i think most people can open a box, an install video might have been useful. i have this graphics card and it's pretty useless, it leaves artifacts all over my screen and is incompatible with the 3d package i use.

why would you need to differentiate a gaming graphics card from a workstation card? What can this do that a gaming card cannot and vice versa?

Guys, for 3ds max modeling interior scenes (architecture) and rendering them, which one would you suggest, ati 5800 or 7800, or nvidia quadro 2000!? ive ati 5850. will i see much improvements? the viewport is very laggy when i model up to 1million polys....its very slow sometime. Thanks :)

@Emeengor this kind of cards have chipsets and architecture design for dealing with 3d creation software, this cards are optimized for those worflow environmets, you can use either kind of cards for gameing or 3d creation, they are just a little more specialized if you will for that kind of work

@SVTFilms The ATI FirePro V7800 supports OpenCL, DirectCompute, and has the ATI Stream SDK for OpenCL developers. Don't get sucked into CUDA and PhysX buddy; they're not as great as you think. It's not something truly special.

If you're going to tell me to go look at the specs of an NVIDIA card (which I never even mentioned), you should get your head out of a hole. I simply said that CUDA isn't something special; it's the exact same as OpenCL, except it ONLY works on NVIDIA cards. OpenCL works on all graphics cards that have it enabled (All Radeon 4000 series and above, basically).

Don't start the fan argument. It's all bullshit and preference.
