am wrong but that means more jobs. That is why other states such have big companies because of the flat land to build a factory on,that is hard to do on a hill side

  • This too is bullshit. It's all dirty.

  • @bckyj6 Again, check your fcleaning the MTR coal around coal river has produced huge slurry ponds.

  • The slurry ponds there are used mostly by the 7underground mines in that area. The surface mine that was being protested aginst was only opened in November so why start there why not start with the older mines and the electric companies. If the US does not produce their own coal they will only import it from another country.

  • Oh and if ya put wind mills up dont u have to cut down trees and dont ya have to keep em cut down so they dont get in them just imagine how many migrating birds are killed by them!:(

  • That's bullshit...but I appreciate the effort.

  • man this is west virginia u stupid tree huggers this is the only good paying job people what cant u understand about that..no mines=no money,so shut up...go massy, and console!!

  • Go spell check.

  • what are the income sources of of the local anti coal people and have they and their families benifitted from dollars generated from coal? now that they have theirs they want peace and prosperity, but no one else to have a piece of prosperity for them and their families. the local "activist" are frauds.

  • If they want to do something about it they should go all out and burn down corporate headquarters. Appalachia didn't need coal before, we don't need it now.

  • West Virginia is exploited by coal companies, power companies, former timber companies goverment, politicians and the media

  • I would love to see these idiots that marched shipped off to China or Iran and then watch them complain about the problems they will really have. But please

send their Big Daddy Al Gore with them as

he is no use to working American families.

  • You have a good point, however China is more democratic than USA in several ways, despite your beliefs.

USA encouraged lot of terrorism and undermined lots of democratic processes in South America.

The oppression throw the media is outrageous, even Cuba is more democratic than USA. But you are not allowed to have the whole information. Just have a look from your enemies point of view and you will be shocked.

  • This is the most dumbest remark ever. In China you do what a company or government does. In America you can voice you opinion as such. If China wants to live in slugeville then they can-- if Iran wants to live in sandhuts go for it, but in American companies come and go-- and if wind tech is better or hydro etc then new jobs will come. American families can adapt to anything--its been going on for 200 years.

  • That is not true.

USA undermined and destroyed more democracies than anybody else.

The media in USA, says something else, and US people believe it.

USA can make as many atomic bombs as they wish, and other countries cannot have even one (I think nobody should have them anyway)

Even Iraq was destroyed for having nuclear weapons that never had. The media was terrible.

Even Cuba is considered a terrorist country despite that have 45000 doctors helping people around the world (not soldiers)

  • You are an ignorant bunch. Do you know how many people have been KILLED by MTR?! We can find a solution that doesn't involve human sacrifice. It must start with people educating themselves.

  • Do some research you stupid Fucking idiot...There was more Wal mart Employees killed last year than in the Coal mines....Lets shut wal mart down...I didn't think you and the rest of your tree hugging idiots would go for that.... Stop wipping your ass with toilet paper it kills trees...and the faget at 4:35 needs the shit kicked out of him

  • there is no danger in the dam breaking you pathetic protesters need to know the facts b4 running your shitters leave wv if you dont like it i have 3 children in the school and it is completly safe god is not for you protesting you will burn in hell for trying to stop coal mining

  • they've begun blasting right next to it. if it blows it will be an environmental disaster larger than the Exxon Valdez larger than the the slurry damn that broke in TN .. Comparable to Chernobyl. If it breaks 1,000 people will die almost instantly. If god wanted flat mountains he's have made us the the Flat Landers

  • @FluxRostrum If God wanted... If God wanted... Is that your main arguement? Pathetic.

  • @bobby123greenhalgh No, maybe it's the message of the person who said it.. but that's not me

  • @FluxRostrum In your comment as your conclusion you stated ". If god wanted flat mountains he's have made us the the Flat Landers" I assume that was you on your youtube account that typed that and not the random people in this video.

  • @FluxRostrum look, my main "argument"... I'm not really all that into God. but I know a lot of folks are. In this particular video there are a lot of God heads and though they may use different logic to come to the same conclusions I do.. we agree on the bottom line regardless of faith. I'm just trying to speak those who claim to be religious and yet come to conclusions that run counter to a faith based life. The bible is a decent self help book and little more.

  • wow... just wow. educate yourself... no really.

  • @amandaking77

Why? Is God a share holder?

  • @bekalynn825 God IS the ULTIMATE shareholder.

  • thank you guys for trying to starve out me and my family ....

