this is truely amazing, i've heard different maglevs use 4-6% the energy of an airbus to travel the same distances, and that the tubular ones in testing use less and are safer and faster
@RobertsDigital Well the US make have 'knowledge on maglev technology' ... as do many countries. But is the US actually operating a successful maglev train anywhere? ...nope.
Wow... This Maglev is extreme quick to top speed less than 2 mins than Electric Train more 20 mins. But Maglev is more expensive cost than Electric Train (eg. rail, electrical, engine) I heard British will buy a Maglev rail have travel more than 500km longest distance and reduce a hours! I wish ride this one on one day ! :-)
Edi kong dito sa US, is only 12 Cents (P48 equivalent to $1), Wow mas mora pa kasi yon train dito paponta ng san francisco. Anyway, ang swerte nyo naman. Sana meron dito sa america para maexpirience din namin dito. salamat sa reply.
mura talaga! here in london, the heathrow express will cost you £14 and its just a regular train. wait till they connect beijing and shanghai with maglev, im definitely hopping in
太极了! Thanks for this. I'm going to Shanghai from the US in a couple of months and I can't wait to try it out! Your comments will make the trip so much more enjoyable!
oh my...the heathrow express from airport to padington cost me 14 pounds!!!! hehe if they go for maglev in UK i cant imagine how much will it cost me LOL! i hope your wish comes true!
Nice one on filming this wowiejunior. This is the future of transport, if only we can get the cost of guiderail building down a bit. The speed is amazing!
i agree! guide rails seems so expensive but once its there, everything else will be so cheap, no to mention the expensive wheel alignment and other maintenance of regular trains
This is the future transport, replacing the airplane. Humans are amazing in inventing things when they realised the nature is getting screwed up... :)
after a crash in september 2006 the transrapid doesn't run anymore on germany's test track in emsland for visitors. but the failure which causes the crash was a failure by humans, not a technical one.
You're so lucky to have the possibility to take a real ride with the Transrapid. In Germany there's only the test-track, yet. Our politicians are some kind of crazy. If I sat in parlament the Transrapid train would already connect the most capitals of Europe ;o).
before shanghai, i dreamed of going to Germany but it was too far from the Philippines and it would cost me a lot, at 2006 i heard that transrapid is operating in shanghai for more than a year so went there right away, then i visited Germany the same year but i never went to emsland....so this 2008 i went back to shanghai JUST TO FILM THIS! LOL
More or less 350 pesos per ride in Philippine Peso. . . .
Round trip is equivalent to 560 pesos. . . .

I'm glad they use kilometers per hour, and not some retarded archaic measurement like mph.

We need that here in Munich so badly. It takes one insane hour to get from the city center to the airport.

you should try that in Sao Paulo... here it takes 3 hours!! :P
but then again... we do have the world's worst traffic here
