  • love the video man

  • you have some great stuff here

  • between chemtrails, haarp, and the gov. they'll block you out if you don't pay SUN TAX!

  • This is totally Cool stuff!

  • @LoveMyDogy There is novideo at this moment and the article about the new solar wire is Dutch though im trying to find one in english.

The wire is stil in development ( they want to make it even more efficient) but as soon as i find a article or video i let you know :)

If you're dutch:it was an article in the : wetenschap in beeld

  • is this recorded with a pencil ? because it sure looks like it.

  • I have manual to build a panel at home for 100 buck - if anyone need, it's here

  • if i'm not mistaking, this factory still exists in san diego, but you cannot find their products anywhere in the us. the electric company is probably buying all their cells.

  • a video from 2007 and look at all the progress so far. every home has a solar panel! they're so cheap! (lol)

  • So where can we buy their much cheaper solar panels?

  • You mentioned getting energy without pollution. This is not an accurate statement. We get heat pollution from using solar panels. There is always a dark material used when creating solar panels. The radiates heat back adding to our ozone problems.

  • @senicaslife thats not true anymore. solar cells have not been made with that material in years. why? because they used that material to make them non reflective. they figured out that solar cells already have that property and stop using it as soon as they found that out. that is one reason why the price of solar cells have dropped.

  • Solar is good but there seems to be an easier solution. If you are interested in the cutting edge of new energies, search for star scientific limited. Look for the video in the footsteps of fusion. If you already know a little bit about alternative energy skip ahead to 10 min 30 seconds. Looks like this could be the future.

  • Solar panels are commercial bullshit. There are solar concentrators that heat up water and use it as a generator propelant and they have up to 10 times more power for the same surface area and cost!

  • @Beef1188

and nuclear has about 1 billion times the output of solar with virtually no waste(relative to it's power output) and is one of the most safest. You would think environmentalist would jump all over nuclear but they are against it only because they look at the negatives(in which case it will always be bad).

Solar cells are actually quite polluting when you take into account all the energy required to use them(usually from coal) vs how much power they output(very little).

  • @AbstractDissonance

Glad to see someone sharing my opinion. Technologies like solar concentrators such as the one in spain are the future, not this commercial "oompa loompa".

Simply put a few mirrors to shine on a boiler and use the steam to drive a turbine then put it through a condenser so that you can return the water back to the boiler.

This is the super-efficent real zero-waste system. Although nuclear is good, this is ultra cool! :)

  • @AbstractDissonance Currently Solar power isnt effective, but in the near future it will be able to provide earth with 100% of its energy needs. That also inclueds if every car was electric. Enough solar energy hit this planet everyday to provide for the entire earths power for a year. The next gen solar cells will be able to absorb gamma and UV light. So even if its cloudy you'll still get power. What we really need is investments in new ways to store all that power

  • i fell sory for those that bought de older panel with a hight price

  • Hello, Ill teach you how you could earn some money protecting links and youtube. Find some royalty free music, backgrounds or sounds. Upload all the stuff somewhere. Then sign up with bee4biz (Just Google it) and use them to protect your download link. Make videos showcasing your free download and post protected download link in video description. bee4biz will pay you when people complete a survey to unlock your download link. They pay well and they pay weekly.

  • Home solar power (both from photovoltaic cells and from house design) is rather popular in Seattle and electric power providers buy any excess electricity generated.

  • University Link? Peer reviewed article link would be helpful?

  • what's the website of the manufacturer?

  • THEY GOT EVEN BETTER NOW!

a universety has invented a fibre material which absorbs the light and then transport the light lime fibre glass.

    thesew solar panels are :

    CHEAPER to make.

    Flexible tough and durable.

    Nearly inviseble from a distance.

produce 6 times more energy then conventional solar panels.

they are not on the market yet but i CANT WAIT

  • @wormsmaster1994 You want to link any details, or....

  • @Miketar2424

    abc.net.au/science/articles/2009/11/10/2738182 .htm

  • google up the availability of indium. my guess is thats not a future technology - more like an intermediate. but who cares.

  • I've called them 2x in the last 2 years. Nano Solar does not sell retail, only commercial and industrial. This don't make sense, because if it is cheaper as claimed then they could own the retail market (a solar revolution), but they choose not to.

  • @EndTheFedRes *coughcough* *google is one of their biggest investers cough*

  • @EndTheFedRes *coughcough* *google is one of their biggest investers cough*

  • new technoology always cost alot at first, becuase of research and product development, sometimes polotics and govnment get in the way to keep someone honest or keep people safe. I remember when a VCR was $800 now you can get one for $5.99 at a thrift store. the difference the VCR allowed you to record your favorite TV shows and solar power will allow you to save money. Supply and demmand - if everyone in america decided we want it tommorrow and would pay for it, the price would go down.

