I finished this game like 500 times when I was 7 :D And, I watched the video for the ending music, best ending music among GameBoy games. Good ol' times :)

The first boss in this game is also one of the fourth sage mini-bosses in Contra 4.

the final robot boss can be beaten even easier: just stay in the opposite corner of the robot and shot at him, when he is on the right just jump straight up when the second or third rocket gets close and when he is on the left side jump towards the left side over the rockets. all you have to do is duck his arms and run towards the corner the boss is just leaving. really easy.

Really depends on the version you're playing really. Some Contra games could be totally pwned if you were any good with the laser. Killed some bosses in like 2-3 good solid hits.

Never finished this game. Got to the last boss, but I always had like 1 life and no continues, so I never beated him. I always thought that Super Contra is easiest of them all, but maybe it is because I propably played it the most.

Great run, I first got this game about 10 years a go (I had the Konami GB Collection version). It took me ages to get to the Black Viper boss, let alone beat him. And when I finally did destroy him I thought there was going to be something even worse next, the music made it sound like there was...only for some stupid brain to be there. And I was pretty pissed when your reward for beating the game was to play though it again!