  • you stubbornness is creating Chinese Jobs ... Thanks alot.

    ourfuture . org / blog-entry / 2009114502 / offshoring-wind-energy

  • stopping mountaintop removal won't "starve" out your family. In fact MTR has caused MANY coal miners to lose their jobs. MTR is far more inexpensive for coal companies because this method takes the coal miner out of coal mining.

  • Coal explotation will starve more people. Sorry mate, is proven around the world.

  • I don't think these people realize how much the world not the US depends on coal.. I work for Norfolk Southern and if they shut down mining there goes alot of our work also....I couldn't begin to tell you how many coal trains we move a day, But I do know that it will put alot of people out of work. I hope these people and their family starve because that is what they are doing to our neighbors and friends

  • They literaly blow up mountains... i think it is worth finding an alternative. do you realize how important our environment is. what about the thousands of animals that will die? blowing up a mountain will cause much more death of humans and animals. you know what a damn bursting will do? you know how many people will die when a damn bursts? listen to what they are saying.

  • @MrJdbf150 if your family is starving because you cant remove a mountain top. you got bigger things to worry about like...HELL!!!

  • If you talk to God,ask him to send me a good paying job not in the coal mines...I already ask for a good job and the coal mines is what he sent me.

  • :~) Will do.

  • @thager11 The God obviously hates YOU!

  • the guy at 5:47 has a cocksucking cramp in his upper lip....

  • You can bet that these tree huggers wont do without their ipods and computers and tvs and everything else that coal provides. There are a lot of alternatives in the works(such as solar, wind, etc), but NO ONE has came up with a viable alternative that will work for this country's electricity needs. Until they do, they need to be thanking everyone in the coal industry every time they turn on a lightbulb!

  • Don't be misinformed by these crazy people, DivinityBlue. The coal companies are making money, but so is ANY business. The workers are paid fairly for their labor, and they do not harm the land...if anything, they help it to be more useful. When the mining is done, the land is reclaimed to make places for airports, shopping centers, farms, golf courses, and all sorts of things, which create jobs and helps the economy in these coal mining states.

  • how many millions of acres do we need for that shit? And Why do they not need to flatten the Hollywood Hills for the same reason?

  • Make a Donation, they do really good work!

  • you can lead a dog to water but you can't make him drink same way with people you can show them jobs but they still won't work because they are so used to getting money handed to them from the government so if you don't like wv move to california and enjoy the wildfires and all the gays and retards who like child pornography

  • end that retarded method of mining. Make jobs doing something else.

  • I invite all fellow coal miners cover your face and attack these terrorist!!! If they want civil unrest us country boys will GLADLY play that game our own way, maybe when they start getting broken jaws and bones they will go back where they came from

  • If you can't out argue them, i guess you can just break "jaws and bones," huh?

  • Hmmm, looks like we'll just have to find us some sheets and road cones, revert back to what works!!! LOL I'm with ya brother!!!

  • And if I mention anything about ignorant, racist, short-sighted, knuckle dragging barbarians, I just could be referring to a Massey Licker.

  • And if I mention anything about a cock sucking, cum guzzling fag, I am probably referring to you.

  • As I understand it, there's long been GREAT WEALTH in Appalachia, in WV and VA, in the form of coal and other forms.

However the coal wealth has NOT been shared with residents and citizens, instead removed by "private" corporations for remote shareholders. The main point of incorporating a company is to EVADE personal and civic responsiblility, evade taxes and sidestep tort.

The main purpose of mountaintop removal: ELIMINATE LABOR and JOBS, to render the remaining labor force impotent.

  • The coal wealth can't be completely shared with the citizens if they aren't willing to work for the coal companies, or work at all for that matter! Every company is out to make a profit, that is the point! Massey Energy supports the community! And MTR sites do not eliminate labor and jobs! MTR allows the removal of more coal than an underground mine in the same spot! Most MTR sites can't be underground mined because the seams are to small.

  • Making their Profit OVER people eliminates jobs by design... that's how they make more profit. By paying fewer people. Providing health care for fewer people. And by ignoring the health of the people in the communities that they exploit for their profit.

Since the seams are to small; have you ever heard of throwing back the small fry?

  • Don't understand why you all say MTR doesn't require as many miners??? You need greasers, mechanics, shotfirers, more security personnel, coal haulage people, etc. And Massey doesn't ignore the communities!!! I live right below a surface mine and no one around here has any health issues, dust problems, runoff problems, cracked foundations, etc.

As far as throwing back the small fry, hard to do when people need the energy to do what has become neccesary in day to day life.

  • Indeed Dilbert...

