I'm playing SOTC now at the 7th colossus. I must admit THIS IS THE BEST GAME I'VE PLAYED MY ENTIRE LIFE! I have always been a fan of military games such as BF and COD games but this game unexpectedly hit the bullseye of my amazement! I'll be playing Ico after SOTC. Hopefully The Last Guardian will be out by the time I finish these games. Fumito Ueda for the win!!! Greetings from your fellow gamer here in the Philippines.
@OutoftheblueNinja Funner isn't a word and COD blows dick compared to this shit. Sure the campaigns are usually good and the multiplayer is pretty fun but it's just the same thing over and over again. The weapons in COD are boring, it never really feels rewarding when you beat the campaign and the multiplayer gets old within the first month of owning it. COD = overrated
Should I buy this or Metal Gear Solid HD Collection to go with Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Mirror's Edge, and MW3?
I mentioned the other games I'm getting just so you guys can consider the gaming style of each game and ask yourself if they (the three games and the one you suggested) will balance each other out well for me.

Sotc is a prequal to ico. (spoilers) if you look at all the colossi they have horns and after you beat them all wander gets horns. In the ending the guy saids he has cursed and did bad things to people for what he had done (or something like that). In the end of ico if you translate what yorda saids she saids (cured cursed link) (or something like that) which means Ico cured the horns
@ifoundyou37 well said man. The shadows that appeared at the secret garden in the SOTC last scene were the same shadows that Ico fought in the game. Fumito Ueda (the game writer and director and animator too) stated it himself.
I love the music for both, i haven't played ICO but the soundtrack is great! I had Shadow of the Colossus in the past but it broke :/. So last week I ordered the HD pack for ps3. I waited over the weekend only to find that play.com said my card had been rejected :( so now i have to wait longer! and i just can NOT!
These games are awesome i never had ico for the ps2 but i had sotc for the ps2. My only is that in shadow of the colossus the third and fithteenth colossus have a glitch that if they move barely wander slips. Its very frustrateing and i never had that problem on the ps2. They need an update for it
These 2 games are beautiful works of art which express and invoke many emotions in the player through subtle means. Everything, from the quiet story hidden in mystery, down to the camera angels and scenic settings, plays a role of artistic expression. As both a game and a work of art, ICO and SOTC stand alone from the more mainstream competitors. As such, I am proud to own both original copies, and look forward to completing this trilogy with the final addition of The Last Guardian.

On the HD version, every single movement of the colossi makes Wander slip..it's so frustrating.. for example..the 3rd and 15th colossi are so frustrating to kill in hard mode time attack..every single step interrupts my stab..really stressing... the creators RUINED SotC for me...i just wasted $40..
I have to go all the way to Gamestop in Fort Wayne, IN because the game store I have where I live only sells used games and Wal-Mart doesn't carry it. Fort Wayne is the only place closest to where I live. There are 5 gamestops in Fort Wayne and they all sell for $40.00 Brand new

I've only played the first God of war, Chains of Olympus, and a bit of the second. It's a decent series, but it's by no means in the same league as Shadow of the Colossus. Gears and Halo on the other hand are utter garbage. I'm not an "anti Microsoft" fanboy, I simply think if you're going to advocate the Xbox you should choose titles that aren't designed for idiotic 12 year olds that don't know what a real game is.

Very much looking forward to this. Although I times I found Shadow of the Colossus to be the most god-damn annoying game (the flailing controls and camera (although nobody seems to agree with me)) it still remains one of my favourites in terms of pathos, mood and the incredible art work.
Several years ago I worried that at some point all of my favourite old games (FF VII, Majora's Mask etc) would physically degree rendering them unplayable but remakes like this alleviate these fears.
@shangraz69 Unfortunately they will not. Of course I strongly believe there will be trophies and maybe a few extra content but other than that it's still the same. I will get this game because of ICO I didn't have the opportunity to play it back on the ps2.

I'm glad it's just a graphics/audio enhancement. I played SOTC again yesterday, and even though I don't judge a game on it's graphics, surprisingly it didn't look like it aged well at all. The frame rate was especially noticeable

i bought a 360 about a onth ago....just before i found out they were meking the shadow of the collosus remake ONLY for ps3....now im just sitting in my room yelling at my 360 telling it to tunr into a ps3

Very much looking forward to this. Although I times I found Shadow of the Colossus to be the most god-damn annoying game (the flailing controls and camera (although nobody seems to agree with me)) it still remains one of my favourites in terms of pathos, mood and the incredible art work.
Several years ago I worried that at some point all of my favourite old games (FF VII, Majora's Mask etc) would physically degree rendering them unplayable but remakes like this alleviate these fears.

@shangraz69 Unfortunately they will not. Of course I strongly believe there will be trophies and maybe a few extra content but other than that it's still the same. I will get this game because of ICO I didn't have the opportunity to play it back on the ps2.

@mralanv I'm actually happy about that. One thing I worry about when it comes to rereleases is "Are they going to remain faithful to the original?"
I'm glad it's just a graphics/audio enhancement. I played SOTC again yesterday, and even though I don't judge a game on it's graphics, surprisingly it didn't look like it aged well at all. The frame rate was especially noticeable
