this song was actually written about her relationship with owen wilson. which makes sense cause she seems to be pretty delicate about dumping his softy ass if you read the lyrics...and we read he news how he seems to attempt suicide whenever a pretty blonde breaks up with him (kate hudson)...it also appeared on the movie credits for "KPAX lol...then it became the epic 9/11 song when she performed it live on mtv
I LOVE this song. Probably my favorite song from Sheryl Crow. It's great to play right before you exit your comfort zone. or embark on a new journey. Deep..
I just now heard this (White Oleander) Why in the world did it not get radio play? Or maybe it did and I just wasn't paying attention. Anyway - one of my faves now.
This is also used for the credits of the movie "K-PAX" It touches my heart... and brings tears to my eyes... I've recently lost both my parents and my children have recently gone off to college.... just love this song! "I won't let go..til you're safe and sound".........
This songs represents to me the letting go of my lover, whom I always love so very much, but.........he needed to be let go off and I needed to be safe (emotionally) and sound.......brings me sooooo many tears but IS the best thing that has to happen
the song was actually being recorded the week before 9 11,obviously the song has become associated and was dedicated to the memory of those lost,it was written before
For me personally this song has been special to me and others Blackkendoll82 is because it isn't out right about "Romantic love", but about love in general and friendship and loyality and being there for someone even though horrible things are going on.
More of us can relate to and strive for loyal friendship. I'd rather have that than romantic love.
Plus the song is a bit ambiguous so you can decide for yourself what it's about.
She performed it on MTV show after the 9/11, and she sang it after being introduced by former major Rudy Giulianni. At the moment she was playing at the piano, a projection of images of the World Trade Center tragedy was rotating.
That was the first moment I heard this song, and I still remember it like if it was today.
To all of the victims of terrorism, I send you this song.
@arkano18cl That is the performance that I am trying to find after all these years! I can't believe that was the first and only time I heard it. It doesn't feel like it's been nearly 10 years! Impossible the tune is still as fresh in my ears the day that I heard it!
heyy has anyone heard this song slower??? We had a dance to it once and i cant find it. I dont think sheryl crow sings it...but it sounds so pretty slower. (not that this version isnt cuz i do luv this song immencely) but if anyone has info on it please tell me =)
One of the best most emotional song EVER. It can be about a friend, a lover, a sibling a parent, ANYONE. I love this song, it's so versatile (did I spell that right?) LOVE LOVE LOVE
@Dopadahahn Ah...with Nicole Kidman? If so, no it's not. It was used in "K-Pax" and "White Oleander", this song would not fit with The Other's, a period film set in the '40's.