This map shows MTR sites in Appalachia and the correlation to poverty.

    tinyurl(.)com/lf74gu

As you will see, MTR sites are mostly surrounded by the poorest communities in the U.S. Yet we are led to believe that MTR is bringing wealth to WV.

  • If I mention anything about the barbaric practice of turning a mountain inside out for some cheap coal with no regard to the local residents who have lived there for generations, and no regard for the local surface water, and no regard for any future generations of West Virginians, I am probably referring to mountain rape for profit mining.

  • Idiot christians. Talking to the non-existent man in the sky will do nothing. Walking around holding signs with (not so) clever anti-mining messages will do nothing. Yelling at these people will do nothing. Getting arrested for these actions will do nothing. Taking legal action will do nothing. Your "right to protest" is yet another device to control you, to make you believe you are actually making an impact. What has happened to the fighting man? What has happened to the revolutionary fist?

  • It's not an invisible man in the sky, its the tangible man inside !

  • Kill coal & you kill West Virginia. It's amazing how blind people really are; so easily miseducated about surface mining, especially here in Appalachia. I hope the Brushy Fork Impoundment doesn't break but IF it ever does I hope all you f_ckin piece of shit treehuggers (mainly matted hair hippies) are protesting at Pettus and become swept away by the flood. Dumb*sses!

  • It is unreasonable to think we can just stop using coal... it makes up half of this country's energy.

But Massey needs to mine responsibly.

Practices like MTR and slurry injection are dangerous and reckless.

    Stop MTR.

    Move Marsh Fork Elementary.

Get clean tap water for Prenter.

  • WTF??? Marfork doesn't use slurry injection, that is why they have a slurry impoundment!!!! They mine legally!!!

  • if that's legal. then the law is fkd up.

  • Massey uses slurry injection everywhere they can in addition to slurry impoundments.

Prenter is a few minutes down the road from Marsh fork and its water has been fucked for years, making people sick.

  • Ummm, this video is about Marfork... They use no slurry injection... Just as Goals or Elk Run uses no slurry injection...

Prenter is about 25-30 minutes downstream from any of the 3 mentioned prep plants. Also, the water flows OUT of Prenter hollow into the coal river... Unless they have a MAJOR gravitational pull issue, there is no way water from coal river is going up prenter!!! WAKE UP!!!

  • Okay I guess I should clarify... If I am talking about Massey doing slurry injection and blasting nearby, poisoning ground water and giving people cancer and gallbladder disease, I am probably referring to Prenter, but I could be talking about slurry injection in general.

  • I'm not aware of a Massey prep plant doing slurry injection in prenter, as Independence has slurry impoundments, I could be wrong, but until I see credible proof, I call BS. They do blast nearby at Black Castle, but as for the fact Massey gives people cancer, etc... Again... Bullshit

You scream back it up with facts, but you sit here and talk shit like this with no known facts? What gives?

  • I guess you think I'm making this up. Google "Prenter"... there are dozens of sites citing water analysis and testimonies that in the past years the water quality has gotten worse and worse. People are sick. They truck in drinking water now, but these people have to bathe in this stuff. I'm not going to do research for you... the information is widely accessible.

  • Speaking of facts, read back through the comments on these videos and you'll see that I've posted dozens of links to studies articles and testimonies that support my assertions. It never seems to matter to you people. So If you want to see facts that support my argument, you'll have to look at the comments. I'm done doing your research for you when you people just brush it off because you don't like it. I have yet to see anyone on coal's side post citable facts.

  • I did "google" prenter wv, and all I found was studies done by ENVIRONMENTALISTS. When an independent company or the government does a study, then I will accept the results. And as I recall, I never asked for your help with research. I live in the coal river valley. Fact is, Coal is the Coal River Valley, without it we are nothing.

  • If I am talking about exposing small children to toxic coal dust, increasing their chances of lung diseases such as emphysema, decreased lung function and cancer, or if I am talking about a school that is directly below a slurry impoundment that holds billions of gallons of toxic waste, which could fail like Buffalo Creek did, I am probably referring to Marsh Fork Elementary

  • Thanks to you people, they are building a new Fairdale Elementary to house children from Marsh Fork and Clear Fork. So we thank you dumb fucks for making the children of the communities ride a bus in the near future for about an hour. Where are the facts that these children are even sick, just a door to door survey? Children didn't start getting "sick" until the out-of-state protesters started showing up, so WTF?

