  • I CANNOT believe the arrogance of some people!! It is completely shallow, presumptuous and narrow-minded to criticise other people's experience or feelings in relation to this song, regardless where they've heard it or how hard-core a fan you are! THATS why we still have wars and conflicts - cos some put their feelings and perceptions above others'. It makes me furious!

  • most are saying, they either found this song from harry potter or they are better than those who did. not all that interested. all im interested is seeing this incredible band singing this song during a live set! feel me

  • Great song :)

  • I just found this song in my ass which makes me better than anyone that found it off harry potter

  • Harry potter can listen to music in the future .__.? Cause I am pretty sure this song did not come out in 1998 when its based :P.

  • KXII

  • hey take a chill pill peeps, it dosen't matter if this song was in harry potter. its still a good song. and harry potter is anyway such a good movie. its not like its twilight or something :))

  • I wonder who these 16 idiots are who dare to dislike this video! .x

  • fajna ta piosenka leciała w harrym potterze w insygni śmierci w cz.2

  • Well, I first heard this song in HPatDH Part 1, but I searched this song simply by typing "nick cave" in the search bar and finding this in the suggestions. Therefore I did get here solely upon good taste in music. :)

  • Love how people try to justify themselves or ridicule others over when they heard the song. Some heard this through Harry Potter, some (like myself) are fans of Nick Cave and knew of it before....but possibly got a reminder watching the film. It doesn't matter what movie the song is in, it doesn't change the fact this is a truly amazing song. Thom Yorke's song in Twilight is amazing, doesn't mean I like the movie, nor does it mean I won't listen to the song because it is in such a movie.

  • @djbungo You sir, have a brain.

  • @djbungo

It's not that I think im better than them for knowing the song before that movie.

It's just fucking annoying that nearly every comment mentions harry potter.

Hardly any mention of the song or how good it is.

Just "Thumbs up if harry potter brought me here"

"harry potter brought me here lol"

    Ughh...

  • @Skeletonwitharaygun you should be happy that people have found it and like it regardless of where they/how they found it

  • @PotterFanatic1000

    Not really.

I know it and love it.

    That's all I care about.lol

  • the awkward moment when its not good music taste that brought you here, its harry potter

  • Thumbs up if you knew this song before Harry Potter!

  • I Like¡¡¡

  • My fave secene from Deathly Hallows pt1! Gives me goosebumps eveytime i hear this song and reminds me of Harry and Hermiones friendship.

  • such a good ass song

  • nick cave and harry potter? what is the world coming to. if they wanted a nick cave song they should have used stagger lee

  • @freeflyer246810 "you" "dumb"

  • the song is perfect for that hp moment. it seemed to be no hope, no future...

  • This song, is amazing. It reminds me of sitting in the cinema and watching Harry and Hermione dance.

  • everytime i listen to this song i feel butterflies in my stomache

  • What the fuck is this?? I just wanna kick that kid right in the head! He's ruining the song! When I hear this song I wanna picture Harry Potter Fingerblasting Harmione(You know he did, there's no way they just went to bed after that dance). Instead...WTF??

  • I love the meaning behind this song. Of course, nearly everyone thinks it has something to do with Harry Potter, but its really about the Holocaust.

  • @ThePhoenixLiberation it's not that people think it's related to HP. It's only that it also fits in the situation of that moment, children losing their innocence. That's all. So beautifuly sad.

  • @ThePhoenixLiberation There is quite a correlation between Harry Potter and the Holocaust. I mean killing of mudbloods, killing of Jews.

  • @nwsportstilidie I'm sorry, please dont use the word "mudblood," i take offense to it.

  • @nwsportstilidie you don't say! ...

  • how the hell is this not on rolling stones 500 greatest songs. jesus this is amazing.

  • Such an Amazing song...

  • What the fuck is Harry Potter

  • @4lligator well you know.....a series of 7 fantasy books adapted into 8 major motion pictures....but im sure you already knew that.....-_-

  • urgh i hate comments on YouTube so distracting, i'm trying to get into an amazing song, then all of a sudden i'm reading about how some kid heard this on harry potter while he was wanking and just as he heard the lyric " O Children" he came and now listens to this song every day to remind him of a better time in his life, i will try again....00:00

  • I first came to this song through Harry Potter the first time I heard it out of the context of the movie I thought of Hunger Games and later developed a storyline of two girl, a fugitive and a girl in training for patrol, ad the patrol girl finds her at the end and lets her escape on the train. I had a dream my family had to escape later that week. It was a culmination of things in my life, but I know this brought it on. When I found out it was gulag, i thought hosed you down and the Nazi shower

  • F*ck i wonder why the hell i met this song on a very difficult part of my life, now it brings so many painless but sad stories to my mind =(

    Totally miss her

  • Thumbs up if you found this song because of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt1

  • @KvickRodny

go throw youself in front of a moving train

  • @kingofcrunk1010 go get some taste. Twitard. -_-

  • Everytime I listen to this song (and I do, quite often), I have this awful feeling that something had passed, it won't ever come back.. The only way I can come back to being normal is spending a few minutes in one of the books, movies, games, anything.. The greatest song I heard in the last 5 years, definitely...