  • @snyderlampone not initially, the supply would be too low driving the prices up until they can setup more manufacturing plants or expand their existing manufacturing plants.

  • @snyderlampone My first VCR (Phillips VR2000) was over a grand when bought - double sided tapes, video cam ports, digital controls, 1 yr 7 event prog and superior image quality - but VHS still won the war! (Betamax also better quality lost too) battles are won on insider (between companies) deals and in the media - lets hope these guys get that and get the +ve word out there (few go to solar because ROI is slow/low). If Sinclair had sold the C5's better we would all have electric cars today!

  • @snyderlampone I think you have your supply and demand a little backwards. The more people that want an object the more the demand and the higher the price. If everyone in America decided they wanted solar power tomorrow the price would sky rocket.

  • @snyderlampone "If you increase the demand, the price would go down" That's not how economy works.

  • What is there website ?

  • @HonKyTanKMaN it is nanosolar/com

  • @HouseOfStrength Nothing for sale on the website, I guess their looking for big investors right now...

  • Why don't these products ever seem to make it to market at the promised savings? Does the market drive the price up? When Walmart starts selling these things then we'll know they've arrived.

  • There are a lot of nuts commenting here who are incredibly uneducated and cant seem to find time to read up on science but find time to listen to right wing idiots or conspiracy theories.

Solar is here and it works folks. Its advanced to the point you can carry a small foldable solar array in a backpack to charge up your laptop while camping. It isnt ultracheap and wont be for a bit, wind is better. But solar is great for a lot of things.

  • nice camera, where'd you get yours?

  • The Illuminati and masons are blocking the cheap technology that's here for a long time.Of course just a paranoid conspiracy theory (although the inventor was informed about the blocking himself). I know about a technology developped completely that uses only 1/10 of solar cells, uses prism mirrors, adds a heat converter that uses the heat given out from the cells, too. But where would we come, if Satanist Rockefeller and hisworldwide puppets did stop their exploitation of people?

  • I think more than one company wants to reduce their costs but not pass that on to the customer so we get cheaper electricy.

I don't see solar cells dropping in cost anywhere ... all these things sound great, but like electric cars or LED lightbulbs the costs to save energy will not help anyone because the price is so high no one can afford them.

I think either they get with the program, or the government should threaten to nationalize them.

  • Never ever happen....Nanosolar has been at this for years now with no results except providing for energy companies and large scale industrial..imagine that? Public service commission will make damn certain that this company will never sell these panels for 1/10th of current panels. Where would the incentive for staying with your local "Extension Cord" Company? And then where would the PSC and that company be?

  • Copper, indium, gallium, and selenium... Hmmm, is there enough to cover tens of thousands of square miles, or even hundreds of thousands for a solar powered world? Might be best just to automate every step possible of the tried and true silicon PV cells. China is now doing that...

  • Technology is ever changing. You can make your own panels for very cheap. This looks like a commercial plug for a corporate company. You'll probably have good luck with selling them to big business.

  • Thank you for the excellent video and also the patience required to explain simply business models in your description. Personally I wouldn't listen to any of the incredibly dense comments and only pay attention to those people who can demonstrate they have at least a few working brain cells in their noggin.

  • @HeavyMechanics Thank you for the advice; )

  • What poor people in the world are going to break their backs and lives mining this stuff? Going green to save the world or going green to ruin it some more?

  • @catrol It's a good possibility that in the future you won't need to mine resources, they will be assembled out of something like quantum dots. Point is that research into new technologies and materials makes sense even when it doesn't seem immediately viable for mass usage.

  • So THIN, that the dust and molds would block most of the light in time ? You pressure wash your home and the Ciggs go out ? THINK MAINTENIANCE !

  • I saw this program on TV but u know this won't get to the public the oil and power utilities won't allow it..they'll be bought out before long and locked away

  • Weres the web page of the company?

  • I wonder how our government will tax us in the future after our energy freedom?

  • OK, make roofing shingles coated with this and have them plug into a plastic frame that can be screwed to a roof. Have inexpensive volt/current processers every few feet to eliminate shady spots from dragging the system down and produce optimum output. Crappy shingles with tar, fiberglass, and grit cost me $20k and do nothing but cook my attic. I would gladly pay more to produce power and insulate the roof from heat. Somebody hurry up and make some!

