  • Good stuff. Why don't people get this? The're gettin' screwed left and right and loving it!!

  • I have no idea why you guys left out the tricky signs like the small print to confuse you and the cameras and on and on just read the small print and do not assume it is safe to park anywhere you will be ticketed .

  • This is happening in Canada as well

  • They did this in my area. Better not get caught speeding! The worst part is, a lot of people are completely unaware of these changes. Uh oh. I hope they don't find out I complained. That's a $50 fine!

  • One word...one solution...marijuana.

    Solves everything.

  • These fucking things are just taxes on the poor. Bottom line.

  • Wake the fuck up conservitards, it ain't fun no more, you're fucking up the country, & therefore, the world. I wish I could envision a future in which the west doesn't go down shit river, but without a series of awesome scientific progresses, I don't see that happening. All I see is SHIT.

  • @MyTemporaryAccount88 Their entire governing philosophy is to hold a gun to americas head to get more tax cuts for rich people, more breaks for big businesses, more pardons for corporate crime, more favors for their political benefactors and to fuck the working man, lowering their wages and gutting their benefits so they have to pay less on silly things like "employee paychecks"

  • This is the argument against tax cuts that us social democrats and other leftists have been trying to push for in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the rest of Europe - you pay a little less in taxes but end up paying more of your income in fees because of higher rents, higher prices(electricity, gas, food, public transport, pharmaceuticals etc - things which have/are been/being deregulated and privatized in Europe) and your social services are gutted.

  • @atosafi1 Yeah it's a tragedy that the corrupting forces have been so successful Europe's on the same route as the US. That the UK would go down shitstream isn't a surprise, but I'm starting to doubt even Scandinavia has a chance.

  • I might as well be paying higher taxes with these fee hikes.

  • Why is there so much rejection of the idea of class warfare in the U.S.? Class warfare is common sense. It always has existed.

  • Another score to the U.S way to medieval era policies.

  • This sounds so much like Henry VIII it's unbelievable...

  • It's ironic that so many politicians legislate based on the reelection. If I were a politician, I would vote for the right thing to do. Even if I don't get reelected, I can still say I did the right thing. That's what running for office is all about, right? What's the point of being in office if you're going to do the wrong thing?

  • @53prime Because it gives you cushy connections that get you millions after you retire. Jobs that pay millions. And lots of perks like private jet rides and cool houses. Who cares about the common shits when you can bank an extra cool 20k to spend on your next elections for dumping raw sewage in their backyard. You can spend it on fancy parties and deceptive tv ads. It's a private club, and we're not invited.

  • @rasperfat well.. clearly that's what happens.

  • Shoot them all and let god throw them to the devil.

  • @DakkonDS That would be waste of money on ammo The Devil is likely to toss them back at us Afraid they will take over the rule of hell from him.

  • Keith Olbermann and Cenk Ugyur talk about fighting back, but I don't understand the objective/goal. I hear lots of Rosa Parks examples, but that fight was easy because we have alternatives to bus riding. How do we fight? For example, if we’re mad about bank bailouts do we withdraw all our money out of banks permanently? If were mad about price tax hikes on Consumer goods do we stop buying? How will we survive? If were mad about war, do we protest at US recruitment centers? What’s the plan?

  • Ana I got news for you....London not only has parking meters 'EVERYWHERE', but we also have a 'congestion zone' within central London & you have to pay 'BEFORE YOU CAN DRIVE INTO IT' but the real kicker is that once you have paid to enter the 'zone' ....you have to pay again for parking!

If you ever visit London...Best to take a taxi or ride the 'Tube'!

  • @12235117657598502586 Yes, we all know not to drive in big cities, but she's talking about suburban places like the Valley in California where there is so much space; that's ridiculous.

  • @rvggarcon - Well that's bad, but what starts in the cities usually ends up happening all over the country too!

Even here in the UK the authorities are trying to expand the 'zoning' system & backed up with speed camera's & meters too!

The motorist is just a 'Money Tree' to the authorities (& boy, are they shaking that tree)!

  • I just had a brilliant idea how about we put the meeters in high end stores only. like "Sakes fith Avenue" and charge them $2.50 and hour since they can afford to spend $600.00 on a pair of shoes. they afford to pay for parking, again i'm the Rich's Worst Nightmare....!

  • the funny thing is that Cenk is twice as animated as Ana most times, but calls her on her expressiveness at every turn

  • anna drops some bows

  • It's ain't a tax cut, it's a tax SHIFT!