  • Addicted to this song. Amazed that Nick Cave just never quite sucks. Good thing this song was played in that Harry Potter movie - youth should get to know Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I see a lot of comments of people saying they found out about this band because of that movie. Well done, lads.

  • love it <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • I luv this song from Harry Potter 7. But it's so sad and I don't understand it. Is it supposed 2 b about concentration camps? Hitler? War? Children? ???

  • @Klwicky Its apologise from selfish adults, who have destroyed childrens life. Apologise that came too late and cant change anything now.

  • @TheJustCreative Wait, so is it about child abuse then????

  • @Klwicky Oh please... Im polish and I understand these lyrics better that native speakers? Cant you see what that little train at the end means?

  • @TheJustCreative I'm sorry no, lol im just a kid you know.. -_-

  • @TheJustCreative just like dumbledore and harry. wow. such a revelation on my oart. lmao!!!

  • jst watched the movie & fell in love with this song :)!!!!

  • This songs kind of reminds me of Pilot Speeds "alright". Which was used in the closing scene of Death Sentence (one of the greatest films ive ever seen btw). similar situation .

  • I will admit, I only know of this song because of Harry Potter. And yes, I love the song. But not just because of the film it was in. I have absolutely fallen in love with Nick Cave's voice. This is a wonderfully beautiful peace of music.

My question to all the fans of his music is this: Which album would you recommend to get me started?

I think this is exactly what I've been missing.

  • @xBloodytrusTx "Let love in". In my opinion is absolutely the best. Check the song of the same title.

  • @MinecraftKids12 shut upo

  • This is a beautiful song. I belive this will be te song to change our generation. We need to show this to as many as possible, so they can all bask in the light that is Nick Cave.

  • oh my gosh why are all the comments about hearing it in DH or not

can someone just be like I LOVE THIS SONG or I LOVE THESE LYRICS

this song makes me feel sort of mellow, just the tempo and melody is so great

  • Yeah, I heard about this song 'cause of Harry Potter.

But I don't like this song JUST because of Harry Potter. (Or because I ship Harmony.)

    It's a beautiful song.

    I love it.

  • yes, i heard about this song from watching harry potter.

so what? its a great song, and i'm glad i know of it.

without harry potter i probably wouldn't have known.

    beautiful song.

    also rainymood

  • I love Harry Potter, and it led me to this song.

But I don't associate the two.

This song is special to me, and I'd love it no matter how I found it.

  • I was listening to this song with rainymood in the background, and just before it started, thunder hit.

    Perfection.

  • damn hipsters just because the song was on harry potter they are afraid it might become to "mainstream"

  • this song reminds me of the children in the labor camps and death camps during world war two.

  • @therisakingdom It reminds me of the children in the death camps aswell, it is a beautiful song

  • Guize, those 13 dislikes are from people like me who love Rupert Grint WAAAY too much and have pain-response memories from this song in relation to the movie.

It's way to amazing to ACtually be DISliked... <3

  • I love this song :) and I just found out my father went to a concert of them, I'm so jealous..

  • awesome is all i think of to say for this song it touched me and made me choke up

  • 13 Dislikes... People know what is good music. I love this song and it touched me.

  • @RsAsteroid yeah, cus the 13 isn't human, obviously...

  • why the fuck did they stop making harry potter movies. sorry for language, there wasn't another word that stressed it enough

  • Everything is Harmony and nothing hurts.

  • Tribute to Nick Cave by Tripje J - Australia abc net au/triplej/events/straight_to_you/

    CHECK IT OUT

  • Woah this is in Harry Potter? Cool I forgot about that actually :) I remember I saw that movie before I knew who Nick Cave was and I really liked the song.

And I found out about Nick Cave through the internet haha.

  • Listen to this while thinking of all the good times I've had those 10 years HP has been out, and how exited I've been to watch the movies at cinema :)

  • I've loved Nick Cave ever since I chanced upon From Her To Eternity in the 90's. Thank you for putting this song up. If you guys like this song, you should check out his older songs from the 80's.

