Shit I had a L36 in my regal, one of the best engines ever made IMO right along with L67 those engines were god damned tanks....but stock for stock def. no match to the 6.0L, even with basic bolt-ons. On my 99 GP for the tires i have 245/50/16. Not bad. But the stock 16's not really rim wide enough. But it works. I find too is kinda takes more power to turn them wide tires. It still goes good for take off. Also smooth on bumps as well. Yeah i would like to put 18's on. It would look nice for sure. If anybody knows. What's the widest tires size for 18's on my 99 Grand Prix GT ?.
@2Tones0508 good point i didnt even think about the wheel well gap... damn. i didnt want to go with a larger wheel i just want to go wider. the 225 60 16 is way to skinny for my liking

@joe0813 I was running 20's on my gtp 255/35/20 and she rubbed on the fender not even the strut, not even close. dont go any bigger then 245's if you plan on having people in the back of your car. the rubbing may have had to do with them being 20's but just to be safe. all you need to know is they didnt touch the struts
3.2 pulley, changed pcm,removed u-bend it the exhaust with 3.5 pipe, added fake o2 sensor,borla performance{not tuned, tuned is for those who think playing in spokes are still cool}.tires now that is a funny story, left stock on at goodyear rs-a i think, after performing the upgrades, I knew in first run need way more width, i left two 50 foot lines with rs-a. plus new top speed 161 needed zw tires 155 plus so now runing 315/50/16, the largest you can put without wheel well damage.
@dpl2112 That's a good run in your gtp how did you get the horsepower so high? I had a gtp with only 327 horsepower but almost 400 torque. My best quarter mile time is 12.9 too, what tires did you have on your gtp?
@dpl2112 There's no way you're running high 12's with an un-tuned car & the minimal mods that you claim. What do you have done to support that 3.2 pulley?? Also, what wheels are you using with those 315 tires?

Yeah, they are a different class. I own one of each and I still one day want to mod the GTP.
