Huh. I found out about Nick Cave a couple years ago and was glad they included this song in the Harry Potter film.
Why should it matter where people heard it? As long as they heard it and liked it and want to listen to it again.

@kelseyhm The thing that annoys me is when kids say they love Nick Cave because they like this song. Yes they may love this song, but it's a bit presumtious saying you love every song the man has written after listening to this. If they had they'd probably be a little scared. I know I was after hearing Murder Ballads for the first time.

If you sprouted a hatred for Harry Potter because it increased the popularity of this song consider this: The scene set to this song was so powerful it turned me onto Nick Cave's music, and in turn, Cohen, Dylan, Tom Waits, etc.There are now a few high school sophomores in the country with an appreciation for great music. So thank the movie for saving my generation.

Some mainstream rap happens to be OK, too.

i did find this song cuz of hp, but i like it because of its words. its melody. the way it sounds, its absolutely beautiful. i never would have heard it had it not been in hp, but im glad i did. i dont like it because of hp though. amazing song

That's the sole reason people love it so much. All I'm saying is can we talk about something else as there is more to life than Harry Potter.
And you may see it as profanity, I see it as a word like any other because that is all it is - a word.
