i bought a cheap ebay 15$ wheel before and the thing never bent, but it did feel cheap, and it was hollow in between the leather, but other than that it held up nicely, i just bought a 30$ deep dish wheel off of ebay, imma see if it holds up nice
What's with the spokes on the bottom of the wheel at 1:50, it looks tampered with?
I know ebay wheels are made much cheaper than name bands but if the knock was that flimsy you'd think they couldn't sell them at all. I think the flimsiness was a bit exaggerated myself, I mean, this is basically an advert for there shop/store.
Not hating or anything, just pointing out some things that caught my attention is all. :)
@FlatlandWulf The wheel was not in any way tampered with before filming. The box was opened, wheel laughed at and then we started filming. It is possible some shots are out of sequence but what you see happened as the wheel came. We cut it up afterwards to see how it was made and the main structure was scary. Just pressed tin CRIMPED onto the spokes. Not welded, or one-piece etc.
i believe it, they have used a bad chemical mix for the alluminium and that's what makes it weak and cheap. After you bend it one time its just gettin easier and easier to bend, those fake wheels are as crappy as they show...
Having just bought and fitted a Personal steering wheel (bought from driftworks) I can tell the quality is awesome, the wheel feels and even looks properly made.
Oh and on the Rota thing, I have rotas on my car, ran them into a kurb to avoid an acident, huge chunk taken out of the cure, a bit of lip damage to the wheel.

I have a copy omp deep dish wheel i got off eBay for $70AUD. I did this test and it is very strong. Didnt bend. My mate has used the same wheel in his drift car for over a year with no problems. I know you're trying to sell your product but don't bag all fake wheels. They're not all bad.

i only buy GT grant nobody copys them, and even if they did it would still be mahogany so it wouldn't matter nearly as much.....
i think the three bolts holding my grand touring to the install kit on would break before the wheel bent.... or maybe the mahogany would split from the steel.... hmmm
Not everything on ebay is "ebay knockoff junk". People do sell real stuff on there too, and less known brands that don't have a "prestige" markup. You just have to know what you're looking for and how to avoid the junk.

Ok, I think some of you need enlightening. This "Nardi" wheel is sold as a Nardi wheel, they list it and call it Nardi as if they're trying to pass it off as a real genuine item. Rota make a copy of brand name wheels, but they aren't selling Rota Grids with Volk stickers all over it, they are listed and sold as Rotas.

Never mind the abuse they take on track... Phil/Bon put up the shot of the S15 rear quarter after meeting the R32 Rear quarter 30/40mph.... The ROTA Wheel was intact!! That to me is the proof that they are well built wheels.
Well, that's not entirely accurate. Rota wheels are definitely not made to the same quality standards as the wheels they traditionally replicate. Also, they tend to be made by inferior methods. Now, in the cases of your S15 and R32, I would hazard a guess to say that you use 17" or taller Rota's. If I'm correct, I can definitely see why you've not had an issue. With the larger wheels, there is more material in the spokes and barrels of the wheels, making them far more...
...durable than their 15" counterparts. I've seen 15" Rota's snap like twigs under very little stress, just given the nature of their construction. Again, I'm not calling you guys liars... just that you're probably not aware of the entire issues that come with Rota's manufacturing process.

Never mind the abuse they take on track... Phil/Bon put up the shot of the S15 rear quarter after meeting the R32 Rear quarter 30/40mph.... The ROTA Wheel was intact!! That to me is the proof that they are well built wheels.

Well, that's not entirely accurate. Rota wheels are definitely not made to the same quality standards as the wheels they traditionally replicate. Also, they tend to be made by inferior methods. Now, in the cases of your S15 and R32, I would hazard a guess to say that you use 17" or taller Rota's. If I'm correct, I can definitely see why you've not had an issue. With the larger wheels, there is more material in the spokes and barrels of the wheels, making them far more...

If Rotas can handle the abuse pretty much all Driftworks cars, and 80% of uk drift cars, give them then, I think Rotas can be seen as proper.
