  • You are definitively an Extrovert Feeler and Introvert Thinker, and high SJ, so INFJ is highly probable, but you should select a best fit from descriptions and it sound like you already have. Big INFJ fan here: You rule.

Stereotyping and MBTI: I like the NLP perspective that MBTI is a "Meta program" set, that is context independent perceptual filters, that is, it is not what you Are, but what you Experience. /(reluctant ENTP)

  • thank you for your video i really appreciate it right now (infj)

  • advice for infjs from an infp turning ambivert, we know your kind and caring, hey so are we lol, but please stop telling people what to do,stop being indirect in your political correctness of others, and stop killing yourselves for every wrong u see, u cant stop it, are all infjs like this, is it remotely possible that infjs stop telling others what to do?

  • @RESEARCH13579 omg.... thats so true XD :S

  • holy snap, almost all infj talk the same way and same facial expressions lol wow

  • the way you talk reminds me of how kristen stewert talks.

is she an INFj as well/??

  • You kinda talk like me

  • oh my goodness you look like a young winona ryder

  • i didnt like the test....too many questions that could go either way. i took it twice and got two different types, INFJ, INFP, and actually maybe one more i cant remember

  • INFJ's are hot

  • You remind me of Winona Ryder. :o)

  • you look and sound like winona ryder

  • Hi, nice video. I think you are really a Myers & Briggs INFJ because your expression are like that. There is always that awkward impression that you give that you struggle for being intellectually objective with your feelings. This creates a sort of tension in an INFJ's face. What do you think about the INFJ-ness of the user Brackenck? I think she is rather Socionics-INFJ (Fi/Ne/Ti/Se). This was the result of her last test. For long years she took herself for ENFJ. Would you check it out? Thanks

  • @TheoStuss I've talked with Brackenck quite a bit, and I do believe she is truly an MBTI-INFJ. I've talked with many INFPs online along with INFJs so over time I can see/feel a difference in our interactions. Between the two of us, our minds seem to mesh very well so I'm certainly not questioning her INFJ-ness.

  • @jenilyn8705 Thanks for answering me, although my posting was from three months ago. The question between Brackenck and me was, if she was the MBTI or Socionic type of INFJ. Is she Fi/Ne/Ti/Se or rather Ni/Fe/Ti/Se?

  • @TheoStuss Yeah, sorry I've been rather busy and haven't checked my messages on here. I knew she was debating a while ago. Flipping between socionics and MBTI is tricky and I usually just like to say to look at them as two separate entities since the function descriptions in each a bit different, despite the same names. I do feel like she is an INFJ MBTI though, in our discussions our way of thinking has always been quite similar.

  • @TheoStuss I've noticed over time of dealing with MBTI that you can notice some things with mannerisms and appearance, but I think the best measure is just looking at what a person says and how they say it. A person with Ni is going to have the answer and have trouble not looking too far ahead, while someone with Ne will be more focused on following the journey of experiences.

  • @superearthbender Now, in terms of a person's mannerisms and how we move our eyes is a study in psychology. When we have to think of answers to certain questions, for example, we can have a tendency to move our eyes in certain directions. In terms of personality, this reflects how we naturally process information. The YouTube user DaveSuperPowers has many GREAT and very educational videos talking about differences, as many people have misconceptions and lack completely understanding.

  • @superearthbender Also, the determination of weight is variable upon the individual regardless of type for several reasons: 1. You have your own personal choice as to what you want to eat and whether you choose to exercise or not, 2. Cultural factors can influence what you eat and as to how much, 3. Genetics can play a factor (though lesser) than the other two.

  • @superearthbender Also, both INFJs and ISFJs are expressive because we have extraverted feeling, as this allows us to show our feelings on the outside for everyone to see. The types that won't be as expressive are INTJs because they have Ni-Te-Fi-Se. Their feeling is introverted and only in the tertiary place, while their Te is secondary. If they Te is developed they can certainly appear more extraverted than a typical INTJ, but they don't express feelings on their face.

  • @superearthbender Also... one other thing I've learned is that any S type is more than likely just going to look directly at the camera the entire time rather than (wander) their eyes. I've noticed with INFJs, we tend to either look to the sides to use Ti or up or slightly upper left to use Ni. I'm not sure how much of that is shown in this video but it shown very much so in other videos where I talk about Ni and such.

