  • YEH MAN HE NO'S what i mean :D its all about the subs :)

  • This shows nothing about any movement.

I want the real "Dubstep" movement, what's the meaning behind it. It is the revolution of music, and it need to be expressed in much larger light. This is very basic description, at most. Do some real research on the "Dubstep Movement".

  • @ProspectiveProphet Fair one, it was only intended as a brief description for those who haven't heard of the genre, primarily my tutors, may be I'll change the title...

  • @ProspectiveProphet watch bass weight if u still didn't you will like it i think :)

  • at 0:20 give me all that molotow in the back

  • i have it raw.. my sub goes crazy...

  • couldve asked better people these ppl dont know jack shit about the movement

  • Okay so would you care to enlighten us all on what was missed then? I had a deadline to meet and no industry 'heads' were willing to be interviewed in the time I was given.

  • @roblivious540 M Diggity dont know shit.

  • @shadywalker clearly neither do you faggot. steaz is a hip hop dj and not a big one at that and miles is a young up and coming dj...hardly best placed to be main interviewees in something claiming to "documenting the dubstep movement"

  • @notowar999 Faggot? Well, I am not trying to insult you here, but your a complete idiot. Feel free to hide behind your anonymity and feel safe to write anything you wish. You obviously do not have a very powerful intellect.. So please, dont bother straining yourself with a reply.

  • @shadywalker 'M Diggity dont know shit' clearly is an insult. As it happens i know both the people interviewed this video and my point has been accepted by the person who made the video. I don't really think you're best placed to be telling me about dubstep either if you're from Canada when it clearly started in London and came from a merge of UK developed music. I'm not saying Canada doesn't have a good scene - but I'm bigger fan of your jungle scene.

  • ...clearly I'm not going to write my name all over youtube but you're welcome to message me and I will give you my name and postal address. You can write to me if it makes you happy Shady and you can challenge my intellect should you so wish. By the way when trying to establish an argument, phrases such as "I am not trying to insult you here, but your a complete idiot" serve only to detract from your point and make you look the 'idiot'.

  • @notowar999 Hmmm your a complete idiot, a statement, and one I throughly consider fact. First of all, you start by calling me a faggot and commenting on something 5 months old or whatver.. I am not going to waste my time trying to figure out exactly what I commented on, but I think it must have been some worthless insult. I was merely siding with roblivious540.

You seem like a reasonable person, so go take your enthusiasm for dubstep and do something constructive with it.

  • @roblivious540 --go to a rave and interview some people who have been in the scene a while or are perhaps making the tunes that are definining the movement? otherwise you are hardly "documenting the dubstep movement."

  • @notowar999 Fair shout, in hindsight I see your point and how this isn't specifically documenting 'the movement' as such, it wasn't intended to either, it was meant more as a brief expose of dubstep, aimed at people who aren't familiar with the genre, ie. the tutors who were marking it, and was never intended as an in depth documentary of 'the movement'. I guess I used that term as it has a nice ring to it & wasn't really sure what else to call it, sorry if this was misleading/inaccurate. Safe.

  • @roblivious540 no worries g

  • yes man i hate people saying its crap when they haven't heard it on a big system!

  • WE ARE DUBIST

  • nahh bristol is dubstep

  • Fantastic 5*s

  • Whats the backing track to this vid? Its sick.

  • Fair enough mate, it wasn't my intention to make it 'gangster', this is just the result of filming and following people who live dubstep in the city that gave birth to the music. not really that 'gangster' considering the genre was born out of garage and reggae music lol

  • but yeah i do incorporate a lot ideas from hip hop videos and culture come to think about it so you are right, but we're not all bad people!

  • I actually have to agree, I dont think it was intentional, but I did get that feel from it.

I liked the way it was filmed and edited. Very professional looking.

  • Where are you frm? im guessing not from london because this is what dubstep is like now its developing in different ways, its expiremental music so it wont always be the wobbly dubstep...theres so many different expresions of dubstep wouldnt it be boring if it was always the wobble bass?

  • And what do you mean a more mature, intellectual audience? Look at the heads who pionered the dubstep scenes they arnt fucking oxford scholars mate, they are just london heads mate and for what reason would you expect that kind of audiance? and in what way are they guys not that kind of audience? music can attract many different types of people

  • haha i see steez

  • go on mileage.. woop woop

  • its funny cause i was hugging a sub on my lap whilst watching this

  • gd vid mate

  • cheers man

  • that guy at 40 seconds looks like tim westwood

  • WE.ARE.DUBIST

  • Good work buddy, nice insight into the scene. Been loving Dubstep for about 7-8 years now and love how the scene is going from strength to strength.

Really captures the diversity of the scene, techno led dubstep, glitchy, reggae, etc etc.

  • shweeeet

  • the older dude with the white jacket doesnt match his voice.

  • yeah i get wot u mean

  • haha lol so tru

  • hug the waves man

  • very nice vid... thx

  • wen heads refer to garage/ 2 step, can anyone link me any examples of what they mean. to me dubstep just sounds like dub/reggae with heavy bass and elements of jazz, house etc.

  • not really that clued up on garage/2 step artist myself. but iam sure you could find some stuff searchin on youtube. should search for grime too i reckon. safe.

  • burial, El B, synkro, horsepower, Asa - all these sorta guys do the 2-step type stuff... plenty of others, google is your friend......

  • listen to hobsons choice that could be classed as early dubstep or buddah finger.

  • i love the song playing...

  • Heavy video man - short but sweet.

Good shots and narrative - you do a longer version at all?

  • shutup you yank bastard

  • well good man... impressive

  • It's fine. Accept it's faults and move on. Plenty more tapes to be shot...

  • wise words mate ;)

  • Really nice work - liked it. Short and sweet. Great track selection - and a nice intro to those who don't know the genre I guess. Good work.

  • wots the track playin in the background

  • check the video info bro...

  • the sound levels seem a bit jumpy as well... thats what you get from having to edit in a noisy classroom environment. i could pick holes in it all day. grrrr...

  • the timing doesnt seem that tight on youtube... bah!