  • @gj804 well said.

  • Press 4

  • 1:29 ftw!

  • WHEN OUR JOBS GO TO CHINA AND TAX BASE IS DESTROYED--WHAT IS LEFT !!!

  • looking good ana yumyum

  • The most stupid thing to do in a recession is cut of the majority's ability to consume more.

The U.S Empire is built on a capitalist consumer economy, is it not?

How the fuck are they going to increase demand for anything when half their lowered wages are going to pay for electricity and police corruption?

    .

The income disparity will increase until there is a modern version of France before the 1789 revolution.

    .

I don't have anything against the U.S Empire disbanding but wtf.

  • she said PUSSIES!

  • They should just block the roads, and fine people who are stuck in a traffic.

  • It's a fact, grocery and convience stores in affluent areas have lower prices than stores in poor neighborhoods.

  • America is fucked. This is barely news.

  • well deserved america

  • TYT exacerbates and perpetuates class warfare by making these arguments. The fact is, personal tax systems in most, if not all, Western societies are progressive. That's why there's different tax brackets.

On a personal level, a lot of well to do people I know accept paying high taxes as way of paying back to a society that has benefitted them. I also know of "poor" individuals who try to screw the welfare system as much as they can. So enough of this generalization of "Rich Assholes"

  • @hofifut Oh surrre there's no class war, it's not like we're having assholes trying to gut social security, medicare and medicaid to fund MORE TAX CUTS!

Sure, there's no such thing as class war...just like there's no such thing as wall street fraud.

  • @dffykvn

Go on, keep making the same blanket statements and perpertuate the same stereotypes. That's exactly my point about you "proud" libs... and the idiots on the far right for that matter.

The assholes you're referring to who want to cut social spending aren't all rich. Some are poor, uneducated people as well who have bought into the conservative movement advocating less gov't. Likewise, there's many well off, compassionate people.

So enough of your fake rhetoric. Boring...

  • @hofifut Yes, they're useful tools to further consolidate the wealth.

  • @hofifut Funny how the "rich" know so many people who are screwing the welfare system, which by the way ended when Clinton changed it to WorkFare. Emphasis put on WORK. So you guys are going to have to cross that off the chalkboard. No more life time "welfare queens". So why would a outstanding person like yourself be in the company of people who cheat the government?

  • @hofifut Well if your well off and accept paying higher taxes to pay back the society you benefited from then, this really isn't about you or your well to do friends. That is unless your a millionaire/billionaire and taking advantage of every loophole created by a bought politician. If i was successful and well off, i would gladly pay my share - so, no one is jealous of your money, no one wants you to "share your wealth" this doesn't apply to you.

  • in co it cost 240,000 dollars to maintain and run a police patrol car.

  • Fuckers are giving tickets for going over my 5mph!!!!!

  • Parking ticket in San Francisco is $60. And you'd damn better get to your car before the time runs out because they are ON IT!

They clear each side of my street for street cleaning once a week. Meter Maids go up and down giving tickets to anyone who doesn't move their car.

They DO NOT clean each side of the street once a week.

    It's a RACKET.

    COMPLETE BULLSHIT.

  • they're not running out of money because taxes isn't high enough, they're low on money because they waste most of it, and spend the rest poorly.

  • "More for parking ticket" fine, I blow up my car... "Paying more to enter a public beach": wait, what? That's a public beach, right? Son of a beach! I'm not going to a beach in California... Look, libtard: they are raising taxes anyway, just "hided". I prefer paying more taxes on my income, seeing it, than paying more fees, ending up with the same fucking money at the end of the month - worst, since it's hided and goes in "consumption", not in the marginal propensity to spent.

  • "american 'EMPIRE.'" WHY!?

  • Does anyone know when they update with their youtube channel with their new videos? I can't watch the live show, but I am waiting on pins and needles to hear Cenk's view on what happened today.

  • @loveofphysics How about you giving us your view before we hear Cenk's view. You can think without Cenk whispering in your ear can't you ?

  • I don't want to hear any of you complaining about the rich not paying there fair share, because in 2010 all of you voted for all of these conservative assholes. And now that you can feel them fucking you in the ass without petroleum jelly you want to complain.

  • Organized Crime. Government. Same shit.

  • I wish they would talk about the bullshit they did with car registrations where they don't send your renewal until the day your shit is due.

  • $10 says you'll never find a parking meter anywhere in a rich neighborhood

  • @trier4952 Don't think you can leave your crappy looking car hanging around very long though, it'll get towed away so fast for being unsightly.