  • I never thought the only non-original song in the Harry Potter series would be by Cave! Good choice

  • @MinecraftKids12 shut up

  • this is from the harry potter movies? ...@.@ I just like the band...

  • harmony song, bye

  • love this song!!!! i want to cry!!!! HP ends!!!

  • о прекрасная песня надо сделать кавер ( :

  • found smth about this pic, quote

Young Nicholas? Copied from the cover of the Current 93 album. Oliver Duke Williams and others informed me that this is not Nick, but his son Luke!

  • i must admit i never liked enough nick cave's voice but i love this song

  • It doesn't matter where or how you learned about this song just enjoy the music! Music is supposed to bring us together! Good music is good music either way

  • this song is depressing... ;( idc what the lyrics are

  • Harry Potter :_ )

    It All Ends,

    Crying Now

  • Harry Potter. @_@ i still can´t get over

  • I liked them before too, but when a band gets publicity like this you're happy that more people are gonna start listening to them otherwise that just makes you a douchebag hioster. Nobody likes hipsters. It also makes you a sucky fan who doesnt want the band to succed

  • Well, apparently If it was in Harry Potter, that makes it not a gorgeous, heart wrenching, breathtakeing, ephiny induceing song. Yeah, your cool.

  • love the fact that the top rated comments are from the Potter supporters :') hahaha <3

  • Best song hear it every day

  • id rather have people find out about nick cave from harry potter than pitchfork. pitchfork are a bunch of hipster assholes.

yet years ago i found out about nick cave through pitchfork.

    fuck.

  • Oh, i love this Song.

    Is totally great :))

  • were this song in harry potter????

  • @pecne yes, is Beautiful *-*

  • @pecne in the deathly hollows part 1...after ron left them in the tent...hermione and harry dance on this song

  • hipster sees song in harry potter film. song instantly becomes uncool.

  • the chorus in the movie is what got me! being strung out to the end of the song makes the crash a bit more dramatic!

  • everyone whos overreacting about the harry potter shit...IT MADE THE SONG MORE POPULAR!! SO SHUT THE HELL UP AND BE HAPPY!

  • Huh. I found out about Nick Cave a couple years ago and was glad they included this song in the Harry Potter film.

Why should it matter where people heard it? As long as they heard it and liked it and want to listen to it again.

  • @kelseyhm The thing that annoys me is when kids say they love Nick Cave because they like this song. Yes they may love this song, but it's a bit presumtious saying you love every song the man has written after listening to this. If they had they'd probably be a little scared. I know I was after hearing Murder Ballads for the first time.

  • @dragonash1993 it's possible to fall in love with an artist after hearing one song. every love has a beginning. so much snobbery with music these days...

  • As long as we all enjoy and respect the song, who cares where we heard it?

  • I love this song... I don't have a lot of words about this... JUST AMAZING....

  • Q_Q so sad T_______________T

  • Gaaaaah I love Nick Cave. His music is just perfect, exactly what I want to listen to.

  • Urgh... I went to look up this song and Nick Jonas was the first 'thing' that came up in the suggestions box, totally killed the mood youtube! But then I listened to this and now I feel much better :D

  • this song gives me goosebumps, listening to it with my eye close is the most amazing thing. and yeah so what i heard this song first on harry potter

  • qk buena rola¡¡¡

  • If it honestly bothers you that Harry Potter made millions of people like one of the songs that a band you like made, then I'm sorry, but you have serious issues.

  • If you sprouted a hatred for Harry Potter because it increased the popularity of this song consider this: The scene set to this song was so powerful it turned me onto Nick Cave's music, and in turn, Cohen, Dylan, Tom Waits, etc. There are now a few high school sophomores in the country with an appreciation for great music. So thank the movie for saving my generation.

  • @TheConnorPM ^ THIS ^

  • @TheConnorPM It was the perfect song for that scene. Yeah same with me, I always had a thing for non-mainstream music, but I just love this. Powerful tone.

  • @TheConnorPM Wait there are people who are MAD that the movie increased the song's popularity? i thought that was... you know, GOOD. It's hard to imagine that it even could be considered a bad thing. I guess some people lack common sense in that regards :-p

  • @johnmcclatchy it depends on what people do after they get to know the song. they go on youtube and listen to the song find out more about cave fine by me they go on youtube and start bragging about how awesome harry potter is or talk about harry potter they are bound to piss off hardcore nick cave fans. I know ,I am a pissed hardcore nick cave fan

  • @TheConnorPM Amen.

  • @TheConnorPM oh shut the fuck up. no one cares how old you are you twat

  • @TheConnorPM- Thank God. Someone who isn't into Mainstream music. I too am a sophomore, and I'm sick of the crap that comes out nowadays.