  • @jenilyn8705 To give something so specific as to how one moves their eyes around is along the same lines as saying a personality type is generally overweight or thin. Although, I actually agree with both, I think they are too specific and can only be relied upon when used in a collection of attributes given a situation.

Also, one thing to note, when I typed as ENTP, I read the description and liked it, and started moving toward being more logical because it's my ideal, but it's not my nature.

  • @superearthbender Second, I understand the socionics is a separate entity from the MBTI and that's how it should be looked at to get the most accuracy (it appears). However, all of the intertype relations I've read don't seem to correlate at all with my experiences. MBTI makes perfect sense to me -- socionics just doesn't.

As far as me being an ISFJ... I have a tendency to despise in viewing things via Si. I typically have trouble being around SFJs for long periods of time for this reason.

  • @jenilyn8705 The intertype relations don't relate with your experiences because you're an ISFJ (ISFP socionics), not INFJ. At least be open minded to it so you can test the results.

MBTI and Socionics are based off the same theory, so essentially they're pretty similar. I don't know all the differences, but for the most part Socionics just moves the last two functions to the end, putting all other possible functions inbetween the first and last two. I think that's the nature of any differences.

  • @superearthbender Excuse me, but I have done research on the MBTI for the last 4 years. I am 100% positive I am an INFJ, as I have associated with many INFJs that I get along well with perfectly as well as ENTPs. I do not process information in a "this is what we do in the past so this is in the future" as Si does. I have a lot of trouble interacting with ISFJs and ESFJs because their conversations bore me.

  • @jenilyn8705 Well then I guess that means you're an INFJ. xP

  • @superearthbender I did look into socionics a while back when I saw several people making reference to it on the MBTI forums. Based on what I read, I don't see it as being as accurate of a measure as the MBTI fora couple reasons. The one big one is that I think this correlation that they've somehow come up with for body type versus personality type doesn't make sense -- how can whether a person is thin or not determine their type? Now mannerisms yes but only their physical appearance

  • @jenilyn8705 I was typed between ENFP, INFP, and ENTP. Every time I take the test now I get INFP, but that's because it tests for specific characters (E, T, etc), not your overall personality.

Also, for easier reference of Socionics, try looking up Sensory Ethical Intratim (SEI), it'll give you good results on google.

Anyway, I'd like to talk to you about it because mistyping is extremely common. Also, people naturally choose what they want to be, not what illuminates their faults.

  • @superearthbender MBTI and Socionics are entirely two separate entities. Why? Because their descriptions of cognitive functions are very different. Their theories of functions are seen entirely different. In THEORY, if you are an ESFJ in MBTI then you are ESFj in socionics -- but if you are an introvert and ISFJ in MBTI then you are ISFp in socionics because they focus around whatever the extraverted function is.

  • @jenilyn8705 I don't know what you're referring to with "because they focus around whatever the extroverted function is".

The theories are different? Hmm, well I suppose you could say that. I'm not an information gatherer, but I think Jung made the base theory.

I'm also not sure where you got the concept about them using past experiences to solve new problems. That's mostly attributed to old age. Also, ISFJs generally like to be involved in Philosophy, and they indulge in new perspectives.

  • @superearthbender Which ever theory you are using, F & T are judging functions while N & S are perceiving functions. In socionics, they determine the j or p based on which function is first to be extraverted. They are both based on Jung, but both are quite different from Jung's initial theory. Socionics was developed by Russians a few decades ago. The MBTI has a different structure in that the functions are described differently.

  • @jenilyn8705 I think you're referring to Dominant functions in your second sentence.

Well, I haven't read Jung's theory, but I have found few differences with Socionics and MBTI. I've read some of the summary of both and they seem to be mostly the same, with minor differences which can be attributed to specific attributes they didn't seem to understand well.

I suppose I mostly rely on my own interpretations of what functions do, as they didn't seem to explain them very well.

  • so this is where all the cute INFJs and INFPs are hiding.... YOUTUBE!

  • Wow I don't know where to begin, you clearly state the INFJ personality, kudos to that. At first I got an ISFJ which was fairly somewhat of me. But when I took it again a couple months on, I got INFJ which gave a more precise definition of me. I'm glad I took this so I can decide which career path I'm taking, and understand my strength and weaknesses.