  • @DeJach I wouldn't doubt it.

  • I wish you'd get fined for stupidity. The revenue from repubs would pay off the debt.

  • Eat the rich.

  • Word up Kaspar the friendly host!

  • I wish these bitter old Right-wing nutjobs would just die already!

  • Fees effect the poor. Taxes effect the rich. Guess what we raise?

Cops focus more on tickets? sounds like the UK to me lol

  • MAN YOU DESERVED THIS SHIT SORRY BUT YOU AMERICANS ARE JUST BEING COWARDS WHEN YOU ARE INFRONT OF COMPUTERS YOU CRITICIZE EVERYTHING.BUT WHEN IT COMES TO ACTION YOU RUN FOR THE HILLS AND BOW YOUR HEADS TO YOUR MASTERS.NOW YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS 1 YOU UNITE AND PROTEST AGAINST GOVERNMENT EFFECTIVELY AND SHOW THAT YOU ARE THE VOTERS NOT THE COOPERATIONS OR YOU SIT ON YOUR ASSES AND JUST CRITICIZE THE GOVERNMENT INFORT OF YOUR PCS WHILE YOU ARE EATING CHIPS!!UNITE!!A TURKISH WILL GLADLY HELP U=)

  • @okyay23: Your offer of help is greatly appreciated, but I'm afraid we could use it far more than you know. The enemies of the common people have half our population convinced that they're not the enemy. So while it's nice of you to shout at us from your computer to do something about it, half of us are sheep, a quarter of us are too busy just trying to survive to care, and the rest of us are too few to make much of a difference. You are witnessing the crumbling of the American Empire.

  • @Celephaith so what is your solution just let them get away with it just witness it and do nothing if i were american and know what was going on i would definitely join a political group or a similar foundation to change things i know i wouldnt reach to everyone but i would reach to some people and it will have an effect .what i admire about german people is that when they focus on something they do it.If you have this attitude saying no one cares so just ingore it so you deserve to be robbed

  • @okyay23: No of course that's not the solution. It's just frustrating, because it seems like everything we do is for naught. And you're wrong about us. Bitching in front of a computer screen is only part of what we do! We vote, we write our congressmen, we protest, we contribute what little money we can to causes that we believe in. The problem is that the other side does all that shit too. They have been duped into going against their own best interests, and it will be the end of us.

  • @Celephaith Just to clarify who exactly is convincing us they are not the enemy?

  • @okyay23 You are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo right!!

  • Exactly right on the middle class and poor paying a higher percentage, and tickets and such affecting them much harder. Also, a poor person is more likely to not be able to pay something on time, and will then be charged even more. The effect is that, in the US, you're punished for being poor.

  • California has pleanty of taxes it is not a revenue problem we have a spending problem.

  • Fees and fines = tax on use and being stupid, better than being taxed just to exist.

  • @Atheistprimate humans are fundamentally stupid, so being taxed just to exist is basically the same as being taxed for stupidity.

  • I'm going to send my governor a bottle of lub with a note:

"Next time, please at least use this before you FUCK ME"

  • Traffic fines = Voluntary road tax!

  • I'm so glad you did a segment on this. It's a huge pet peeve of mine and most people seem to be oblivious to it. I won't vote for any sales tax increase, fee increase, or anything of the sort. The bridge tolls have gone way up, too, and discounts for commuting have dropped.

It's not only a huge tax increase on the middle class and poor, it's locking people out from visiting places and using roads that they have already paid for with their taxes. It's criminal, in my view.

  • Same with low wages. We end up paying medicaid , section 8 etc of the Walmart Employees...so those low wages cost us A LOT of money.

  • Oh Capitalistic America.

    How well you treat us....

  • 1:28 Ana released the Kraken!

  • Kitty got her claws out on this one!

  • This might seem alarmist, but it looks like America is going to hell after all. The ONLY reason to increase fees should be to create a larger disincentive for people to break laws. This is a disturbing trend going against the separation of powers and the functions of the different branches of government. Law enforcers should not function as tax-collectors for the same reasons that the police should not be financed by fines.

  • I guess cutting spending is out of the question... oh wait, liberals would never consider that.

  • @megagagnon1 No longer such a thing as a liberal.

  • @megagagnon1

I would consider cutting spending for the red states that are net beneficiaries of liberal generosity in blue states. I would then favor using the savings to actually build FEMA camps and load people like you into them. I'll personally show you the showers.