  • @Crazygirl1910 Some of it's good, some is dreadful.

Adele is fantastic, and Lady Gaga is actually a pretty good singer and pianist.

Some mainstream rap happens to be OK, too.

A lot of it is pretty nauseating, but not all of it.

  • i heard it in the harry potter movie. care. i like the song.

  • why does it matter that you heard it before harry potter? shouldn't you just be happy that such an amazing song was put into the movie? and i'll admit it. i wouldn't have known about nick cave, if it weren't for harry potter, but i'm glad it was in the movie.

  • I Love this Song.

And Yes. I heard it the first time in the Harry Potter Movie. And I'm glad because without Deathly Hallows I couldn't sit here and hear this wonderful song.

    Now you can criticize me.:P

  • @EliteChambers haha

  • Im so sad Harry Potter is over

    :(

  • This song fucking ruins me every time.

  • That was the loveliest scene I have seen for a while. The music made it, as always.

  • While I love Nick Cave, I did hear this song in the movie - and I'm happy I did.

Thumbs up if during the dance, you wondered what could have happened if it went differently.

    If you're a Harmonizer.

  • A hipster would say they heard this before harry potter!

    I would Be like >.<

  • Hey little train , don't wait for me . I once was blind but now I see.♥ ( 5:30)

  • i did find this song cuz of hp, but i like it because of its words. its melody. the way it sounds, its absolutely beautiful. i never would have heard it had it not been in hp, but im glad i did. i dont like it because of hp though. amazing song

  • Just the most wonderful ... <3

  • I cried when during this scene. <3

  • @xXTianaXx good grammar.

  • @SevenlostmusicVox Well I was going to write something else but quickly changed it. I didn't notice til now, thank you.

  • @xXTianaXx Haha I'm sorry I wasn't trying to sound rude, I was just joking :) I understood what you were trying to say and I agree, it was a very touching scene.

  • @SevenlostmusicVox r u a fucken teacher or something commenting about fuken grammar

  • @out2kill1 correction: "Are you a fucking teacher or something? Commenting about fucking grammar..." or something like that would have been better.

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up if you are here because you are actually a Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds fan instead of being here because you heard this song on Harry Potter.

  • @saramirez5061

Sadly, this won't get enough thumbs up. x.x Not dissing on Harry Potter or anything, but it's annoying to see this video being flooded with comments not appreciating the song itself, but rather some media it was associated with. >.> This song is truly amazing, though.

  • @saramirez5061 I discovered Nick Cave by accident back in 1992. Twenty years on he's still fucking brilliant.

  • Post-Potter Depression... Who else's got it?

  • @MrNauran I do T_T I watched Part 2 last Thursday and I cried :(

  • @MrNauran I have it bad! I can't watch it anymore or else I will ball my eyes out!

  • @MrNauran : I've got it! But this is a lovely song...once I heard it, I immediately downloaded it haha :)

  • @MrNauran me

  • :-)

  • fuck harry potter, i know this song because nick and the seeds are the fucking best

  • @HippieShred : yes , lets fuck Harry Potter , hrhr *-*

  • GENIAL

  • I'm glad it was in Harry Potter because I've never HEARD of this group and now I've discovered some great new music by (to me) a new artist. All you Nick Cave fans who are pissed it was in Harry Potter, get over yourselves already! Are you so narrow, you can't handle an influx of new fans?

  • @zeedrippyvessel No we're not that narrow. We used to have intelligent discussions on youtube (unheard of I know) until people came on and just started talking about Potter. Yes, the books were good. Yes, the films are entertaining. Yes, I grew up with Potter but I don't want to hear about it all the f**king time.

  • @dragonash1993 - Why the profanity if you're so 'intelligent'? To me - and many others - that's a sign of not a lot of language skills. I've never seen an 'intelligent' discussion on Youtube and I would suggest you either ignore the posts that offend, or consult a thesaurus to expand your language skills. I mean, we discovered this wonderful music because of the movie, yet supposed to say nothing because it 'offends' you? Tsk tsk. get over yourself already.

  • @zeedrippyvessel You miss my point. Potter does not offend me, it merely irritates me when people go on about it all the time. The whole consensus about Potter is that we grew up with it. That's the sole reason people love it so much. All I'm saying is can we talk about something else as there is more to life than Harry Potter.

And you may see it as profanity, I see it as a word like any other because that is all it is - a word.

  • @dragonash1993 - you misssed MY point. right now the only person harping about it is YOU! As for the profanity, the only people who use profanities are either immature or are seriously lacking in language skills. Take your pick.

  • @dragonash1993 If it's just a word why did you feel the need to censor it with *s?