  • I like the burp at 2:28, rofl. Go INFJs! Yay!

  • loved the video i give you a lot of credit as an infj too, i could never do that

  • INFJs tend to be unhappy...

  • @daotrananhduy If you are a negative person, regardless of type, of course you are going to be unhappy.

  • Comment removed

  • @jenilyn8705 your right. but its INFJ nature to be attracted to sad things, which is why we are so earger to learn more about INFJ. The fact that INFJs are so sensitive does no good to themself comparing to its advantages. When an INFJer tries to solve a problem he sometimes merely makes it worse because the problem itself isn't even a "problem", it's just something he made up in his mind. 1% of the world are of our type and INFJs are super introvert, the result is we are just isolated loners.

  • @daotrananhduy If you are a very young INFJ, then this may be the case but not with a grown mature one.

  • Comment removed

  • @daotrananhduy Then they need to develop their Ti more...to come to conclusions about the reasons why they're unhappy...and to develop a good plan to change these circumstances. ;)

  • Holy crap.. Winona Ryder much? LOL :D

  • You totally meant mannerisms, not aneurysms, right? ;) ahaha

  • Jeni!!!! That's all (:

  • Microeconomics FTW! I think behavioural theory will change the foundations of micro in a few years. Well, I sure hope it does ;)

As an INTJ I find few things appealing, but I actually found you interesting. Bravo.

  • you're super attractive. kinda of have a winona ryder thing going on :)

  • I find this video to be very interesting. I am also an INFJ female, and I noticed that I have a lot of the same verbal habits as you. I am new to learning about different personality types and I am completely intrigued by this. Great Video!

  • @crownedoblivion Thanks!! :-)

  • Hello from an ENFP!

  • So. many. misconceptions.

  • @3rogue Um, ok?

  • I talk exactly like you! It's so cool!

  • Yay for Macro economics...hello, I am INFJ too.

  • I only know 2 INFJ in my life, my aunt and my roommate. They are such a joy to be with. I feel very at ease and relaxed around them. I love both of them to death. <3

  • @goosebump91 Your a lucky INFJ. Remember that :-)

  • @daotrananhduy haha actually I'm ISFP but it is lucky be an INFJ :) Such awesome people

  • cute :)

    im INFJ too

  • cute

    im INFJ too

  • you almost look like a female version of me and have similar mannerisms.

I get INFJ in all the tests. (But I don't believe in personality testing, it's just a kind of stereotyping). Jung's original intention was he wanted to make the world more tolerant of different people. But Sartre has a good argument against stereotyping yourself, it's a way of making yourself into a solid object, and denying your freedom.

I also studied economics and got one of the best marks in my university!

  • @Alessandro1985 The MBTI is a good base for understanding how a person processes information internally and externally. It can help you to perhaps consider how they are perceiving it and why they have the interpretations that they have. Is that the only good measure? Not at all -- there are many more layers to a person than just personality preferences. Things such as life experiences, family values, culture, etc. also impacts.

  • @jenilyn8705 its more a "cognition" typing. how we process info. the process we go through when making decisions. it should not be limiting to an individual. if anything it should be freeing. also, The J (in the end) is really just a preference to have decisions made, not left undecided. my ENTP husband definitely is less "scatter brained" than me. Im not scatter brained, just not always good at verbalizing. sometimes my verbalizing is "scattered". thanks for sharing. I too LOVED econ!

  • @Alessandro1985 Well put I'm INFJ have have fallen to those processes, It has been really terrible.

  • @Alessandro1985 dude where did Jean Paul Sartre make that argument? Care to talk more?

  • cool

  • Hi , im an INFJ too , and when i looked at the profile of an INFJ, it was scarily accurate, its like looking in a mental mirror... everything it said was me.I always thought there was something wrong with me until i discovered that was in a minority of personality typesThis has done me no end of good and made me understand myself better, because i am such a deep thinker , especially about humanitarian and world issues I'm now looking for other INFJ's to contact with.U on facebook jenilyn?msg me

  • You remind me of Winona Ryder :) .

  • I'm an INFJ too :)

  • You're cute and have a nice soft spoken voice but you ramble quite a bit almost aimlessly. Like I know you're trying to say something but it takes you forever to get it out, is that a J trait??