  • @megagagnon1 Do you even know what a "liberal" is? Go on. Explain it in your own words.

  • @megagagnon1 Oh really is that why the Government is only cutting spending and not increasing taxes?

  • @visini14 Maybe there's been a little of that cutting of spending on the local and state level, but there's still no sign of it on the federal level.

  • @megagagnon1 I am talking about the debt ceiling deal. It is 100% spending cuts, and not tax raises.

  • @visini14 Neither plan had spending cuts. The "savings" they were talking about were from projected increases in the budget. The federal government spent $3.8 in 2011 (that's what it will end up being) - if you proposed freezing the federal budget at that level for the next ten years, that would be far more draconian than any plan presented by the repubs or dems.

  • @megagagnon1 I am pretty sure that I didn't say anything about spending freeze, I said that it should be a balanced deal, spending cuts and tax raises for the rich. The plans that were proposed weren't liked by either party, because in the Republicans wanted more, and the Democrats want Tax increase, yet they settled on a plan that gave Republicans what they wanted and Democrats nothing.

  • @visini14 Obama got what he wanted - a bigger budget for 2012. That's the only budget he really cares about.

  • @megagagnon1 I don't care what he wants. He said that he would only allow a balanced plan, and that isn't what we got. We got a republican plan that wont help at all. What a shocker.

  • @visini14 What? You're not feeling all hopey changey?

  • @megagagnon1 What?

  • I keep hearing the stat the bottom 51% pay no taxes. How much should they pay. Someone write a bill and set an amount for them to pay. Also they say people getting checks for entitlements need to pay taxes on it. Just cut what they get that amount. That would be easier. See how voters like that

  • Every time I watch the Young Turks I take a swig of Disoronno. IT seems to work out really well for me.

  • It's not "you pay more; the rich pay less". It's "everyone using the meter or beach pays more; the rich have more to begin with". But I don't see why they don't just raise some taxes. Everyone needs to make a sacrifice right now.

  • I wouldn't want to pay taxes, but if ever there was a scenario that would make me LOVE higher taxes... it's the US in its current condition...... 2 decade long wars, funding sucked dry... increase taxes? no, cut spending on social welfare and use that money to keep the war going.... and even individual states are not raising taxes and instead just making asses of themselves....

US sucks..... but hey, thanks for making me see the bright side of high taxes!

  • Love Ana's purple 'toga'...

Bob McConnell, governor of VA, once mentioned that 'fees are not taxes'.

    I don't know if I agree...

  • TAX THE CHURCH!!!!!

  • Oh god, how much more can Cenk salivate when he talks about 'rich' and the taxes they are supposedly not paying, when in fact they are paying majority of the taxes in USA. The 'rich' have been stuck financing over 80% of the tax bill in USA.

Anyway, anybody who is rich in California? What, they don't drive? Give me a break.

  • @romanmir01 The rich haven't paid "their share" since the 60s and 70s, your formula that the top 1-10% pay more than the other 90-99% is flawed. By percentage, a millionaire pays around the same percentage as someone making a working-class wage. I suppose you would also tell me that the flat tax would be fair. You just don't fucking get it. It's those rich people that have influenced and taken control of government and got it to back and insure their failures. Fuck you and your logic.

  • @TheUSMetalhead I am not going to tell you anything, I don't give a shit about your ideology, it's failing the country right now.

  • @romanmir01 K, well you're dumb as a fucking bag of hammers. Anyone else have anything as stupid as your ideas floating out there? I'd hate to miss an easy target.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal Yeah, the easiest target is your own head, if you hold a handgun close enough, you won't miss.

  • @romanmir01 Uh-hyuk, genuine comedy gold, Jethro.

  • This is more shifting to give tax handout to the rich.

  • Its called toll-booth capitalism, its a shakedown.

  • I got two speeding tickets in the last week, both for 75 in a 65 :(

    They cost $120 each...

  • sound like a win win situation to me!

  • Long time ago the king send the solider to your house to take out your chickens, caws, lamb...whatever you have to pay the tax. now we have much smart king. they give you the illusion of democracy. from you salary the is taking 20 to 35%, and more tax for each little thing that you consume, watch, use, touch, swallow.. and the government thinks this is not enough and create laws to take more of you. We will find our-self in one situation that we will have to work for dont go to jail.

  • Fines and fees are, at best, a flat tax, as Cenk said.