  • @kimmer6 I was speaking with a professor at my university about this recently.. those are already on the market. They are going to cost a little more but I think he said something like an 8 year pay back...

  • This shit is stupid, go make your own hot water heaters or air heaters and cut your energy costs that way.

  • what about health/environment hazard, are these materials safe for use?

if it will be used large scale i am sure a lot of this will end up in our environment, nano - can be cancerous.

  • China has announced it is getting into the biz.. Before you know it, you will be able to purchase these at your local Wal Mart.. hahaha Wal Mart... Well , I do not know f they will be sold there,, However, I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED if they sold them in the future

  • Just like with any industry, the better, the more money they want. I have no desire to believe this. Just like with digital information. IE:Internet. All it has done is go WAY up in price for cable and phones. When will we ever learn. This solor technology is for rich people, the people that need it the least, and it will always be that way. Also, they need CHEAP ass battery CELLS to store it with. Inverters and circuit boxes to integrate into home circuits. Its horrible expensive.

  • all this reminged me of was an inside joke from my 9th grade english class. phosphorous indium gallium sulfur. think about it.

  • @JohnnyRadiohead OK let us in on the joke, I'm stumped.

  • @astrialkil phosphorous = P, Indium = In, Gallium = Ga, Sulfur = S.

Put the symbols together, and its PINGAS

  • @JohnnyRadiohead OK I'm not only not getting it, I'm stumped, what is PINGAS?

  • When come to Brasil?

  • where can i oftain this kind of product are there availiable on the market already?

  • Solar cells shoved on "X-ray solar cell - baterie słoneczne" can have any shape because of method of production. Until now it works with x-rays but we are working for extending electromagnetic wavelength. Production of them is extremely cheap.

  • Solar cells shoved on "X-ray solar cell - baterie słoneczne" can have any shape because of method of production. Until now it works with x-rays but we are working for extending electromagnetic wavelength. Production of them is extremely cheap.

  • If they can be print it onto a water pipe sitting in a parabolic trough sunlight collector, water inside the pipe can cool off the solar cells and become preheated for water tanks while the solar cells generating electricity.

  • if it's so easy to make howcome nothing is for sale...

    assholes

I hate my law of smooth transitions. somehow no disrupting technology is ever allowed to come to pass. OLED has been known as long as LCD but they are still feeding us the crappy LCD when OLED is vastly better in every way. and this is so easy and cheap to make and they sell us bullshit lies that it takes time to scale production???

a super succesful business and they can't expand? yeah right

  • where is this ...its been out for 4 years..and you still cant find it

  • @clciphery - This Company caters to large power companies only. The power companies would like to keep us connected to the grid so they can keep draining our wallets. The oil companies want to keep us connected to the pipelines to do the same. T Boone Pickens would like for us to trade the oil pipeline for a gas pipeline (another pipeline). The oil and power companies are buying up any technology as fast as its released and the only way you and I are going to cut the cord, is to diy.

  • Organized Crime (AKA Oil companies and our own government) are buying all the companies that produce solar panels in order to charge hundreds of times the cost of production of these panels. They don't want us to have free energy, they want to make sure solar energy is never available to the public at prices that make sense. This is all a fraud. Wake-up America!

  • @williamxxx40 You're 100% right. And the other angle is:::::> They will TAX SUNLIGHT when it becomes popular. Sounds crazy? The Amoebaecans will accept that. just like everything else.

  • how are silicon wafers so expensive if silicon derived from sand is so abundant?

  • @monstercameron tey are ultra pure and the processing costs a lot of money!

  • @foonty #lol damn it.. i didnt see that comment.

  • @monstercameron ... the process to make it cost money.. (man, materials, research and investment) you answered your own question.

  • bored, why? 'cause

    (1) it's low quility

    (2) i know that already

    (3) it wasn't finished

  • I've looked up the website for nanosolar & they've been booked solid for over 5 yrs now! That's how popular it is! They simply can't keep up w/ the demand for their product! Plus, they're trying to keep up while expanding their warehouse! I hope the expansion will compensate and open the market up for them even more so we don't have to wait much longer!

  • We need a lot of solar cells in a shape like rod. If people add sunlight concentrator like flexible parabolic reflective mirrors to collect more sunlight, a rod can roll and turn constantly to cool off. Solar cells are expensive and flexible parabolic reflective mirrors can save a lot of solar cells if we adopt solar rod for evolution.