  • @mozymarr I think it is more of an N trait because there are so many thoughts going through my brain at one time that the thoughts go 100x faster than the words coming out of my mouth.

However, I will comment that in my other videos I did not ramble as much. I did with this one because it was my first video and I had no itinerary as to what I was going to say.

  • @mozymarr It is the "introverted thinking" characteristic of the INFJ.

The "thinking" function, or logic as you may put it is required in the forming of language, is introverted in INFJs.

Which means INFJs have to introvert and disconnect every time they think to speak.

They would be better off conveying their ideas in writing.

  • @mozymarr ...cute...nice...voice...ramble...aimlessly...takes...forever - I'll second that.

  • you are very pretty.

  • forgive my ignorance... WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT it sound like witchcraft to me. but you seem so nice lol i cant tell whether to hate you or not. stop been so cute pleez HELP ME DECIDE!

  • @filthyfew77 Watch the other videos that I have posted because I go into greater detail about the personality type assessment and characteristics of being an INFJ. This video was a vague basic description. If you're not sure what the MBTI is, then google it and take one of the online assessments.

  • It's so completely eerie how similar our manners of speaking are.

  • Organization really has more to do with Extroverted Thinking and/or Introverted Sensing that the J preference. Most J stereotypes only really fit STJs, which share no preferences with NFJs. INFJs are often considered the least organized and most perceiver-like judgers.

  • @magister343 I am aware of this as well... I simply did not go into extensive detail about it for this introduction video. In fact, the whole determination between J/P solely being based on organization or lack thereof is really a stereotype, because, for instance, you could be a INFP and be more organized than an INFJ if they have a developed Te and Si, which are held in the INFP's third and fourth functions.

  • Your comment about thinkers making lists of pros and cons is quite wrong. That is not a T trait, but a J trait. It would be most common wit those with strong Extroverted Thinking, but Extroverted Feeling would still be more likely to use it than Introverted Thinking.

The letters of MBTI do not mean much per se, but point towards the order of use of Jungian cognitive processes. INFJ and INFP actually have none of the top 4 processes in common, and their order is very different. You are no INFP.

  • @magister343 Yes I'm aware of this. I have researched a lot about the 8 different cognitive processes and understand it quite well, though I am still learning of course. I simply did not specify making pros and cons lists to be Te only. And yes, I am well aware than INFJs and INFPs hold none of the same top 4 cognitive functions -- completely different way of viewing the world.

  • haha definitely an INFJ.. aka the Mumbler, aka the Rambler.. lol.. i'm the same way..and yes you are super cute.. and its actually around 1% of all the world population. SUPER DUPER RARE!!!.. and we're psychic

  • 0:30 comparing different aneurysms. Aneurysms are bulging blood vessels.

  • @bigbufobufo yeah I know -- I said it quickly and it came out wrong. I meant mannerisms.

  • @bigbufobufo I found that slip of the tounge really entertaining, as I interpreted it self-ironically ... it seemed to raise questions like whether mannerisms are caused by aneurysms

  • I feel bad for everyone that isn't an INFJ like us :(

  • Comment removed

  • ha! this is cool!!

  • Definitely INFJ and super cute.

  • @OspacemarineO :-) thanks!!

  • @jenilyn8705 ;) ENTP here :D

  • Thanks for posting. Unfortunately, since I can count the infj's I've met on one hand, this is very helpful :-)

  • @BryanMaltais Great!! Glad to be helpful!! :-)

  • Why would you want to define yourself as an acronym? Youre a person, and a pretty one at that. If you would like to vent your feelings, do so. But plz don't try to find comfort in being a statistic, it only takes away what's human about you....

  • As an INFJ, I'd have to say that I don't find comfort in being a statistic, but find it easier to understand myself if I can identify certain aspects of personality. Also, not all INFJ's are the same, we are all still unique individuals.

  • @kingofdufferin Obviously you can fit every person into a little box and not expect them to reach somewhere outside of that box. Everybody is unique based on their different experiences and backgrounds. However, I find comfort in knowing that there are other people in this world that experience and "see" the world in a similar way that I do. We seem to deal with many of the same challenges and issues.

  • relaxx

  • which means im one of the 2% population im ultimate rare

  • lol you shuda done a take 6 XD im also INFJ

  • I'm an entp. INFJs are one of my favorite personality types. you all are so unique and have such pretty eyes. It kind of sucks that your type is so rare.