But it's worse than that becuase the rich have (or are) lawyers, and the cops know that, which is why most cops won't even bother pulling over a bentley or ferarri most of the time and when they do they're far more likely to just give a warning.

  • We should be on a flat tax. Everyone should pay the same percentage of their income in taxes. By the nature of percentages, rich individuals and corporations would pay more, and suddenly, things would be fair, or at least a step in the direction of fairness.

  • @Mitsuraga The rich would pay more by the nature of percentages than the poor, but less than they do now. The poor would pay a lot more than they do now, the middle class would at best stay the same or pay more. Great! Bill Gates gets millions in tax cuts, the middle class get nothing, the poor get screwed. Progressive is the only way to tax. The rich pay more than just 'their percentage' because they can AFFORD to, or an 'unfair' rate. It works in other nations not struggling like we are here.

  • Is ana in a ball gown?

  • "They are focusing more on writing tickets then fighting real crime"

    No shit, really?

  • Money just comes...then *poof* gone.

  • Is Ana wearing a Toga?

  • My wife got me a T-shirt the over the weekend. It reads, "I don't need sex, the government #$%*s me everyday."

    I was like, "right on!"

  • the poor don't need to drive in such ways that break the laws! This is not limited to the US, Canada is going all out with user fees, red light cameras, speeding caught by red light cameras, selling entire highways to foreign investors, tolls everwhere, increased fees for every service. there is talk about parking meters in front of residential homes. planners are talking about sensors on cars and on streets catching violations and debiting motorist accounts instantly, objecting later. haha

  • Time for a new market on stolen parking meters. Everybody should carry a battery powered cutoff saw in their trunk.

  • @audadvnc ... You are kidding right? You pay with your credit card if they install new parking meters. Thats what we are doing in Sweden atleast...

  • @kassbest Do those credit card parking meters have an option to take in coin money? Many people do not have credit cards so how would they put money into them?

  • FUCC ALL POLITICIANS

  • FUCC ALL POLITICIANS

  • good thing i dont have a car. or buy anything.

it seem like raising money through fees, tickets, and sales tax also discourages people from traveling and spending money, which is the opposite of what you are trying to do.

  • 1:10 made me lol

  • This, added to cops not giving tickets to rich people to begin with.

  • What the fuck is the difference? They either steal it from you by raising taxes or tax you to death with fines and fees. The cocksuckers get you one way or another.

  • Fines as a percentage of income. Perfect. Problem solved.

  • @stevenweir76 - Even better, an asset tax: Tax as a percentage of ownership.

  • @stevenweir76 so cops are now a new version of tax collectors?...sweet oh wait...but I knew that though...

  • Lower taxes and no taxes on giant corporations. A de-regulation of Wall Street, banks and credit card companies. A ridiculous housing market. Bank foreclosures- buy a house for $16! Historical layoffs and outsourcing to foreign manufacturers all to make short term gains for rich CEOs. Bail out Wall street while they gamble away people's life's savings and 401ks. Dump treasury into pointless war in Iraq. And here we are, the good ol US of Dumbass. But lets blame homosexuals and porn! Ha.

  • Yeah they also raise sales taxes too.

That we won't raise taxes bullshits only appeals to the uneducated tea party hicks.

  • @Bander1 Thats what happens when you cut education for too long. Itll look like idiocracy within a 100 years. Im actually surprised that you guys are still not watering crops with Gatorade.

  • @tommysch

well we are already well on the way to be an idiocracy, when a high school graduate cannot read or write, there is really something wrong here.

  • Bernie Sanders 2012!

  • hahahah "these politicians are such pussies" Lol

    Ana is going hard!

  • the biggest sap on the federal budget isn't Social Security or Medicare (which both still take in a ton more money than they pay out), but the Military Industrial Complex (both the actual armed forces, and the defense contractors who are 100% subsidized to build our weapons, jets, tanks, etc). We could fix our whole situation by just pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • That's what the tea party is fighting for, to make themselves pay more in taxes and get less in services to benefit the rich and the corporations.

  • California is the most bankrupt state in the union. They HAVE to cut back on their spending. Maybe if they just CUT back on their spending and spend it within their means they would not have to do this.

  • @acdc30450

due to the way they set up their govt, someone needs to convince the voters of that. most of the money spent is based on calculations and can only be changed by a state-wide general referendum. while that ensures that a governor can't, say, slash education funding, it's also like turning the Titanic when the iceberg is sighted :(

while being the most bankrupt, they are also have the highest GDP.

the real trick is to cut spending WITHOUT tax "relief" for the wealthy.