  • I'm not a left wing nut job or a right wing extremist, all I have to add is that for this technologies to advance faster we really need to stay out of their business and let them thrive, there are too many so called "experts" who will do anything they can to slow them down (oil industry?). Things don't happen overnight, lets give them a few more years and this will be a total hit. Imagine an entire city with solar panep roofs feeding back the grid. Now that's an idea. I really hope this guys

  • so thin that when you try to assemble them they break easily and its a pain in the ass. I have even had them break after i encase them in safety glass no lie. Its very difficult to make them I'm seriously thinking about buying a factory made one next time after six homemade panels.

  • What do you think about the "Costco" new Sunforce 246 Watt

Solar Power Back Up Kit with Sharp® Solar Modules

30 Amp Digital Charge Controller and 200 Watt Inverter

    Item # 253506 (retail price @ $1,399.99) ... is that good buy ???

  • this will be here sooner than you think

  • I've been wondering if solar panels could instead be solar cubes. I was thinking like sponges with tiny pores so that light is taken from every angle and it has a chance to bounce throughout the structure. I am no scientist, just curious. Thanks.

  • @Shalek well it would be nearly impossible to make one of those have all of their solar panels aligned. just like with magnetic domains it only works if their all the same.

  • @idfask I see, thanks for the reply.

  • @Shalek no problem :)

  • @idfask it's not impossible to refract or reflect light at multiple angles as suggested to direct at a source panel or area.

  • @stonerscolony well thank god for plausible deniability offered by the word nearly :)

but still it would be so much cheaper and easier to create flat solar panels (at least in the near future)

  • @idfask I agree

  • I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas....

  • Wait, ok, so they are saying that they able to take cheap as shit semiconductor material, maybe dope them to form a P-N junction, and then immediately connect that shit up?

  • @o00o0o0o0o0o because i can see myself maybe making this shit at home

  • Great!!!

  • That would be great to "paint" onto an electric car. You listening Nissan?

  • Ummm... I went to their website and they're showing photos of their factories... with no solar panels on the roof! that's fucking pathetic

  • @rush3734 The panels lay flat, you can't see them from their website images, but use google maps and you can clearly see them.

  • @rush3734 Tells you a lot when the a company wont use its own product. You would think they would use seconds and repaired damaged cells on their roof just as an advertisement. Also you would think they would sell power to the electric company so they would have reduced costs on all those Saturdays and Sundays. How bout selling power when the factory is not producing to pay the rent?

  • @rush3734 they have one on the backside where you can't see, its soo effective that it powers the whole building. jk

  • So how durable is this stuff. One of the main drawbacks of solar is that durable panels are expensive, and affordable ones are junk.

  • Well stop the talking about it and DO IT!!!!!

  • why was silicon so expensive though it's the one of the most common elements on earth

  • Very common, expensive to purify.

  • @pivotrocker8

    @pivotrocker8

I hear ya. It is like wondering why there is drought in regions of a planet that has a surface area that is comprised of a majority of water? Especially when technologies like HAARP, cloud seeding, as well as desalination and pumps exist?

  • So why don't you just start selling it for affordable price? I don't think making solar cells or panels is that expensive. We have machinery to make tiny electronic parts,so why not build more to make solar panel factory and finnaly start to give that thing out for a few cents per watt!!!you will see the fast transformation from burning coal or buying oil..

  • Indium will run out in 15 years

  • SO..........if we jump on this ...15 years we could all be covered

  • Actually some people say 15 years, the people that mine it say because of better extracting processes their is enough to sustain us long term. who knows what the truth is but 40 times more silver is mined then indium and its 3 times less abundant on earth.

  • plus by that time im sure they will fine new and better ways to make it

  • @steveman223

yeah right nothin is coming and even if it did they will stil tax the shit out of you for the free energy device. the oil cartel is working very hard to attach itself to these inventions to make sure they dont abolish there profits. nothin good is coming we wil still be heavily taxed and controlled.

  • @spanishaustralian Yeah unless the people of the world wake up and rebel against the corporations, the governments and change this damned system where corrupt people rule our lives! I hope im not being over dramatic :P

  • if you truely want to change the world you must support Congressman Ron Paul and help get him eleected president. everyone must help. please man i ant screwing around.

  • this is cool. why hasnt this caught on yet?

  • Yak Yak Yak, it all useless unless the one can buy them.

  • Pipe dream.

They are only selling to government agencies and utility companies.

The average homeowner will never see low cost solar cells unless they buy scratch & dent silicon cells for $2-3 a watt.

I hate companies who make these claims with no intent on making the technology available to the general public.

