HEY I LEARNED THAT AS MY FIRST FORM!! that form is really easy, just keep it clean, strong, speed, all you wushu practitionars kno what im talkin about
I say enjoy the look of wushu. and jus train our traditional stuff and not make negative comments about wushu. Just let them do what they want. its a sport and its very nice to see wushu once in a while.
ok kids! Its all good but think what blade was driving at is that for us fighters we get tainted with the same brush. Performers not fighters and doesnt do us gungfu fighters image any good. But i do respect the athleteism and gymnastic ability they potray. Shame cant fight with it would be sooo pretty...
It's wushu. All arts are great. If you dont' like something just shut up and do what you like. Appreciate all the arts you ungrateful scum bag. All martial arts and gymnastics and such are wonderful to practice. Respect them all, it takes a lot of hard work and practice.
Blade77777- I don't see why you would consider this gymnasitics or degenerate Kung Fu. My teacher comes from Huenan, and comes form a family with a long line of Kung Fu practice and has discussed helping me get into the actual Shaolin Temple. If this isn't real Kung Fu, what is?
Minustar- my teacher dosen't speak English, so I'm not always clear on what style he's teaching me. But I asked my translator (my girlfriend) and she says to say this is Wushu and not Shaolin, is to use different words to say the same thing. Chinese use these words much more broadly than Westerns do (for example, they might call boxing, "Western Kung Fu" becasue they use kung fu the way we use martial arts).
Blade u know it's called martial "arts" right? Can't u respect wushu as an art? So what if it's not meant for actual combat it's still a very beautiful expression of the chinese people and is based on traditional combative kung fu.

More kung fu dancing. Good job degenerating kung fu into gymnastics.

wushu is more proficient in weapons and overall body endurance. they probably have more endurance than what kung fu schools have taught me