    :]

  • Thanks!! Yeah I wish their were more of us in this world too. May actually be understood better and we may grow more as a society since that seems to be something that a lot of INFJ's (and other NF's or N's in general) focus on.

  • definitely.

i'd much rather live in a society with more NF's, since they're dreamers and seem to think things through a lot more.

  • Okay well Ive never heard of any of this until about 8 minutes and 57 seconds ago, lol, I was wondering if youve ever looked into astrology? I feel that the two may very well be compatible and, if youd like, I think it would be pretty cool to talk a bit and kind of see how this and astrology fit together :)

  • Astrology? Not really - though I can get an interest in just about anything. :-)

  • Oh okay :) Wow I can totally relate to you, its kind of funny actually, like seeing an aspect of yourself in someone else haha. Could you maybe point me in the direction of the test that you take? I have a feeling that Im an INFJ too!

  • you'r nice :)

  • I talk just like you. Haha. INFJ love!!!

  • Do you have any idea why your science teacher would have doubted your INFJ-ness? I mean, we obviously exist, even if we are rare. That just seems a bit strange to me.

  • I guess he just looked at the statistics part of it and figured what are the chances of having an INFJ in a class of only 15 students. Plus, I was only 15 and there are quite a bit of development in personality yet at that stage, so I guess he just figured I better double check.

  • I think I hear a motorcycle somewhere there speeding up starting at 0:40.

    It's like every 10 seconds it's a new gear...

Yeah, it's probably your HD spinning.

Anyways, cool video though. I'm also scanning through these INFJs to get a better of them.

  • poor girl, you seem to be very nervous when talking. Hope all is well, fellow infj

  • I always feel incredibly awkward being video taped. :-/

  • Well exposure might be a good thing. Myself i am an educated singer. And as you probably might guess, i constantly got complaints about my breathing and my stiff upper body. But its not the technique, its the personality. Exposure is what it was all about, but to me it was a killer. I couldnt cope with it, so all in small doses i would say...

  • Another unique characteristic of INFJs is their mystical-paranormal aptitude. Do such things interest you?

  • I do, but its not in an obvious way -- its not like I read fantasy books all the time... its in a discrete way where most people don't even notice it. When I was little I always had this big interest in magic... I still find it interesting. Upon meeting me, many people see me as reserved and down to earth, but I have MANY more "layers" beyond that, which even those close to me don't see.

  • Yes, understood. We INFJs rarely have the opportunity to be our true, authentic selves. We find ourselves playing a role much of the time--and as you say these are typically more down-to-earth in nature rather than the extremely imaginative ones that we are so capable of. After all, we are not extraverts... but get us behind closed doors with someone we can trust, then Watch Out! Even though I feel that our priority is to be protectors and comforters, we do have an incredible array of archetypes

  • @questingQuentin I'm an INFJ, male - when talking in person with people I can understand their position & their state very deeply and insightfully - this is natural and automatic for me - and it goes beyond whatever they are saying and whatever their body language is -- the best way to describe it is a certain `feeling' or `energy' that I automatically sense from others when I'm talking to them...I think that this is a very rare and useful trait although certainly not mystical or paranormal.

  • You're adorable. This is coming from a fellow INFJ, and trust me you are one too so doubt no longer... Just remember to breeeeathe when you are making videos, smile more, and sum up more -teehee!

  • Thanks. Ha, yeah I'll try to work on that.... its a byproduct of being an INFJ.

  • I know... BELIEVE me, I know.

  • lmao at the email!

  • I think I understand things a lot comparing to kids my age. I could say that I know stuffs that most other ppl don't even consider worth knowing; things that is grand like nature, art, philosophy, economic, wisdom... People says that it's better if you just know one thing and do best than when do you know a lot. what do you think?

  • I'm never just focused on studying to "master" just one area. I'm interesting in all areas, because, to me, the world involves many different areas and I feel that can better see the "big picture" of various aspects and views when you just know a little about everything. I feel it's more beneficial and well-rounded.

  • @jenilyn8705

I think you and I have the same view on this. I'm interested in like almost anything, especially art. I just could not focus in one particular area for a extended period of time, but when I have the focus, when I'm in the zone, I think I could do better than almost everyone else. I don't know it's just me or this is a speacial characteristic of all INFJs
