to be honest its kinda hard to compare the two games cos they're completely different. on the left he's rushing with the patched ak74u which is average. in the game on the right he's playing with arguably the best gun on the game now, the ak47 and he's camping so of course the game on the right would naturally lead to him playing better regardless of lag
I have a 4.02 ratio in black ops and a 2.07 wlr, but when i see my whole team is a 3bar team, and everyone on my opponent's team is running a 4 bar, i leave. There's no point. I will lose almost every single gun battle, unless i camp. I tried one game facing a 4 bar team, with an ak74 grip rapid fire, and i lost every gunfight even with prefire. This really needs to be fixed.

I started playing Black Ops online and got to level 35, but I found it so frustrating because of the lag that I had to stop playing and go back to MW2. Have you ever been killed by someone before you even saw them or shot directly at someone several times without kiling them only for them to kill you? That's lag!
A well placed Semtex or Frag usually deals with any camper nicely. If you get killed repeatedly by the same person at the same area blame yourself for not using your tactical grenades or lethal grenades. Host does have an unfair advantage when it comes to gunmanship. Be smart about it. If your team sucks well you're pretty much screwed. You're only as strong as your weakest link.

It comes into play when the game calculates hits and collisions. Observe objectively and you'll notice it kicking in.
Connection is WAAAYYY more important than skill in black ops... like i heard that black ops was going to have way more skill needed... i was finally like YES! becase i have skill, but terrible connection...and thats what black ops is... a connection game
I just played on host for the first time in black ops (not kidding, i RARELY get host). I had a 28 win streak in free for all and never went below a 3.00 KD. In those 28 matches, I only got knifed twice. Usually i'll get knifed 5+ times in one match when not on host. Playing on host is amazing! Especially when you're used to a 2-3 bar connection.

But if you have about 1-5 mbps , you'll find yourself using a half a mag to kill someone , and when you try to escape getting shot by running around a corner , you'll still get killed because your movement doesnt even register fast enough. check your speeds at speedtest . net .mine is bad because i have optimum but im about to get verizon fios . i still manage to have a 1.69 kd with 1-4mbps
@OutragedPanda no , when my internet is going 13mbps i shot someone with an m16 and they die in two bursts. but when my internet is going 1 mbps it take around 3 and 4 burst to kill someone because some of your hits dont register due to slow internet
The more mbps your internet service provides , the better. Sandy Ravage has verizon fios with 25 up and download mbps so that gives him an extremely high chance of being host (thats why he does so well. not saying that hes not good but if he has 1mbps from optimum , he would be getting owned quite often ) Most people with the high kdr have good internet speeds. And most people who have 0.50 k/d are stealing internet from their neighbor and is getting less than 3 mbps(or has optimum 1-10mbps)

But you have to admit, if you can't kill a camper after the first time he killed you (given that you know his position, line of sight etc), then you have to admit that you're either unskilled, or the camper is skilled.
Camping is effective. Rushing? Not so much. Hence how you claim the latter is harder.

Anyone who complains about host is a pussy. Adjust your playstyle to the ping difference, and beast just the same. Know your not host and adjust. There is no advantage to someone being host if you play knowing you aren't host.

Thats true but still host in COD can be super annoying as well when the host has ak74u and lightweight since the lag makes it impossible to kill them because you wont notice them until after they pop out and fill you with holes.
It also makes it annoying because of the hit markers. As in you shoot the other player and see 10 hit markers and then he shoots you and you die in one hit but when the killcam comes up you see yourself get shot three times and the other guy only once.
IDK why they wont just have dedicated servers for a game so popular. I think its unfair for another player to have an advantage just because he's playing as host. I usually play with a two bar connection because i live in japan and im sick and tired of being at an disadvantage just because of connection alone. I still manage to post a good kd but it just makes me not want to BO anymore. Especially since I still get a three or four bar while playing MW2.

