Had an embarassing moment just now... My brother-in-law and sister just walked in and saw me conducting this song laughed and walked out lmao I must be like 10 shades of red right now all the way up to my ears....
People keep saying this sounds Irish and yes I do hear some Irish Celtic influence but for the most part I hear Classical music. Simply magnificent! <3
I once listened to this while strolling in the gardens of Versailles (I mean the castle). It was pure magic, it really felt like being back in the XVIII century.
And later that day, I heard it played live by the band at their Paris concert. Now, that's what I call a full immersion.
It definitely would have been a courtly dance, I'm sure! It's very like a Baroque gigue, which would explain why it sounds a bit like folk music. :3 Gigues were the aristocratic version of a folk jig in the 16th and 17th centuries.
This was such a surpirse to hear on the first listening of Jubilee. It is such a fast yet gorgeous piece of music. But it is also hard to place. It has a very "Noble" sound to it, yet it does indeed sound like a lively Irish jig. LOL
@overlex: yeah, sounds like a courtly music from the ancient European kingdoms... even the then nobles would be amazed by the how Versailles has rendered this piece. \m/
well when you say they cut an song, that means they cut the song shorter than it was originally written. Perhaps you should be more clear on "your point". Also, if the writter has nothing eles to write for a song, they're not going to extend it just for the sake of extending it. If that's what you getting at.
Its impossible not to grin like an idiot to this song

I bet King Louis XIV would've waltzed all night to this song with his aristocratic followers, I know I would've :D

By the way, I want this to be my wedding music... I'm just curious about the style though, for I'm wondering if Teru was inspired by Irish music.
Nevertheless, still awesome!!!
weiss99 2 years ago 2
This is definitely Teru's style... freaking awesome neoclassical music.
