  • Fuck Yeah for a bit of positive regocnition

  • Wow, the responses you re getting are incredibly messed up.

  • wow enlightened much?

  • fuck all these stupid comments below mine! both of you people RULE.

  • There are STRONG connections between feminism and all most of society problems.

  • Of course.

  • Hate his music, love the man's values, well, most of them... :-)

  • Please fuck off.

  • lol

  • ...

  • yeah, cause anytime your mother starts talking your dad needs to fuck her mindless slut ass.

  • I can only assume when you say "the cure for angsty feminists worldwide: a good bonking from your man, oh wait, you don't have one" means that you are still a virgin and can't figure out why the ladies don't like you. So the easy answer is woman are man haters, so there must be something wrong with them cause it couldn't POSSIBLY be you could it?

  • Now do me a favor and tell me how many women you get and how often you get laid. You get laid so much your dick hurts, truth is you still live in your moms basement and haven't gotten off of world of warcraft in three months...........including no showers.

  • Please go buy a classics library & drop off the Net for a decade, to read, like Milton...you are a grotesque stereotype.

  • Nice

  • Rollins rocks!! fuck yeah!

  • I love your channel

    Thanks feministing

  • I think Rollins likes the novelty value of the videos. Personally, I don't think that young women voicing an opinion is such a big deal & I'm suspicious of those who think it is. There is a difference between expressing a view that you hold regardless of gender & expressing a view because of your gender.

  • Rollins' support for gay rights follows a history of refering to homosexuals as "fags" & generally "having a problem" with homosexuality.

I'd suggest that his open endorsement of feminism is the result of similar sentiment regarding women.

I'd be suspicious of any man who felt it necessary to "endorse" feminism & very dubious of any woman who praised a man for endorsing feminism. It's almost as if both parties WANTED inequality to exist in order to publicly & actively oppose it.

  • Henry Rollins is number three on my "To Do" list. Not bad considering it's a very, very, VERY lengthy list.

  • did he ever e-mail? I bet he would.

  • ای کاش ما مردان از این بانوان غیور و شرافتمند ایرانی درس مردانگی و انسانیت می گرفتیم و متوجه می شدیم که اگر

  • Perhaps you'd prefer it if she lived a life where others hated her & she blamed herself for it...which was the fate of millions of women historically & continues to be so in societies where women are oppressed & ill treated.

  • You are awesome.

    Henry Rollins is awesome.

Awesome people tend to gravitate towards each other.

Perhaps I'm awesome too for watching this video.

  • You are freaking gorgeous and I love this channel.

  • Henry Rollins is a hero. Period.

  • I believe in equality for men. There is no Feminist who would ever support the rights of men. Thus, I am opposed to even the moderate Feminists. Because they solely represent women.

  • davehiggod:

silly silly person...you obviously don't know what feminism is. The definition of feminism is equality; not feminine superiority. You need to get some learnin' and would benefit greatly from any introductory sociology course.

  • Kick ass.

  • :-)

  • Let me be the first to offer an apology to Fr33artist. I'm truly sorry for whatever terrible "feminists" you've encountered that you have developed a stereotype that we are manhaters. It certainly wasn't me, my friends or anyone I've ever met.

The only manhaters I can even think of are girls who buy whole-hog into the idea of male supremacy and then whenever they are slightly upset they rail against the evils of men. However, I think I should inform you that they are NOT feminists.

  • There's no need to apologize. I understand what's it's like having people within your own group give a bad name to you.

  • There are far more ppl who label feminists as "man haters" than there are feminists who actually are man haters.

The exception is always made to look like the rule when people take a dislike to the majority.

  • Feminism is fucking Ironic. and these people don't see the hypocrisy in Feminism.

  • I agree FUCK FEMINISTS! Feminists enjoy censorship because they can't handle the truth. If feminists had their own way we'd be living totalarian matriarchy dystopia. Feminists are the most irrational, illogical and mislead people on the face of the planet. Feminism is a hate movement directed at men, it was designed by one gender for one gender, so is it any wonder feminism is becoming a female supremacist movement? There are many similarities of feminism with the KKK and nazism.

  • I agree FUCK FEMINISTS who think they are better than men, because that is just as oppressive as white or black supremacy. You are the one mislead however, because most feminists believe in equality among both sexes and all ethnicities. Name an act of violence perpetrated by a sane feminist, a hate crime if you will... feminism was not designed solely by women, it was an egalitarian effort and promotion. The media shows feminists in the worst light in order to undermine the movement.

  • It's a shame your feminist representatives, particular the radical femmes don't agree with this innocent equality you promote. Actually I would have more respect for feminists if they were only guilty of voilence. When Suzanne Steinmetz published her results on domestic voilence the feminist VAWA mafia used threats, intimidation, and twisting of facts until she had to go in hiding. Feminists twist the truth in order to defend their position and direct hatred towards men.

  • It depends on which radicals you are talking about. The radicals who want to end sexism asap or the manhating feminists who get so much attention (even though there is less of them than us). I'm not quite sure of the feminists you are talking about who 'twist' the truth besides the extreme feminists. It is comparable to religion, a few weird mormen sects (Muslim extremists etc)and the whole of Christianity gets a bad rep. The majority of feminists are not "evil".

  • Harriet Harman is an example of a radical feminist. It doesn't matter if they're a rarity because the fact is they have more power than ten thousand ordinary feminists. I agree that most feminists are in fact reasonable people but the fact is, mainstream feminism believes that aggressive tactics are the solution to the evil of this world, such as that 'claim back the night' stuff at universities; how about teaching people basic respect rather than attempting to demonise men all the time?

