I fell in love with Alison Brie's character Annie, with her anime eyes..etc. But after seeing both Gillian and Alison outside Community, I now think Gillian is a nicer and more attractive woman. Alison Brie tries too hard to be center of attention in every medium I saw. Gillian Jacobs is much down to earth. Hell, she sometimes appear on reddit. I love this woman!

I started to watch community recently. But I could not pass through seven episodes. I don't understand how people that like same sitcoms as me could like Community. It's boring and humour is not original or smart in any way. What's up with cheesy "boy trying to pick up hard to get girl"? Characters is not very interesting or developed. In my opinion it's completely logical that their ratings are not good. :/

@1yearOLD I know this is from a year ago, quite the fun coincidence given your name, but I'd highly, highly suggest giving the show another chance. It gets so much better than the first few episodes. Once they break the mold of guy after girl, it becomes one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Some episodes I'd suggest watching, to earn your respect for the show are "Modern Warfare" s1e23, "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas" s2e11, "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons" s2e14, "Remedial Chaos Theory" s3e4

@1yearOLD No problem. Just wanted to make sure that if you really don't enjoy the show, it was /after/ you saw what it truly has to offer. Quite a few people see nothing really special during the first half or so of season 1; maybe a slightly above average sitcom. But then you hit the artistic, experimental, witty, reference-littered episodes, and most of them are enamoured by it, as I was.

If you still aren't infatuated with the show after those episodes, then I'll leave you be. :3

It`s so funny, intelligent and well written, it`s hard to believe that it`s not a #1 show on TV! I wonder: would it have more viewers if not for BBT? Community is the only show that REALLY makes me laugh (besides Craig of course) and it´s scary how much I identify with Britta...no other character on TV makes me go like "OMG, that could´ve been me/ I´m exactly the same!" =)

They made fun of Shit My Dad Says in the season premiere of Community, that was fun (and Chevy Chase's character actually was the dad in that storyline, the Oldwhitemansays ("'Oldwhitemansays' the TV show, who's gonna watch that?"). Too bad they're not up against each other though, that way maybe Community's ratings could be a little better than they are currently against The Big Bang Theory. Because Community is one of the funniest, smartest comedy on TV, it's really worth watching.

@zarkbot88 My friend actually described them pretty well: Big Bang Theory is a show about nerds, while Community is a show FOR nerds.

I find that this rings especially true with the references both shows make. Community's will be more inclusive and allow the viewer unlimited replay value (as in, plenty of references that you won't get the first time you watch it) whereas Big Bang Theory is kind of on-the-nose and 2D with its humor.

Overall, it's just personal taste.
