Your videos are awesome, I am a new mechanic and you explain the procedures in a way that I understand. Thank you for making your videos, I have saved every one of them. Keep'em comin'!!!!! Have a great year DieselStop. {=;
not all 24 valves have the KDP issue. I pulled my 2001 ram 2500 apart and the KDP was tabbed from the factory. I am the origional owner of my truck, so no one else has touched it. I also looked into the problem further.... 89'-98.5' has the KDP for sure. Because Cummins went with the VP-44 pump in 99', the case changed slightly. From 98.5-2000 ish some early 24 valve engines came with the "old" style 12V cases (clear out old stock) and the KDP problem
Thanks, do people after they do the fix mark it somehow so the next owner knows it has been done? Hope your knees feel better. My mom had both knees replaced at the same time and it worked out well for her.
thats what friends r for i had a friend that blew the motor up in his truck and just parked it and then smashed up his other truck and couldnt work without a truck and could not replace the motor in his truck cause he didnt have the time so i told him go get a junk yard motor and to tow the truck to my house and buy me a pack a smokes and i spent to whole night 6pm to 4 am in the shop replaceing the motor just so he could go to work the next moning and he came and picked it up at 5 am pos ford
Again, thanks. I'll link it to others.

what exactly does the KDP do?
drxplayax 11 months ago
@drxplayax The KDP is a alignment tool for the gears. Like your injection pump because it bolts to the cover.

Did Cummins fix the KDP on newer revision engines? I have a 2006 Dodge 3500 with a 5.9. Should I be worried about the KDP?

@fegolem Cummins fix the problem in 2003
