  • rofl when u chucked the cheese nice vid

  • Your right it's really wasn't steam but it was definitely water vapor showing up because of the cold. (The same way you can see your breath in the cold) After all It was about 5 degrees that day. I have gone through a dozen of these things and they don't tend "smoke". Thanks for flammability tip ill have to try and light one of these things to see what happens. :-D

  • I deal with these MREs and ration heaters all the time in the military, you should be aware that that is NOT steam coming out, the water does not boil, it is part of the exothermic reaction of the water and the heating pellets inside and is a chemical release and it is flammable so don't let it get near open flame.

  • straight to the point and no bulls.... lol ha good video !!

  • awesome video man!

  • @m16police Thanks man.. just don't shoot me with your 40 cal :-D

  • @thunderbombman haha of course not! I just ordered some mre's 2 days ago, I cant wait!

  • i believe that is the civilian version of the MRE.

  • @iShemagh Your right it is. There are a few differences between the two.. do a quick search for "civilan vs military mre" and you will see what they are. In short, I like this brand (Sure-Pak) because they are inexpensive and you can take them on an airplanes. As far as the food goes they are 100% the same.. just not 100% the same amount per packet.

  • the main thing i do different is when i'm heating up the entree, i don't put it right into the heating bag. i slip it into the box next to it, the way you do with the fig bars. i don't want that nasty water accidently dripping into my meal pouch when i tear / cut it open. i know you could wipe the pouch off when you take it out, but still, blah. and i cut the entree package open lengthwise. less spoon digging than from the top. and don't eat the whole thing in one sitting. lump in the gut is bad

  • cool vid, but can you set up camp anywhere along the trail or do you have to camp at designated areas?

  • @chitown1966 You are supposed to camp at the shelters or up to 50M away from one.

  • @thunderbombman and how far and few in between are shelters? just curious. Thanks

  • @chitown1966 a decent walk. but you will probably have to look a guide for a better answer. There are a lot of them.

  • @thunderbombman thanks

  • way too much trash to pack out.

  • @tinywentz I agree.

  • lol, I've always wondered why people carry those huge knifes with them into woods - now I know :)

  • Cheese which i hate (He throws the cheese behind him) Lol

  • Regualr clorox bleach should be used for drinking water b/c it's the only filtered bleach. Store brand bleach can be used for non drinking water. If you know wild edibles and natural medicine that is money in ur pocket! Plastic plates/cups produces a lot of trash quickly that can not be burned. Knowledge is power and I believe to be the best bartering tool! It will take a joined effort to make it through this gov created mess, no one person can know or do everything! Good luck! Mrs.NAN

  • Clorox Bleach?... I'd rather bring water.. It's wayyy cheaper!

  • @thunderbombman Its 8 drops of clorox bleach per 5 gallons of water. If u are using fresh water for ur water source adding the right amount of bleach will kill the bacteria causing Beaver Fever which is in all the waters of the USA. Bringing ur own water is cheaper but what if u run out of water? A 2oz leak proof bottle of bleach doesn't weigh a lot. Using ur shirt to filter out large objects out of the water and the correct amount of bleach will give u more drinking water in the wilderness.

  • @MrsNewAmericaNow I just thought you wanted me to drink bleach. I thought to myself, "my video wasn't that bad" .. but now I know.... and knowing is half the battle. Thanks for the tip.

  • @thunderbombman I realized I didn't explain it well enough when u left the comment. With youtube limiting ur word count, I try to squeeze as much into one comment and expect people to understand.

  • Its 8 drops of clorox bleach per 5 gallons of water to purify the water for drinking.

  • u can bye the meals u dnt have to buy cases.... i think it to much money and i dont eat half of the stuff only chicken and beef

  • You're hilarious! Loved the video :-)