  • "I agree that most feminists are in fact reasonable people"....yet you began by saying "fuck feminists" in block capitals & describing feminism as a "hate movement".

Fittingly, you ended your comments with this line..."I understand what's it's like having people within your own group give a bad name to you". But do you understand what it's like having ppl outside your own group giving you a bad name? No...therein lies the problem.

  • Yes but minorities are the ones that both direct and represent movements. Radical feminists, though a minority, are far more likely to lead a group of feminists than non-radical feminists. If you cannot deal with these yourself then you leave me no choice but to describe and expose them to the world.

  • true that

  • Yay! Feminism! Sorry, just wanted to support Feminism and Feministing.

  • Rollins alpha maleness tone always struck me as a chavenist, aggressive, intolerant and self righteous. Although I agree with the majority of his positions, I found the immature manner he expresses himself dishearting.

  • You seem to be suggesting that he should express himself in ways that are acceptable to you. Ppl ought to be allowed to express themselves as they chooose, even if we take issue with it. If he is an "alpha male", then he's likely to act like one. Better that he is "himself" rather than making insincere & tokenistic nods to homosexuals & feminists, which is what I believe he is doing as a response to the public perception of him such as you have expressed.

  • No, whats annoying about Rollins is he speaks in aggressive polemics. His appeal has more to do with the manner in which he expresses himself than the content of what he says.

Though I happen to agree with many of his positions, he lacks nuanced or self critical view. That is to say he's style over substance.

I'm under no illusions that others should pander to my views. That said, I do have this weird hang up about discourse ethics (fuck ya shout to Selya Benhabib!).

  • You have obviously never seen anything he's done other that his "Liar" video. Rollins can speak soft words around your head that grabs your attention equally as well as when he gets loud. The man is a genius and always will be.

  • that was directed at brokennarcissist by the way

  • Well that is a shallow assumption on your part. I've been subjected to more of Rollins 'tee-offs' than I would care for. Were those cliched letters to Ann Coulter really the fruits of an inspired genius?

When tackling an issue Henry wrestles down his subject solely in an attempt to humiliate another. His sensationalistic black and white diatribes play well to unprecious appetites which ultimately handicaps allowing for the adopting of fluid vocabularies.

  • Henry Rollins is one of the only male talk show hosts I will ever watch or listen to since he's one of those very few white men (in the media moreover) who recognizes, speaks about, and speaks against his privilege.

  • It might surprise you to learn this, but "white men" can't help their "condition". I can no more "help" being white & male than the maker of this video can "help" being female & of Indian desecent. Being white & male does not automatically confer upon you a "privilege". To suggest that white american males ought to "speak out" about being white & male in a white male dominated society, suggests that they ought to feel guilt or shame for how they happened to have been born, which is ridiculous.

  • @Arazante

Henry Rollins is a good guy. He's also not in the same position as the majority of males, being a successful liberal artist. Not a blue collar, working class father. I presume you're female. How many of your own privileges do you recognize/speak against?

  • Yes Henry!

  • ya! i love henry rollins :D

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Go Samhita! Thank you for putting out the information on people like this. Keep up the great work. :) --a fan

  • This is not about rights, this is about you being immature and bashing this woman even though she also has RIGHTS to make a video and express her opinions. If you don't agree with what she says, then say something that doesn't have to do with calling her names. You are exactly the type of person that makes a strong case for feminists.

  • You can say what you think sure, but you should be judging her by her speech and not appraising her beauty or skin. And evaluating a person's worth by their outer appearance is shallow and in this case racist.

  • What CurlyGirl said was it doesn't matter if you have the first amendment protecting you. It protects everyone including all the idiotic bigots of America and/or most of the developed world. It just is sickening to judge ANYONE by their skin, ethnicity, or looks regardless of sex. Feminism is working to try and eliminate any wrongful stereotypes and gender biases-including ones against or negatively influencing males.

  • well said, peanutbutterjellygurl :D

  • News flash! Everybody has stereotypes build into them, I'm a white calvinistic male, automatically you'll have stereotypes of me. Stereotypes are a fundamental part of human psychology but feminists, being as ignorant as they are, deny basic human nature - there goes another stereotype. It is the expression of these stereotypes which one must learn to control. Feminists deny the existence of neuroSEXISM, is it any wonder the scientific community feels held back by these oppressive feminists?

  • News Flash? I don't have any preconceptions about white calvinistic males! I do have the conception though that you accept the patriarchy as a social norm, which is not true. People are not born with stereotypes, they are taught from a young age to regard some things as "normal" or "bad" whatever depending on who raised them. This classifying function is evolutionary to determine behavior towards others. But racism and sexism are not traits and stereotypes can be damaging.

  • I think you're mixed up on your definitions here; stereotypes are not in themselves evil. In fact they're actually helpful. It's prejudice you should be worried about, prejudice is the negative association to particular stereotypes. Discrimination is the expression of this prejudice. So stereotypes in themselves are in fact a survival instinct. They were used in the past by tribes to be wary of other tribes and foreigners.

  • Thank you for the clarification, but stereotypes can be bad for example if someone saw a black man sitting on a park bench they might think 'everyone knows black men are worthless bums'.they stereotype black men as whole based on a general opinion (possibly taught by family), stereotypes can be prejudices. preconceptions can be unfavorable or illogical.

  • Having one's comment deleted on Youtube does not infringe on your First Amendment free speech rights. No court would ever find in your favor.

There is no quid pro quo for the oppression of women in relation to this.

  • I love Samhita! Smart, tough and an amazing voice!