  • @dreamcoyote It is not so much how much you cut it is where you cut. In a liberal state such as California, there has to be some program that serves little use to cut. California spends the most on education but their near the bottom when it comes to test scores.

One place to start is the perks that state politicians enjoy

  • @acdc30450 What's your point? Do you have an alternative? Are you suggesting that that we pull out every student from preschool through college until the schools collectively as whole come up with a plan to address the high percentage of low test scores and questionable skilled graduates that can't find work?

  • @sholmesful As a matter of fact I do have an alternative. 1. Fund Voucher programs and Charter schools in high needs are so the most vulnerable kids can get out of failing schools. 2. If you do not achieve a mark of at least 50 %, you fail that course and have to re take it in summer school. 3. Re introduce gender segregated border school style schools with uniforms. 4. If a student comes to school with a gun or a bag of coke, than they lose their "right" to an education. 5/ The three R's.

  • The flaws that I found in Voucher programs/charter schools are that in some cases public school even out with private schools in test scores. Private schools beat public schools if culture and race aren't included in the comparisons. Also, what happens when students are disproportionally displaced in private schools to the point where private schools can no longer be compared to public schools to measure student successes?

  • @sholmesful If voucher programs and charter schools don't work, than why do hundreds of parents in high needs are try to get their kids in them. Poor kids, mainly black and latino go to a majority white and asian private school in a suburban area, which are better than the public schools in a inner city. Parents spend thousands of dollars for private schools, so the school has an incentive to give parents the result they want for their kids.

  • @acdc30450 Your question is too broad to answer. Some parents send their children to private schools because of the point you're trying to make, other parents send their children to private school for religious reasons, and the list goes on and on. My main point is that focusing on only a few schools for children is only a temporary solution that would benefit private companies and a few children. The goal should be to make all schools work right all the time; not some schools sometimes.

  • @sholmesful In a perfect world, I would want every school in America to be a mini harvard, but that is unrealistic for the near future. I agree with you that every school and post secondary education should be to equip students with the knowledge and experience they need to carry the torch. But we should still fund charter schools and voucher programs until public education is greatly improved and not just in terms of funds. The ciriculum needs to change as well.

  • Your first statement, mocking me as "unrealistic", is exactly why I can't fully back your idea. Your plan seems to be okay with some children not making it as long as a few succeed. It seems as though you’re looking at education as a war in which its okay if a few soldiers die (i.e. children who slip through the education gaps) so long as the mission is accomplished. In my view children aren't soldiers/adult, and it’s not okay if a few slip through the gaps. Children are the cure!

  • @sholmesful My plan will give the smart and dedicated children a chance. Your plan tries to get every one to a utopia in one go, which is just not possible. The children who are in dire need of help but have the best odds should be at the top of the list for our help. Every child deserves a good chance in school, but no matter what you do, you can not gaurantee that every child will get good grades and sucseed, that is up to them. There is only so much we can do, they have to make it themselves.

  • Religiously speaking, I think your approach is morally wrong. You want to play God by deciding whose smart enough to teach, and whose dumb enough not to teach. Also, there are debates among experts on testing. Some believe that our ability to test schools needs improving. Unless you're willing to solve the "problem" for every student, you will always come back to this issue. Lastly, every child that falls through the gaps is a possible loss to a cure for our problems.

  • @sholmesful Buddy, it is a known fact that some people have a higher intelligence than others. How do you think the words genious and moron came into existance. We can only do so much for the kids. They have to make it on their own. We can not just baby them in life. Granted people with the talent and inititive some times fall through the cracks, but that does not let them give up on their dreams. We have the right to the pursuit of happiness, not assurance.

  • Comment removed

  • @acdc30450 Lets talk about that crack, since you agree that your idea to fix the problem is only a temporary solution that will only help some children. The result of that crack will be children falling into drugs, gangs, and violent deaths. Typically, the first culture in this country to always get affected by a decision like this in a negative way are African-Americans. After 500 years of climbing out of slavery, your suggestion might put them back into it. Check out the USBlS stats.

  • @sholmesful We should fix the entire education system, but that could take billions of dollars and a long time. My solution gives the best and brightest children from under privelaged back ground to climb out of their situation and gives them a shot at a better life, so they don't have to depend on some government beuracracy. African American's will be a huge benificary to this solution. More of their talented youths will get the oppurtunity that they deserve.
