  • shoulda got a PC!!

  • @endlesswinter go fuck yourself.

  • Oh, I know that problem!!! On the control paner "startup disk" Can you change the startup disk. And then he needn't search the disk! :-)

  • Its is on something called"Network Startup" Thats where it tryes to find a network server to boot from go on Sytem prefrences and go to "Startup Disk" and click on the mac os x one not the network one.

    GOOD LUCK!

  • Id recommend formatting it and re-installing os x

  • Yes, That should help

  • The system is trying to search for a System Folder!

  • After i read some replys its most likely beccause it was old. but my laptop took a long time because i think i forcce shut it down. I have a lot of computers and it happened on my windows 97 god was it s**t

  • wtf is windows 97?

  • Windows 98 beta ;)

  • ohhhhh i didnt know that, thx for telling :)

  • It all depends on the sccreen how old was it and this happens to me on my laptop. i think it is beccause u have a lot of downloads, and or need a better monitor and hardware.

  • whast that thing in the middle of the screen

  • That computers light aint meant to be flashing like that. It's meant to come on when you boot it then shortly after the ping go out...Something seems more wrong than ram here.

  • It's flashing 'cause the camera's refresh rate isn't set up to the same rate as the LED's pr whatever... it does something with refresh rates.

  • Would an LED light show as flickering even when it's not lit up....I doubt it. I think it's somthing else. To the uploader i recommend going to System Preferences>Startup Disk and select your operating system file. See if that works.

  • No, I'm not a mac expert, but I can guarantee you that the led flicker has to do with the video camera.

  • from my experience, the G4's and the G5's and some G3's have a power led that flickers during startup

  • when i had windows 98 it did that..it took 9 min...but that was a long time ago

  • i'd suggest more memory (RAM), clean up your hard drive or get a bigger one (80 GB is the standard these days) and make sure your processor/CPU is being properly cooled (i.e.. check for burned out fan, etc..)

  • I agree with everything you said 'cept the bigger harddrive. It's nice to have space, but it doesn't make it any faster (unless it's a faster interface, rpm, a bigger cache, disk seek, whateve')

  • How much ram does it have?