  • @elbeghast

there have been places to get solar panels for < $2 a watt for atleast a year, if you are willing to spend the money for a dozen panels ...

  • @elbeghast Well you wrote that comment 11 months ago and already solar panels are $1.80 a watt. I'm making 8 to 10% of my total power per day from just 2 solar panels. What I hate is when someone, who knows nothing about the subject, makes a comment as if they are the end-all and be-all of the topic. Solar is very viable, very cheap compared to how long it lasts (25+ years) and with Federal, State and local governments helping out many of us are now making our own power with 5 year paybacks.

  • I will thanks electronic parts donations, like PV solar cells, high brigh LEDs and NiMH or LiIon batteries to make lighting devices for poor comunities here in Brazil.

    Please, send your contributions to:

Rua Dr. Heitor Blum, 309A - Apto. 206

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards

  • if you want to get off the grid visit greenlivingitup (dot) com . I'm not trying to spam, I just thought some people would be interested to see this.

  • it is the energy companies like gas and coal and oil purching it

  • GREAT, Exactly what we need!

we are about 50 years behind because of Reaganomics.

What kind of world do we want?

One run by another Giant Multinational Corporate MONOPOLY like ENRON, so you have no choice who you buy ALL your power from, they set prices, Control Government & write laws, covet wealth Power & Control, Deregulation, dispise Freedom & Democracy, they say their ONLY OBLIGATION is to make money?

Or do we want a thriving Democracy, where The People have the Power?

  • Your post makes no sense. 1) Behind because of Reaganomics? What is this video about, governmnet or business led research? 2) Choice of power: Who limits our choices, the govermnet or business? Answer: State governments enact laws that prevent people from choosing their energy providers.

  • Its not just the solar panel costs that prevent people from using solar, its also the installation fees. All around the US they charge $8 per watt (for installation) and so if you want an 8,000 watt system they will charge you $64,000.

  • I have found 200 watts panels for $400.00 At 8000 watts the cost would be $16,000.00 with out installation.

You're right about the over charge from installers, most panels run $3.00 to $2.00 per watt.....

  • OverUnityNow1 - thats a good price for solar panels ($2/watt). The place I live requires UL certified panels when connecting to the grid. Are the solar panels that you mentioned UL certified? I am considering a 1000 watt ground mount array so I can install it myself and then have an electrician connect the final wiring.

  • Hey sry didnt mean to rate it poor, its pretty cool

  • lol, its cool

  • Cheap solar cells? Just propaganda all buisnesses never holds on theyre promisses.

  • Yea they are cheap but they dont tell you that you probably have to buy triple the amount to equal one silicon solar panel

  • Esgandinion is right,Iv seen this film LAST YEAR,,,When are they selling this? They really dont want to sell anything Cheaper,They can make it cheaper ,,but still want more for it,Ford makes almost all there parts in China,But the cars are not any cheaper ,just the labor is cheap.

  • man i hope our human future will be brighter

    and the world is clean.

im looking forward on this technology in my country

  • BLAH BLAH, we all know how it works, Where the hell is this wonderful technology, why can't we buy today, Because is it just BS to stimulate investors. Shut up or put up.

  • go ahead enjoy spending $50 to fill up your suv you idiot

  • lol

  • @stonecoldjason lol what he said wasnt nice, nfact the shit was funny but it seems pretty true, and i support green energy.

  • Comment removed

  • @stonecoldjason

only 50 ?? must be a forgien suv

  • @stonecoldjason Some of us NEED larger vehicles. We don't want them, we NEED them! Some of us have equipment to carry, others are handicapped and need the extra room for wheel chairs, etc. If I could get all of our film equipment in a small car, I'd much rather drive that! But there's just no way to get broadcast cameras, lighting, sound, and associated equipment, plus a small crew into a little car. Lighten up until you know the whole story.

  • Powerfilm makes a lot of different foldable panel, made with thinfilms.

But they are really expansive yea ... ( 1000$ for a 60W panel or so )

  • So far this is all vaporware. Been hearing for years about this company and yet nuttin' in the way of product from them.

You Green religion worshipers need to get back to the alter of Al Gore and pray some more.

  • shit yeah man, i reckon you're on the right track there.

i was thinking about all the I2R losses people would have by building these sun farms out in the middle of nowhere but i reckon that'd more or less cover it. sounds like a good invention

  • What if we used solar panel electric generating insulation, we insulate the High Power Transmition Cables so they generate power and utilize the power lost by distance. Hypothetically the thousands of miles of Cables across the sun belt could generate huge amounts of power and be instantly connected to the Grid, Vic
