@SeattleCoffeeGear well, consisten shots does not automatically mean good shots, plus a lot of people (including me) has no idea of how a good shot should taste, hence we try them at starbucks for instance, and hate them for the rest of our lives, when actually starbucks shots are crappy, so i'd like u to try it :P
lol, the giotto premium is the best. second: grinder is also VERY important: MAZZER super jolly or vario (but mazzer is better). Finally, take some fresh roast coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a thing about boiler materials. in school we learn that copper and brass are used to make boiler due to ease of fabrication. so the price difference between those two are actually the expensive price of raw copper. im pretty confused over the temperature consistency bit. arent copper one of the most thermal conductive metals meaning their temperature fluctuate more?
@peanutking242 The copper boilers are fairly thin material and are then insulated in all the machines in which they are present, which helps with their temp consistency. The nickel plated brass (like in the Rockets) are much thicker (because the material is cheaper) and therefore do not have additional insulation in order to regulate the temp more consistently. Hope this helps clarify - let me know if you have any other questions. - Kat
Well, you told me I had to take a good look around for an espresso machine. I have now done and I came out with this set: Ascaso Arc Fun - Black and Silver Chrome, because I've compared them all and of then I saw that with this device you can steam the milk veary nice, What's your oppinion ?
@Logicdj I haven't used this one, myself. The Ascasos, in general, are pretty good machines - middle of the road as far as performance and build quality. As far as how this one compares, I don't have experience with it, so not really sure. Sorry :( - Kat
Thank you for these videos. I have learnt more here than the hours I have spent scouring reviews for similar products. If I'm ever in Seattle I will definitely have to check out the store.
Yay! The grinder quality is more important than the machine quality!! You, madam, are truly an expert. How many people spend $350 on a machine and $35 on a little blade grinder and can't figure out why it just won't make good espresso. Better to forget espresso, buy a $350 grinder and a $35 presspot and rock the night away.
If you were really smart, you took an old broken espresso machine, and removed all the inside of it, and then used the shell as the shops cash machine... would be a nice and fun twist for your shop.. ^^
Hehe, okay :D.. i dont think anyone else have it... i've got the idea myself, from watching this video.. Dont know why.. :p.. But hey.. Do you have msn or something... i have alot of questions, because that i have never owned an espresso machine, and i get mine tomorrow.. So there is alot of things i wanna know :P.. If you want to have me on your msn, just send me a ''youtube letter'' with your adress..

What do you think of the old (1999) Rio Junior Automatic and Rio Normale grinder.
I'm getting a deal for $700 for both, and they claim it cost over $5000 both.
How does the grinder compare to a mazzer or rocky?
How does the machine compare to a silvia, quick mill, or rocket?
Thanks

heyi want to ask you, have you ever tried the low end version of the nespresso? , the "dolce gusto"? how does it do in espresso shots?
sigfrid 1 year ago
@sigfrid No, we have not tried it. I assume the tech is still the same, though, and so the shots would be the same with the capsules. - Kat