I get host most of the time, and unless I'm playing with internationals, I don't get much of an advantage, if any. I'm in the U.S. and I usually give most U.S. players 4 bars. Everyone having 4 bars = hardly any delay. Host having 4 bars, and all else having 3, will give the host a noticeable advantage. When the host has a 2 bar (yes it happens), the host will usually have a HUGE advantage. In 2-bar-host games, it's usually too difficult to walk in a straight line, much less kill the host.
Host advantage is such a big deal when me and my mate go online together I seem to always get host so litaratly playing with him makes we a 2-3KD player from my regular 1.3 ish KD
also he is using diff guns ak74-u on the left and the ak-47 on the right and also like doeesreaky was saying he was spawn trapped and was being reaped but on the right he just camps really hard so its not host advantage he just change up his game play thats it
This is very true, I would say I'm prob just a bit better then the average cod player, I have a 3.11 ratio due to the fact I'm host prob like every 4/5 games, running around with a ak74u is very easy for hosts, but you do have to have slightly good reflexes and know the maps to get a good score, but yeah get good Internet and you do better ? It's fair.

@Shaqster495 it takes no skill at all to camp in a corner with claymores around you, and its a harder and better game if you rush, plus if you get a high killstreak by running around the map it looks better. not moving your left stick at all and just waiting for them to come through a door takes skill does it .... i must be wrong then

@rmz2502k8 I disagree. Camping takes skill, just like rushing does and sitting practically paralyzed in a corner is just as easy as running around the map like an idiot.
But you have to admit, if you can't kill a camper after the first time he killed you (given that you know his position, line of sight etc), then you have to admit that you're either unskilled, or the camper is skilled.
Camping is effective. Rushing? Not so much. Hence how you claim the latter is harder.

You should've got him to use the same class and same game type. He kind of just ran around in the non-host and then pinned an area down as host with a different class.

@BEARARMZ In the beginning of the game right as the countdown begins hit the back button, host is the 1 person with 4 bar before everyone connects.

Quickscoping, Noob tubing, painkiller, All gone thank god, Yes I agree the lag and 2nd chance are frustrating but I think the developers are moving in the right direction in the sense that they are always listening to the community and trying to improve the game as best they can. It will never satisfy everyones taste. I just wanted to say I was chufed that they brought back zombies, Such a good laugh.

Play Gears of War 2 and you'll see what host advantage is really like. Its like playing Black Ops but you're the only one with stopping power and juggernaut.

as much as i agree host adv is shitty/ great depending upon whether your giving or taking =D the two games were completly different in terms of tactics. i mean they use different setups... one is spamming RPGs left right and centre and running around. whilst the other is picking his shots sticking in the buildings watching his line of sights building his killstreaks.
have u not thought perhaps its two differnt people playing? i mean i only have one controller. and my mates are shit on B.Opps xD

Anyone who complains about host is a pussy. Adjust your playstyle to the ping difference, and beast just the same. Know your not host and adjust. There is no advantage to someone being host if you play knowing you aren't host.

That is a pretty awful comparison.
Without host he was using an AK74, was constantly using his RPG, and was always moving around the map so he died a lot.
With host he only used the AK47 and generally was only sitting in one place, and every time he did move around he got rocked.
There is no doubt host advantage in this game sucks, but this wasn't a good comparison to prove it.

Thats true but still host in COD can be super annoying as well when the host has ak74u and lightweight since the lag makes it impossible to kill them because you wont notice them until after they pop out and fill you with holes.
It also makes it annoying because of the hit markers. As in you shoot the other player and see 10 hit markers and then he shoots you and you die in one hit but when the killcam comes up you see yourself get shot three times and the other guy only once.

IDK why they wont just have dedicated servers for a game so popular. I think its unfair for another player to have an advantage just because he's playing as host. I usually play with a two bar connection because i live in japan and im sick and tired of being at an disadvantage just because of connection alone. I still manage to post a good kd but it just makes me not want to BO anymore. Especially since I still get a three or four bar while playing MW2.

I get host most of the time, and unless I'm playing with internationals, I don't get much of an advantage, if any. I'm in the U.S. and I usually give most U.S. players 4 bars. Everyone having 4 bars = hardly any delay. Host having 4 bars, and all else having 3, will give the host a noticeable advantage. When the host has a 2 bar (yes it happens), the host will usually have a HUGE advantage. In 2-bar-host games, it's usually too difficult to walk in a straight line, much less kill the host.

This is very true, I would say I'm prob just a bit better then the average cod player, I have a 3.11 ratio due to the fact I'm host prob like every 4/5 games, running around with a ak74u is very easy for hosts, but you do have to have slightly good reflexes and know the maps to get a good score, but yeah get good Internet and you do better ? It's fair.