  • do your kids go to Marsh Fork? I wouldn't send my kid to a school that is constantly exposed to coal dust and is situated right under a slurry impoundment. Do you think coal dust is good for a child's lungs? And Buffalo Creek was deemed safe days before that disaster that killed over a hundred people, so I am skeptical when people say the dam is safe. I don't understand the argument against moving the kids. Why do you want to continue to endanger children?

  • I went to Marsh Fork, no problems here. They monitor the dust at the school, it is not in excessive levels! Buffalo Creek dam wasn't examined like the slurry pond dams of today. The are tested by an independant company 3 times a week for compaction, water seepage, etc. The argument against moving the kids is simple... We don't want our kids to be on a bus for an hour, actually 2 hours there and back.

  • Coalvein that is the best comment I've read all day.

  • stick you green jobs up your green ass

  • If you believe in evolution... you're about to become a dinosaur... except that's going to be your choice. Darwin will take care of you.

  • People to Protest to...

  • BAIL IS ONLY 10 FUCKING %. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. YOU ONLY NEED $1,800.00. THE FUCK YOU PLAYING AT.

    Anyway, good luck.lol.

  • speaking as someone who was arrested at the action. The judge told us that our bail was cash only (dollar bills) and a bondsman couldn't be used.

  • phil u are an ass and sludge dam or not

that protester said it best energy is free and never ending its called conservation LAW we have never needed fossil fuels since the creation of the wind mill let alone geo thermal tide harvesting solar power and general kinetic energy

free power for every one and with free power comes free food if you can get water and electricity to anyplace you can grow food just lookt at the amazing pot warehouses on utube all well screwed by the monetary system again.

  • Are you an engineer? I am and I work for Massey. You probably did not graduate high school. What is there is legal. Do you really think the government would let a sludge dam be constructed there if it was a danger to the communities? There were no laws concerning the construction of impoundments when the Buffalo Creek disaster occured. There is now. Thousands of surface miners. Ten protesters. Good luck

  • are you claiming that the government has never created any laws that allow for practices dangerous to human beings, or just that it is so presently?

  • i dig the name ...sheeple

  • i would love to have a private investagater go to follow you people who push this hard to end coal and see what you people really do,IF ANYTHING,to earn a living.i know a mast majority here where i live live off people like me that work to pay for them to sit around or organize thier little demonstrations.while we work. also to see what they drive .guarantee you all drive cars boats lawn mowers, whatever expells exhaust that kills the ozone. as for frieghtmaster and his civil war theory.IGNORANT.

  • I've grown weary of your ignorant intolerance and ASSuMEtions. you are not here for dialogue, just to repeat the same unfounded bullshit over and over without hearing the rebuttals. Good luck Phil. When the Wind farms come in you'll still have a job... if you can adapt.

  • That's right Phil... If your one of the lucky 50-60 people that will be hired to care for this wind farm, then you can say that you are truly lucky... Wind power, HOW GAY!!!

  • Great video.

I can tell by some comments here that some people would live in a cesspool for a few dollars more! Well impo, there will soon be civil war II here and folks like them could be fair game! Lets see if their corporate buddies will come save them.

  • Actually I drive a vehicle that runs on waste vegetable oil. Emissions from which have been proven to be remarkably better that petroleum products... or coal.

and I have a bike too.

    This is my job.

    I don't do it lazily.

  • Hmmm, odds are that the plants that process your "waste oil" use electricity from coal... The trucks used to deliver it when it is virgin oil to your source runs off of diesel... The place of business that used the oil before you do probably uses electricity from a plant that uses coal... The plant that made your bike, more than likely used coal to melt metal for the frame or chain, etc.

Think about it, you support coal... HIPOCRITE!!!

  • there are no "plants" involved in recycling waste oil from restaurants. no trucks to deliver... yeah , maybe whatever... Your really stretching, trying to prove a pointless point.

  • Soooo vegetable oil is produced straight from the ground, it doesn't need to be processed??? First I have heard of that one!!! Trucks don't deliver it??? Are you so concerned with the environment that you hand deliver the oil to the restaurants on foot? I don't think it's stretching anything when I have a valid point!!!

Again, think about it... YOU SUPPORT COAL, and we thank you very much!!!! HIPOCRITE!!!!!

  • GOD is in full controll of the earth and what happens with and what happens to it, and as for your comments fluxrostrum, facts are facts, coal makes affordable energy and jobs and useable land,so YOU my friend have a lot to learn. i guarantee you drive a vechicle that expells all kinds of pollution. put it this way. if you people are so against coal and surface mining. sell your cars buy a bike. turn off your electric.you people are in need of 1 big thing i can seeA DAMN JOB,
